Honestly, the reviews people have given are unfortunately not doing justice to this item.A docking station is suppose to be a DOCKING STATION! A good little tool for charging the controller plugs into the ps3 via usb while the station is on the docking station actually changes colour green through to red and so on several colours the only real problem is that like charging with the normal lead you have to have the ps3 switched on when the controller is in the docking position which i think sony could have sorted it in a way that perhaps either the ps3 switchs off after a full charge or the usb stays live untill fully charged but thats not the issue here it is a good little gadget looks good when alive allso gives you a stand for the controller when not in use i purchased this with the verticall stand and they both look good togetherI

I've read some of the reviews for the charging dock and think that, in the main, the negative ones boil down to a simple premise: that the PS3 has to remain on to charge the controller. This may appear to be redundant, particularly as the PS3 comes with a charging cable of its own that allows the use of the controller whilst still allowing the user to play games.However, it was immediately apparent to me that I did not need to keep the PS3 on all night to charge the controller with this item - I could just plug it into one of the USB ports on my PC and charge it that way.If there is a problem with the controller, it is that it has to be charged via USB - so rather than bad mouth this product,

Why are people slagging this device off?...It doesn't claim to be anything it isn't. It's a DOCK, yes, what did you expect when you bought it!? Of course you can't dock it and play it at the same time, that's the point of it...you DOCK it.I love this product, I leave it glowing when I play, it's nice and relaxing, creates a nice ambience in the room. It's not supposed to be an essential accessory, it's a novelty item.My only critism is that it's not that easy to match up the joypad USB with the USB connect on the dock, however that's not big issue.Verdict : It looks pretty and does what it says.

I love this product,it looks great next to my tv. I liked this product so much i now have 2 of them and they are placed on my black glass stand either side of my tv, they look amazing in the dark lighting up the room, the light also create a reflection in the glass stand so that gives u a cool effect. Looks great next to my ps3 and my 32" tv and glass stand, however it may not look so gd in a room wiv not so nice stuff they look really tacky if they are just place on a desk or shelf. gd buy shame it has to be connected through usb rather than stand plug, but i can live with that gd product worth buying

I have to reiterate the positive reviews for this product- as a dock it does its job perfectly. It provides a place to house your controller, whilst keeping the cable at the back well hidden. The lighting effects and the changing colours add a touch of ambience as the controller is charging and the light on the front of the dock changes colour from red to green when the controller is fully charged.I can understand the annoyance of having to plug it into a live USB port. A solid and well made charging dock for the SIXAXIS which looks smart in the Home theatre environment, whether you use the neon light effects on or off !Though not yet available on Amazon, there 'is' also a 'Nyko - Dual charge AC adaptor' available (power input universal 110 to 240 .. if purchased fm US ...well made and still good value regardless of shipping!) This then gives the perfect partner to the Charging Dock here... regardless of PS3 being on or off !

This is a neat little charger, doubles as a cosy home for your controller when it's not being used, or keeping that 2nd controller charged up whilst using the other one. Doubled with the vertical stand, it's great, keeps those visible gastly cables to a minimum. Down side is that you cant charge them without the ps3 being on, but I watch a dvd or blu ray while it charges, so no big deal there! Good buy!

Great bit of sturdy kit, which looks really good, particularly at night. The only minor niggle is that the PS3 has to remain switched on when charging, but I tend to only have it on when I'm playing, which is when I need the controller - Therefore you have to leave the PS3 turned on whilst charging, which also means you have to turn the screen off separately. Not the end of the world though!

i brought this for my ps3 and thinks its a cool little charging dock. i have 2 controllers and it is usefull as wen one goes dead just change it over and carry on gaming while the other controller is on charge. if you only have one controller then dont bother and just use the usb cable

The charging dock was what i expected, very good value for the money and would do bussines in the future, fast delivery and in good condition when delivered (with no damage from delivery).

does everything it says and u dont have the problem of seeing cables every where and the lighting is pretty cool but i like that sort of thing worth the money 10/10 for me buy it

To all those moaning about the unit, and having to leave the unit on - simply use a USB-b mains charger from a bluetooth headset or something - works fine and is on permanently.

Not much to add to the praise already written by other reviewers.Fun product especially when you have the matching stand for the ps3 as well, you can hardly fail.
