This seems faultless to me. Driver and software installation was very fast (WIn 7 -- I finally uninstalled the 8 'upgrade'!), and the software is pretty easy to use when it comes to joining your wireless network; it also worked with settings to find and use my Nokia phone as a hub. It was easy to install physically and only takes up one PCI slot despite the large-looking heat sink. The antennas are pretty meaty, and I get good and reliable signal strength on 2.4 ghz. Very robust all round. I can't vouch for the speed, as this is a bit of overkill for my current wifi, soon to be upgraded -- so in part this was a future-proofing exercise prior to getting a dual band router; I get a strong solutionthat I don't need to buy and install twice.UPDATE:Now using with a dual band Asus N55U modem router -- 300 + 300 Mbps is plenty enough, as it's way more than comes into the house. The software than comes with the network card shows channels 10 and 36 as 2.4 and 5 GHz bands respectively (may vary for you). There are several wifi users in the house -- this PC with the AC68 network card and meaty antennas, another PC streaming TV, a laptop or two plus phones. The software indicates a speed between the router and this PC as the only 5 GHz band user of between 360 and 450 Mbps (not that this much comes into the house, so it's only indicative of possibilities). Since this is a 300 + 300 router, I'm guessing that I get 300 on 5 GHz to myself, plus a share of the 2.4 GHz used by everyone else (and it is a guess, as the instructions don't tell much, nor the software itself). On the 2.4GHz band only, I get 144 Mbps amid other wifi users, and 300 when alone.I'm about 30 ft and two plaster board walls filled with glass wool insulation away from the modem router: I get a signal strength of 5/5 on the 2.4 GHz band and 4/5 on 5 GHz, so there is some truth in the reputation that signal strength is lower with 5 GHz, though with this set up the signal strength for both bands is evidently very good.As I said, the speeds quoted are just the speeds between the modem-router and this network card, which are way faster than the broadband coming into the house. However, using online speed tests, I have seen a fractional increase, perhaps 5% download and 10% upload, in the speeds I'm reaching, but do bear in mind that this is at least as much down to a more sophisticated router than I had before, though it takes two to tango and couldn't be done without this network card.As usual, the software/GUI could be more self explanatory, or indeed come with a better guide (or indeed a guide!). But it's rather good once you figure it out.

Tested in conjunction with the Asus RT-AC87U Router. To test it I popped a Sandisk Extreme USB3.0 memory stick into the router. I have a 3.1GB ISO of Windows 7 Home Premium on the SSD of my PC (upstairs). I installed the Asus PCE-AC68 adapter on 5.0GHz AC with beam-forming enabled. I copied the ISO from the PC to the USB memory stick and got 1058Mbps. Holy bandwidth Batman! That’s beating a wired gigabit Ethernet connection! OK my PC is in the room directly above the router, but that is still impressive for a USB file transfer over WiFi. The copy was running at an average of 25MB/s and the whole copy took a little over 2 minutes. With the recommended ports forwarded,I was getting an average ping of 10 on UK servers of BF3. I played for over three hours without a SINGLE hitch, lag spike, rubber band or dropped connection. I suppose I had just gotten use to the occasional stutter, so it was very noticeable in its absence.I have a 100MB down service from Virgin Media. Whenever I ran Speedtest.net with my TP-link 2.4GHz 400Mbps USB adapter connected to the Superhub I would get it hovering around the 80MB mark on a good day (right after a Superhub power-cycle). Typically though it would be more like 60 to 70MB. With this router and the PCE-AC68 adapter it ALWAYS maxes out at 107MB down. The magnetic base is very strong and the cable is long of you are planning on mounting on your case. You'll struggle if you want it further away though. The Asus utility is straight-forward and easy to use, and provides useful network status and connection info.My only minor quibble is that the PCIE backplate (where you connect the aerials) has an absurdly bright blue LED to flash when there is traffic. At night this lights up my room so I've blacked it out with a CD marker pen. No stars off for this though. The performance so far has been perfect.

