I have been very impressed with this product. After several weeks of using the card with Windows 7 (Vista driver) and XP, I consistantly get a full 300Mbps/54Mbps from the various wireless N/G routers I have connected it to. In an area with lots of traffic in the 2.4GHz band the signal strength is excellent up to 25 meters from the source. The only time I've experienced dropouts have been because of router problems as the card itself is very stable even when the laptop runs hot. Performance is excellent during standard web browsing, downloading and large LAN file transfers, often only limited by the speeds of the laptop harddrives themselves. As with all wireless products you rarely get maximum potential speed (in the case of 300Mbps it would be 37.5MB/s)but it will regularly beat any wired devices using 100Mbps "Fast" ethernet. When in N mode I can download at full speed (2.5MB/s) using my 20Mb broadband connection, something I couldn't do with the original Intel 2200B/G card. It's a steal at the price I paid and arrived days before Christmas. There are very few mini PCI 802.11n cards being made so it's a relief to report that this one is superb and can breathe new life into those older laptops. I can report it is an excellent upgrade and a far better solution than having a USB dongle or PCMCIA slot attachment hanging off the side.

Bought this to install in my Toshiba P10 laptop. I had been using a Cardbus adapter and it was a bit of a pain having it sticking out of the side of the laptop. This card fits inside a cover on the underside of the PC and worked fine straight off. Easy to install but the wifi switch on the side of the laptop doesn't switch it off and so if you do want to turn off the wifi you use the software. The laptop has two antennae cables to connect and there are markings on the laptop to suggest what to connect where, although it isn't certain - there are only two options and so try it and see (I don't think it will do any harm to connect them the wrong way around but it won't work so well).I hadn'trealised that my TalkTalk router was 802n and so I now enjoy high speed networking throughout the house (range is very good). For the price it is excellent value for money!

I got this as an upgrade for my Asus WL500gp router which runs OpenWRT.I had already changed its original wireless card to upgrade to the latest OpenWRT. But the new card had significant problems with reception, although my apartment is not big. With TL-WN861N the reception problems went away. The card works flawlessly with the latest OpenWRT (Backfire 10.03.1-rc4) using the kmod-ath9k driver. More important, the router is now upgraded to 801.11n with 2x2 MIMO support for better performance when streaming media or copying files over the wireless network.Warning: If you run an Asus WL500gp with its original firmware, this card probably won't work for you. I can't say this definitely, but chances are that the original firmware doesn't include the proper drivers for this card.

bought this a a couple of weeks ago to replace a intel card in the wife's toshiba a50 laptop, was sick of her complaining when wifi was losing connection.looked at the various wireless n usb adapters on the market, and checked the reviews on amazon. and decided to go for this, used in conjunction with a d link 615n router the perfect combination,no signal drop outs greater range can even use out in the yard which was impossible using previous set up and the best thing of all no earache from the wife.as soon as connection established was picking up at 300mbps as compared to 54mbps with stock wireless g card in lappy,as well as a big improvement to my domestic situation the lap top has a new lease of life.(ubuntu 11.4).

I fitted this to a Dell D600 running XP and it greatly improved the range and connectivity over the Edimax 150Mbs USB Nano used before,(the Nano's not bad, it works a lot better under Linux in a Dell X300). I downloaded the latest software from TP-Link and only used the drivers not the apps included, letting Windows handle the wifi connectivity. Fitting is easy but beware your little laptop ariel cables might not be long enough to plug in. Fine on a D600 but they look too short on an X300, well, one might just fit.

This was well worth the money, these Mini PCI cards are hard to find now.Works great on Windows Vista, and Windows 7 using the vista driver as there is no Windows 7 driver.I notice both a stronger signal and higher connection speed right away. But if your after a 5mhz connection then this Card will not be for you, it's 2.5mhz only.Over all Im very please with it, and would recommend it.Was delivered fast from Amazon, and was well packed. It was also the best price I could find.:)

Works perfectly: Fitted in a Toshiba M100 Centrino based Laptop, as a replacement for the Intel 2100 Mini PCI Wireless Card. The Card received is Revision 2.0, it has two connecting pins for aerial leads (not 3, as used by TL-WN961N).It connects first time at 270Mbps (previously 11Mbps using factory fitted Intel 2100 Card), to a Netgear DG834N Wireless RouterDrivers installed fine, no problems - hasn't dropped connection.

I put this in my old toughbook 1.6GHz cf-29 and it works very well taking my connection speed up to 130 Mbs on the 2.4GHz n network compared to the 54Mbs I was struggling to get before. It has allowed me to turn off my a\b\g networks and only run 802.11n to all my devices. The swap over was straight forward, just connecting two leads. I'm happy with the product and the delivery was quicker than expected. No regrets at all.

Replaced my old G standard wireless card in my old slim line media PC - works a treat with a full speed 300Mbs signal at full strength. Well worth the upgrade. Slightly taller than my old card, but managed to fit it into space. After that I just had to add a second antena cable / socket to the case purchased seperately from eBay. Recommended.

This card is not as illustrated, having a generic branding, though it does seem to be the same as the TP-Link product. It is version 1 with the AR5008-2NG chipset. It comes without drivers and utility which are available from the TP-Link website. I used the Atheros driver version 10.0.0.260 from Atheros.cz and it seems to work well.

I purchased two of these; the first one has rejuvenated an old stock computer but unfortunately, the second one was faulty, so I returned it for a refund that Amazon.co.uk fulfilled speedily.

Great upgrade for an older laptop to take advantage of the N Wi-Fi range.Easy to fit, quick set up and simple to manage. Worth the price as it's inside out of the way.

Was quick to install and works great. I checked and get 130 instead of 54 for most of the other cards. Easy to configure and ready to work!

Excellent product, easy to install and works great on my laptop. No problems so far and good wireless range around the house.

Just does what it says. You will need an aerial whisker lead and an external aerial to get the best out of the wireless N
