I wish I'd read more than just the 'headlines', as melamine resin (apparently also known as melamine formaldehyde) a type of plastic is used (probably as a binder for the bamboo and corn). From some research, it seems that there is a food safe level of this, and I'm sure that this cup is safe but there is no reference to meeting a food safety standard that I can find. It isn't really what I was after - especially when spending over £10. So, my fault for not reading the small print until I received it.

Great for saving on expensive coffee (Costa etc).However, it gets very hot (no protection against heat) and the silicone sleeve keeps slipping off.
