This isn't so much a review as a piece of advice. I spent several frustrating hours trying to get this thing to work (no fault of the device, I might add). I use Windows 7 and it installed without a hitch. But I couldn't get online, and when I checked my network settings in Control Panel, the device was listed as 'disabled' and could not be enabled! It turns out that my Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite was preventing the Tenda adapter from running properly. I have also heard that firewall/anti-virus products from Kaspersky, McAfee etc have the same issue. The solution is to uninstall Zone Alarm, then install the adapter, then reinstall Zone Alarm. Also, don't bother with the included wireless config utility (even Tenda tell you not to bother on their website, bizarrely). If you are using vista or windows 7, just use the built in wireless network configuration. It really is a breeze to get connected.Addendum 03/08/11 :This adapter has an annoying habit of overheating and then dropping the connection. Browsing via several tabs at once seems to make this happen, and after only 10-15 minutes. The only way to get the connection back is to unplug the adapter and then plug it back in. Strangely, I can leave the same adapter downloading large files overnight with no drop-outs.Overall, the dropped connection issue is regular enough to be very annoying, and I am now looking for a better wireless adapter to replace this one.

When I decided to deploy an oldish computer to play media in a forgotten corner of the house, I needed a way to connect it to my existing network without cabling into our existing Ethernet. We decided to use WiFi despite some reservations about the transmission distance and the structures between the computer and the WiFi hub, which includes H-beam girders, a house alarm system, and two power distribution boards. I thought that these would play havoc with radio communications, and they do at times! As an experiment I opted for this unknown brand thinking that if the idea worked out, I would improve the WiFi connection later. Well, that's not been necessary.I could improve on the wireless speeds offered in this rather RF-unfriendly environment, but it would cost a great deal more to get that small increase in performance. For streaming music across 25ft of metal and RF noise it works fine, and usually for video too, although it struggles with HD film. Although it isn;t perfect, and is probably not a hotrod performance-wise, I find it useful to connect this forgotten part of the house to the network. If you use it more conservatively, for office work rather than Music and Video, you will be very contented with it.

Purchased for Raspberry Pi and had issues getting it to connect to a network on Raspbmc and also had other issues on othger OS's on the Raspberry Pi... I could have made it work on the PI I'm sure but instead I took the "Alfa AWUS036NHA" from one of my Desktops and used that for the Raspberry Pi and have since been using the "Tenda W311M" as my Main Desktops wireless adapter and it's been working plug and play with no issues on a dual boot Win7 and Linux Mint desktop. So if you need a adapter for a Raspberry Pi and you are willing to get your hands dirty this could be a good purchase for you. If you just want something thats plug and play there are other choices.I purchased this with the impression it could go into "Monitor" mode, I have not confirmed that as of today. If you need this for a Win or Linux desktop I can tell you that this is a great deal as long as you're not using it on like a Media Center PC that's going to be streaming files over your local network it's a great product for a great price and shipping was fast.Good luck!

The product arrived on time and in proper package. Speed is as published. The unit is very compact. We have been using for a few weeks. However read on.Using the CD that came with the product, the driver and the Utility were installed. Frequently the WiFi would get disconnected. Restarting the Computer or sometimes the WiFi router solved the problem. Recently the WiFi refused to connect. Restarting the Computer and the router several times did not help. Un-installing the drivers and utility and re-installing also did not resolve the issue.Online, there were some articles on this issue.I un-installed the driver and the tenda utility. Make sure in msconfig there are no startup or services entries for Tenda.Re-install the driver ONLY (NOT the Tenda utility). Restart the computer . Let Windows WLAN handle the configuration (check online how to).

I ordered this Wireless N adapter for my Windows Vista computer after seeing good reviews on another web page. I had no trouble with it at all. A driver disk is included but I got the latest from the Tenda web page. The supplied CD user guide suggests that you let Windows wireless/network management tool deal with this adapter rather than the supplied Tenda software. I think this is very good advice as I've had problems in the past where I've installed the supplied software and it has caused intermittent drop outs in the wireless connection. One thing to note is that some wireless N routers only support 150Mbps so you wont get the full 300Mbps advertised. This isn't a fault of the product though and even 150Mbps is pretty quick. So far I've used it every day for the past couple of weeks and had no issues at all, at this price you can't go wrong.

