This unisex game has a good mix of educational quiz type games and pacman style maze adventures. I didn't want my kids to learn that animals are just cute commodities that we dress up, put in cages and enter into shows (like most DS animal games). This game is good for kids who genuinely like animals and they will learn a few facts along the way.It is quite fast paced and not too easy or too hard for my five and a half year old. But not too simple like many DS games - too hard for my 3 year old. All words are also spoken so the child doesn't have to know how to read. If you don't have many games this is a good one - not as addictive as many, not as mindless yet still fun enough that your kid will want to play.

My 6 yr old is an animal fanatic and loved this and after practice even my 4 yr old could play well and completed the games as it reads out the instructions. Needed help with some aspects such as 'what is an herbivore?' but as a result learnt loads. The range of games to gain the aminals may be limited but cover all the main game playing skills and are really informative. We all got a bit competitive on holiday and played to see who could complete first. Great game for all young kids and I've even brought this for the last 3 children's birthdays my son went to! They loved it too!

My 5 and 8 year olds love this. A friends son had it and we played the 'scratch n see' together where you reveal bits of an animal and then guess what it is.It is a 3+ and is therefore a child's game, but it also broadens their understanding of animal characteristics such as what lays eggs vs has live young etc. As this is part of basic biology and maths its effectively educational for them as well. If you like animals (it covers many varieties) and have an inquisitive and logical thinking you'll have fun with this.

I was looking for an educational game for my 5 year old son. This game is great because it is simple enough for him to play on his own and it helps educate him about animals and their habitats without him even noticing!Despite its simplicity, it's kind of addictive and other family members also like to pick it up and play.I'd recommend this game as a really good buy for parents of younger children.

Scratch and guess the animal, then answer questions on it, the quicker you answer the more questions you get to accumulate points. Other mini games as well. ideal for younger children. my daughter loves it.

Brilliant first DS game for my seven year old. He was able to start playing straight away, no help required from grown-ups. No reading required. No frustration, just fun and a sense of achievement.

I bought this for my five year old daughter and she loves it more than any other game she has played. It is fun with an educational element. Perfect! A little bit of reading involved but not much.

this game has real longevity. My 5 year old daughter has had it for 8 months, and she keeps going back to it. It is educational as well as fun.

My grandson - age 7 - requested this and was delighted with it. Think it's pretty good. Fun and educational and not too expensive.
