Bought this during the working from home covid19 period to allow a PC from work to connect to the home WiFi as it was configured as ethernet enabled only.Unfortunately, this MUST have the software installed. it is NOT 'plug and play' and due to this, I could not use it as I do not have administrator rights on the work machine to install 3rd party software. However I did install this on my own personnel laptop to check it works and it does, once the software and associated drivers are installed

Simple little device to obtain wifi via usb, however after fitting I have the following notes:Design makes it difficult to handle if installing in tight spots, increased difficulty when you need to remove it.The device prefers a clear line of sight - the capability is massively impaired if it's installed under a desk for instance. The speed reduction from being in or on a desk with a surround to being sat in the open is very noticeable.Otherwise it's a cheap and quick fix to a lack of wifi

This thing is just amazing, works on every computers, laptops and also this is perfect for people who don't have wifi adapter in PC, surprisingly this USB is faster than I thought like other laptops, I didn't even realise that USB is plugged in when I start up my PC with no issues at all and feels like it have wifi built in, works on Windows 10, also Mac as well, I would recommend this to anyone and i have to say, this is decent and cheap wifi adapter i ever used, highly recommended this product

Very little to setup required, simply put the disk in and follow the prompts. This has great range and a very fast, stable connection perfectly adequate for online gaming. I was very uncertain after having some terrible quality wireless devices years ago but it seems things have come a very long way and all you need is this tiny dongle to solve all your problems.Don't pay out for a more expensive one, this tiny dongle will do everything you need and this is coming from someone who works in IT

Moved my desk top to a different room without a telephone socket. Was going to run a cable but thought I'd try this first. Absolutely delighted with the results and don't regret the purchase. Sits nicely in the back USB port under a desk and I still get fantastic reception for Streaming, downloading and general browsing. I had expected quality issues, going from a direct ethernet to router configuration to WiFi but I have to say it is very minimal and not even enough to warrant any worry. Fab!

Was having issues with Desktop PC connecting to internet through a wired connection.Quickly searched on the Argos website on my iPad and saw this item at a good price, reserved it there and then, and popped down to my Local Argos to pick it up. Staff were very helpful in store , back home, item was plugged into my PC and I was back online with no hassles, receiving a good connection. recommend if anybody needs wireless connection on their Desktop PC. And don't have a wireless card installed.

Whilst staying with a friend I did not have easy access to a Ethernet connection. No problem for my Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1 using wifi, but for an old Gateway Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 PC that I multi-boot for more secure browsing, email, etc. and testing Linux Distro's I was in trouble.A quick search brought up Argos for the TP-Link, ordered it on-line and drove to the local store to pick it up. Drove home, plugged it in and 'Voila', worked straight off.Great service and product.

I was going to get myself a powerline adaptor - convert any house socket into an ethernet port, using the household power circuit to transfer data - but I thought I'd give this a go as it's always handy to be able to give wifi capability to any device.I honestly didn't expect much, and wanted to see how well my kids could still "surf" and do their online homework. I was amazed, though, that my son can still play Fortnite without issues; data transfer as good as being directly on the cable.

Our old Mac Pro had always been ethernet connected to our router, & never had a wifi card fitted, so I needed to make the machine wifi capable. This little gadget did the trick!Nowhere does it list that it's Mac compatible, but it is!I had to download a Mac specific driver, which could be a problem for anyone needing this adapter working to get the driver in the first place, but you could get access from a friend or at work.Pretty reliable, only drops the connection occasionally.

The inbuilt Broadcom wifi adapter on my pc kept switching itself off after a Microsoft update. I spent many frustrating days trying unsuccesssfully to fix the problem & finally decided that the Broadcom adaper had been 'fried' so I researched external adapters and found this lovely neat little gadget which had plenty of positive reviews. Brilliantly, it fixed the problem in minutes. You just need a spare USB port to plug it into, insert the CD, follow the instructions and away you go. Easy!

This cheap little gem is excellent. I'm SO glad I listened to the reviews on here. They were not wrong. I couldn't get my wireless extender plug setup to work consistently with my PC in the spare room upstairs. I plugged in this wireless adaptor and it literally worked straight away on my old PC. Not only does it work all the time but the service has become very fast now and I don't even have a fast broadband setup; it has shown me how bad the extender setup was and they cost a lot more.

Very pleased to find this at this price, many wireless adaptors offered at this sort of price leave you in little doubt they are 'cheap'. This doesn't especially look or feel it, performs well and the longer warranty offers extra peace of mind. Set up was hassle free with the included driver disk.Why doesn't it get full marks? Not plug-n-play (a pain with netbooks etc which lack optical drives) and the performance claims made on the packaging are unrealistic under real world conditions.

Bought this adapter to replace the internal wifi in my laptop. It worked out of the box even on Windows 10, only required the Windows wizard to install and was all set up within minutes. While it shows fewer bars than the built-in adapter, my internet speed didn't go down at all (it may even be a tiny bit faster). I'm very pleased with the no-hassle setup and compatibility, and of course the price! The only negative is that it heats up more than an internal adapter, but works anyway.

I perhaps wouldn't appreciate this as much if I hadn't had to replace another, older wifi adaptor that overheated within a minute of use. The connection delivered through this is consistently strong (to the limits of your wifi strength) and has yet to fail me when I have wanted to use the internet. My only slight critique is that the cap over the USB end is a bit unnecessary when the adaptor is in constant use (as it is for me), but would be useful to protect it when in transit, etc.

We brought our children a second hand tower (with windows xp) for their homework, but they were so disappointed when we realised there was no wifi to connect to our fibre optic. This dongle has enabled them to connect with no problem at, just plugged into the USB port, inserted the mini disc which came with it and it was ready to go. They do not get lag, can watch films and music videos, I am not very good with technology, but it is so easy to setup, I would recommend to every one!!!
