Like all disk locks, its not perfect, but it does the job of deterring most bike thieves.Its bright yellow. It makes a noise. its not possible to get it off without damage. So that's the deterrent part handled.Its likely that an organised thief can disable it or remove it quickly enough to get away, but that is the same with any lock. A single device cannot prevent all theft. The trick is to use multiple devices that they would need to work through. I'm not saying what else I use!

Was looking for this kind of product and came across this Abus RS1 disc lock alarm. Received it in good time from seller. This is a good solid looking lock and is thactham approved i think so next years insurance maybe a little cheaper hopefully.Alarm will certainly get noticed. Peace of mind product this. Don't know how long the batteries last but they are AAA's. If they drain quickly i may opt for rechargeables. They are easy to change too. Would recommend this product.

I have a variety of security for my bike, but felt something with an alarm would make sense. This attaches quickly, stored in a neoprene (I think) case in the pannier. I added a bright orange curly cable to wrap around a handlebar to make sure I remembered it was there .. but so far it leaves me pretty confident the bike will still be there when I get back to it. Alarm isn't really as loud as I expected .. but better than nothing.

Bought this over a Xena, as those had many negative ratings with regards to false alarms. Hadn't had a single one with this. I wish it was a bit louder and for a longer period, but its better than nothing. You can also lock the disc without activating the alarm.The alarm is sensitive enough to go off as soon as you lift the bike of it's side stand, so no chance of driving off and smashing your brake set up

high quality easy to use good volume perfect sensitivity -love it that much bought another and use one on front disk and one on rear disk-HAD FISRT ONE 2 YEARS NOW NO PROBLEMS!!!!

Nice solid lock, with a loud alarm. Doesn't come with a memory cable and tends to go off for a second if you don't get the key in and unlocked quickly - very sensitive.

Great piece of kit just as described this a reliable brand easy to operate looks the part too, if you are look for a alarm and lock the look no further.