I bought this for around £5 on May 2015. As of January 15th 2016, the dongle has started to play up. Dropping connection regularly. But I have to say. I've been using my internet connection almost constantly in those months and I never witnessed any other issues. At all. For the price and the punishment it's recieved, that's perfectly acceptable in my eyes. And why I've purchased another to replace it.For anyone looking who doesn't use the internet 24/7, maybe who only browses or works online for 2/3 hours a day, I reckon this would to be a sterling buy. You won't get any better at this price. When connected via the ethernet, my broadband speeds top 47MB/s. With this dongle, around 6 feet away from the hub,I rarely dipped below 27MB/s speeds.

Great product at a great price, Zero problems to setup! Automatic driver detection! Windows XP needed the Driver which was provided in the Mini CD in the packaging. Great product by Tenda! Faster than I expected delivery by amazon! Can be used to connect to 2 WiFi Signals at a time, (If you already have a working WiFi adapter, and then you plug this little guy in, then you can connect to two WiFi Signals at the same time! you can also bridge the connections to make a one super fast connection) or you can use it if you don't have WiFi card on the desktop or if your laptop is lacking one! A normal range so to say, but So tiny that you may not even notice! So far a very useful product to have.

This is a great piece of hardware and very reasonably priced but there is a trick to installing it. I have a Win 7 machine with zonealarm firewall and antivirus. The installation went well and finished without a hitch. However, although the device installed correctly, I was unable to enable it. Therefore, no internet. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it using the software from the tenda website with the same result. It was only after I uninstalled the Tenda software AND my firewall software and reinstalled the Tenda USB adaptor using Win 7 installation only that the network card worked! After the card was working, I reinstalled my firewall software. Very happy!

I brought this wifi adapter as my Ethernet controller on my desktop became dead.I have also used with my Raspberry Pi Model B with Noobs and works flawlessly.Pros=====1. Small in size. Plugged on backside of desktop and its almost flush and unnoticeable.2. Its plug n play tested on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.3. Can be used to create wifi hotspot with the provided software.4. Signal reception is excellent for a product of this size with no external antenna.Catches decent enough signal from Dlink Dir-615L router which is located 2 rooms apart.Cons======None so far.Go ahead and buy it. U wont regret. :)

This really has turned out to be a great little wireless device for me.Installation under Windows 10 was straight forward, no need to use the driver cd supplied - I just plugged it in and the device was recognised straight away, then entered my encryption key and it connected to the Internet.I use this on my desktop pc which is in a different room to my router, and there are two solid walls between them.Signal strength is excellent with a good through put of data, I have not experienced any drop outs in the connection as yet.Very pleased with the performance of this device, considering the low price.

Good unobtrusive size. Easy to install but the onboard wireless adapter has to be disabled first. Having bought the Tenda N Router, I decided to go with this as generally it makes sense to buy separate parts from the same company to remove compatibility problems. It connects well to the router and up to now there are no dropout problems. My internet connection now shows 150mbps instead of the usual 54 but I can't say for sure this has done anything to improve my surfing speed. But psychologically I feel better! N Router and an N wireless adapter. I am up with the latest...well almost.

For the money, you'd have to say it was a good deal. The internal antenna is very small and as a result it does not handle a weak signal very well.On the plus side, it is a Plug and Play experience on the Raspberry Pi. The link activity indicator might have been a bit stronger, but that is minor criticism.I wish that there was an easier way to find out the device MAC address so it can be entered straight away into the router's MAC filter. As it is, you have to plug it into a Windows machine and connect to an active network to find out the MAC. A little long-winded.

This is a great product. Unlike the TP-Link TL-WN823N 300Mbps Mini Wireless N USB Adapter (Black) which I had purchased and was fed up since it was having some driver related issues. I had called up customer care and they are not supportive at all as they work like a govt. office and the calls gets disconnected at 6 pm sharp which is strange. I would recommend buying TENDA as they are the best in terms of product quality and consistency. Just go for this USB Wifi adapter, it is very fast and great one. A Must have for all.

The title is incorrect for this product on Amazon. The product is precisely "Tenda 150 Mbps MINI Wireless USB Adapter".It is not Nano, but yes it is very tiny, plugs to the USB with only the black chip protruding out. Like the description says, its almost invisible.Fully compatible with RPi2, with OPENELEC Kodi, pure plug and play. It has a pretty decent range coverage. This is absolute must have for RPi. Install Yatse from Google Play and control everything wireless on your RPiPrompt, ultra fast delivery in Bombay