Initially I thought.... some bogus card or I get more stupid every day...Lets start from beggining.I updated router to one of those fastest Nighthawk 7000 (sweeet router!!!), immediately seiing extreme smoothness back with my virgin internet (and i mean it! i prune network properly every day!).I tested then some speeds versus my devices, and i realised that my galaxy phone was faster than my powerful desktop!I quickly realised it was the old tp link network card that was slowing down and my phone used new 5Ghz wireless connection (tplink used only 2.4Ghz)!!!So what I did, same as always, came to amazon seeking for some upgrade.I found this card. I run linux only (unless at work)and I found quickly driver to install it - card started immediately working.Initially I thought there was something wrong as transfers "stucked" around 32MB - well it was bad router setting at 1300 MB mode :) For some reason the driver is not ready yet for that - so I switched to 600MB speed - and believe me - I have wireless "like wired" connection now.Very stable.Very fast.Very happy. One cons - I am expecting some updates in linux drivers for 1300 mode (not sure how this is related but it is).Anyway, who cares 1300... I love stability and way I load it heavily with networking and still can play counter-strike with ping 8- very impressed as this was normally possible only with cable.

First of all, I had been using the same ethernet cable for almost 8 years, and my internet has always been 60mb/s download and 10mb/s upload. Because of house renovations I had to get rid of the ethernet cable and I decided to grab this after much hesitation, expecting this thing to barely catch on to WiFi, I was totally blown away by its performance.First few tests for the internet speed were amazing, 160mb/s download and 10mb/s upload, I did not even know I had this fast internet. The internet speeds are always consistent. The installation of the card was very straight forward, pretty much any one with two eyes and two hands can do it.Been using this for a few weeks, overall I am extremely satisfied with the reliability and the speed of this thing. There are some times that the internet speed dips, or it loses connection for a few moments but its quite rare. Note: The router is directly downstairs from my room and my PC (Don't know how this effects the connection, but I figured its a variable to take note of).

I have this wireless card in a rather cramped Silverstone Lascala case on a Sabertooth Z77 motherboard. I had experienced one drop out on an extremely hot day. Since then after fitting a "Gelid" PCI Slot Fan Holder with two slim 120mm UV Fans (ASIN: B00OAPH76Q) to cool it and an Asus GT640 Silent graphics I have never had another drop out. High transfer rates anywhere on a computer generate heat and wireless network cards are no exception, pamper them with a decent flow of air and they'll serve you loyally until progress makes them obsolete.Such sterling service has this given that as of today (26-08-2019) I have ordered another and considering yet more.Unfortunately many people write reviews without considering the part they've in the problems they have experienced. Life is about learning objectively and subjectively, and a lesson ignored or unlearnt is both an experience and time wasted, many it appears go throughout the whole of their lives wasting so much.

I purchased mine from a retail store, first thing I did was download latest drivers from Asus website before installing the card in a spare PCI-E slot(x1 slot is fine), the ones on CD are always out of date.Once drivers are installed(install card first) and you enter your network details via Win10 network settings in my case it was fine ie up and running, range on 2.4GHz is excellent, 5GHz is pretty good as well, obviously 5Ghz is designed for speed not range, but having both on gives you the best of both worlds if you have a dual band modem/router.My equipment with this wireless card was Asus DSL-AC68U modem/router with Win10 Pro x64.Only bad point is the external magnetic aerial base lead is a bit short, however you can install the three antennas straight into back of the wireless card if you wish.Very happy with this wireless card, warranty is usual Asus three years cover.Btw chipset on PCE-A68 wireless card is Broadcom chipset.

This arrived promptly and I was purchasing it to get the most out of my Virgin Media connection. My router supported the 5Ghz band but I was stuck using a small USB dongle on 2.4Ghz band. My USB dongle was unreliable, disconnected a lot and the signal was weak. I was getting 20mbit/sec from it, and I'm paying for upto 100mbitI installed my PCE-AC68, slapped the driver disk in and popped the extended aerial base in and went straight to speedtest.netI was expecting a moderate increase in the download speeds, 40mbit or 60mbit perhaps, but I registered a whopping 105mbit.So in summary, this card far exceeded my expectations. It's a serious piece of kit, and I'd expect nothing less from a quality name like Asus.Fastest possible speed, flawless signal, stability, quick to install... Five star. If you've a high speed connection and actually want to use the speed you're paying for this is worth every penny.

So I had a TP-link onboard WiFi card that I bought for when I first built my pc. I had a hub and the TP-link card worked fantastic with my hub and give me full signal!! So I renewed my contract with virgin and they sent me out a upto date hub 3.0 and my TP-link WiFi card didn’t connect to the new hub as good as it did with my first hub I had with virgin. Hope that makes since! So I tried everything with my hub settings to get what I had, had no joy so I thought to myself about getting a new WiFi card and I did.... it was this and oh my boy it is so good :) I have my full signal again and I’m receiving my 200MBs download speed again on 5GHz like I did on my old hardware and this upgrade give me it all back!!!I would highly recommend getting this if you have had the same problem as me. This card will make up for any loss you have/had due to change! Help this helps guys

