I purchased this as a gift for someone who's a huge fan of British History and currently lives in Scotland, I thought it would make the perfect treat for Burns night. It wasn't until recently that I got to try it myself though...I must admit, being as it's a NAS whisky I wasn't sure what to expect as I've had a bad experience with NAS whisky from a different distillery. If it hadn't have been for the Robert Burns connection I doubt I ever would have bought it, but let me tell you, having now tasted it I'm SO pleased that I did!I'm not a connoisseur of Scotch whisky so can't break the tasting experience down like some can, however what I can tell you is that this is full of character, has great body and an absolutely wonderful taste! It's on the sweeter side of Scotch (opposed to the peaty side from Islay) however that is perfect for me, the only peated whiskies I really enjoy are those done so mildly.I really wish I could put into words just how much this whisky impressed me, what I can do is mention other single malts I enjoy... Dalwhinnie 15, Singleton 12, Cragganmore 12, Benromach 10... and I would genuinely put this up there with all of them. Whether I would purchase this over one of them if they were all lined up on a shelf in front me I really couldn't say, but I will say that it deserves its place on that shelf, if you get what I mean?Being as it's from the Arran distillery I'll certainly be putting their 10 and 12 yo's on my shopping list that's for sure!

I discovered this whisky when it was being promoted by Wetherspoons' Burns celebrations: it was a revelation! Although a young single malt, it is a light, soft on the palate and slightly creamy whisky providing a warm after-glow to the back of the tongue. It was an immediate winner for me and if you like a bit more than just one tot (as I do) it makes for easy drinking. At around £29 to £35 a bottle, this 43% whisky is a very affordable enjoyment. This supplier through Amazon has been most helpful - offering good advice, a great product at a low price and a super service in the bargain. I do not hesitate to recommend both supplier and product.Howard Martin

Was served this as an accompaniment to a starter in a Scottish restaurant. Three of us in the group like malt and we all thought it was a really nice whisky. Very smooth. I appreciate everyone's palate is different for whisky (I don't like Islay malts at all) so it is a bit subjective but this is now one of my favourites. My wife is a take it or leave it whisky drinker and even she went "Ooooooooh" when I asked her to have a wee sip :)

For a bottle with no age statement there is a lot of complexity and flavour thanks to that extra 43% I certainly would recommend giving it a try. It's a nice balance of sweet and spiced oakyness at the end. Only exception is I was expecting a natural colour based on what I read online and my past experience with Arran whisky. But mine is certainly darker than what I see on whisky reviews from several years ago online.

I saw this adverted and thought I’d order a bottle in time for Burns Night. I had a sip to try it and found it enjoyable nice & peaty. I’ll look forward tasting it on Burns Night.

I bought this to celebrate Burn's Night and it is nice whisky if a bit peaty for me. It has a good balance and is quite smooth, I would recommend it.