Bought this item to replace a Netgear WNA3100 USB adapter that only connected to the internet intermittently, meaning I spent almost as much time reseating the dongle and booting and rebooting my PC as actually using it; and when it did work, its download speed was pathetic. So I decided to go the internal card route this time, and am I pleased I did! Download speed went from a weedy 3-6 Mbps on our BT Infinity line to the expected 45-50 Mbps - not too shabby on 1960's phone wiring! One thing that is worth noting is that even though this is a PCIe x1 card, in my PC the x1 slot is blocked by the graphics card - it is therefore actually installed in a PCIe x8 slot and will work fine in any speedPCIe slot even though its connector looks very small in the larger slots.Highly recommended if you are not afraid to open up your PC case to install it.

ASUS PCE-AC68 - On first install worked very well and got max internet speed. however.... after second boot of Windows 10 it will not work even with all the latest drivers etc. ~Keeps asking for wifi password even though entered correctly. Tried in a different PCI slot, tried all versions of ASUS software all with the same issue. Looked at various forums and tried all sorts of problem solving tips but still with no joy. Any recommendations of a good wifi card that 'will' work with Windows 10??Asus Sabretooth X79, I7 3820 @ 4.5ghz, 16Gb Ram, 512Gb SSD, GTX970.18/12/17 - Update... Returned my wifi card and order the same again as suspected faulty.. tried new wifi PCI card today and did 'not'install ASUS software and just let windows install the ASUS driver directly with no added ASUS software... it works for now!! Fingers crossed!

Firstly, I've put this card in my Windows 10 PC (with the latest creator's update) and restarted. The card was recognized but Windows could not install the proper drivers. After that I downloaded the latest drivers from the ASUS website and restarted, it worked like a charm this time. My modem is in a closet hidden behind a metal panel. I screwed all three antennas behind the PC case. My internet subscription is 100Mb down and 5Mb up at max. I did some speed tests and I get around 99Mb down and 5Mb up constantly. My router modem has 5GHz feature and I connect through it. I get full bars in system tray area all the time. My PC is 5 meters away from the modem. Ipconfig gives 1ms ping times between PC and router.I am totally satisfied with this wifi adapter and recommend anyone.

A full 5 stars. I was dubious about splashing out on an expensive network adapter, but this thing works SO much better than my budget generic 2-channel PCI adapter. I don't know if it's the card itself, the software, or just the big chunky antennas, but it has cured my internet connection of dropping, and my download speed has gone from 25Mbps to 36Mbps. Very stable.I'd prefer to have a wired connection, which would be cheaper and faster, but I don't really have the option, so this is the next best thing. It's so nice to have my internet working properly again.EDIT: I just read in other reviews that this adapter doesn't work properly on Windows 10. I guess that's why the price dropped to £60.I'm still using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit,and it works 100% fine on my system.

At first I was a bit sceptical about the price but oh my, you do get what you pay for! I had quite a few problems with my previous Wi-Fi card and was looking for a replacement. My old card had connection issues and quite often I had to reset it while downloading something because of it just not willing to work. After upgrading my rig I thought that I should get rid of the problem once and for all and oh boy this card did the trick. The speeds and the connection are quick and most importantly stable, no more disconnects or router too far away poop. The only downside that I can think of is that the card has a coil whine when under load,it's not too loud and if you have a sturdy case then you won't hear it but some people can find it a bit annoying.

I bought this on 30 October 2014 for £70.07. It died last week mid-broadcast. If you want to get a NIC that lasts longer than 4.5years look elsewhere. Or if you are looking for a good one, get this but be prepared to have to buy a new card. The connection is great, I get 180Mb/s here where on cable it is 380Mb/s which I consider is good for WiFi.I have decided to buy a cheaper NIC to replace this as my original thought of buying this high priced one for it's durability was not well-thought. I like the design and will continue to use the antennas from it but sticking to cheaper ones. Maybe my one was faulty? Maybe not,I don't know but what I do know for certain is that it died with no real cause.

All I can say is this solved my issue which was getting a strong enough connection to the router to suck up all the 300mbps download. Had a 1.3gbps link to the router not sure what real world local transfers speeds would be.Issue being that even the top tplink power line adapters were capped out at 120mbs, which was a massive frustration in the end I had to way to go about it, running cat6 or WiFi, needless to say WiFi being the simplest and it delivered all though at a cost of a bit more latency then the power adapter. One thing to note is windows does not automatically download the driver so do not chuck out that CD or make sure to get the driver from Asus website
