One thing you learn as an adult - you get what you pay for with scented candles. Yes you can get cheaper candles that certainly have an aroma in the shop but when you get them home and burn them, the scent is either absent or smells different or just doesnt linger. Many a time ive stood by the mantle piece so close to a candle im burning my nose hairs trying to smell something from yet another cheap purchase.Then you get given (probably - i was " how much? im not paying that for a candle!") a Yankee candle. You stick it on the mantle piece next to given up on cheaper models and you light it. As you sit there looking at it gently flickering you realise,

Received this item promptly and the item was well packaged (see photos) this is our first purchase of a Yankee Candle as I could not justify the price normally, this was a present for my wife for mother`s day from our children. Initial impressions are very good, this item came in a box with other goods and as soon as I opened the outer box I could smell "Cherries" which is okay by me as I love them! I was surprised at the weight of the jar, much heavier than I was expecting - which is a good thing, the quality of this item seems to be good so far, I have only deducted a star due to it`s hefty price tag, this was tried out on Sunday and within a few hours of lighting the wick our lounge area was full of a rich cherry aroma,

I have to say that I am a lover of Yankee Candles, so couldn't wait to get this one.It has a lovely refreshing fruity smell, it is hard to breakdown the different fragrances that are in it as they combine so well. It smells to me like a fruit salad chew.The candle comes well packaged in a polystyrene container and with no room to manoeuvre should arrive without any damage.The thing with Yankee Candles as well is, if you are going to burn one you have to have enough time. A pool of molten wax should cover the top of the candle when burning. If you don't let it burn properly you run the risk of the candle tunnelling, which means you are left with lots of wax on the outside and a big hole in the middle.

I purchased this particular candle as I smelt it at a friends house. It just reminded me of the summer. It has a very light but addicting smell to it. It fills the entire house of a cozy feel and the scent lasts long even after blowing out. If you are like me and enjoying lighting scented candles in your home, I recommend you purchase this one. The good thing is that I like lighting candles in my home, especially the kitchen if I have cooked something the day before and you can smell abit of the food the next day. Lighting Yankee candles are much better than spraying the house out, especially the kitchen with air freshner. So if you are considering this purchase, do it as you will not be disappointed.

I wish there weren't so many idiots out there.The reason the candles produce black smoke and soot is because you are not cutting the wick down to 3mm before each use as per Yankee Candle's instructions. If the candle is creating a tunnel and not burning the outside, that's because you aren't letting the candle burn for long enough for it to create a pool of wax. Again, this is in Yankee Candle's instructions.If you don't follow the advice, then expect to have black sooty walls and a big hole down the middle of the candle.There is NOTHING wrong with these candles, the people leaving 1 star reviews have not followed the proper advice for these candles and so they think they're bad because the candle hasn't performed as expected,

This is one of those smells that has you wishing you could scoop out the contents of the jar with your hands and eat it: very sweet and fruity but not sickly or overpowering. They could even safely make the smell even stronger.My only gripe is that it suffered from tunneling, and by the time the wick burned out I still had about 2/3 of the candle left around the sides of the jar. I left it burning for a good few hours when it was first lit, but it didn't make any difference. Also it's not always practical to leave it burning for hours every time you light it, so two wicks (as can be seen in similar candles from places like Village Candle) would be a better solution.It did at least burn very cleanly without producing soot,

My absolute favourite candle scent! Definitely one of the best ones out of the lot!This candle is an amazing, wonderful size & lasts ages.A good thing is that the smell from this is potent enough that it spreads around rooms/the flat, but not so much that it has that sort of sickly feeling to it, you know? As soon as I open the lid of the jar I can smell it. Much better than cheaper candles that you have to stick your nose in to smell! Lol :-)One worrying thing about it is that I have loads of grandkids and something as heavy as this, if dropped, would probably knock them out. Be sure to keep this out of the reach of kids!

Ordered this for my brother as he doesn't exactly keep his room fresh although he does enjoy candles.I didn't want to buy him a large jar as i'd already bought lots of presents for him coming up to christmas and spent a fortune on large jars for other people.The scent of the black cherry yankee will always remain one of my favourites. Fresh, but sweet and comforting.It's a small jar, but they still last for ages and are well worth the price. There is a reason why Yankee Candles are the most popular, and that is because of the rich quality of the aromas they release.Also it's simply adorable and cute in this size.

Yankee candles are my absolute favourite. I have never found another scented candle that actually fragrances a large room (or even a house - I live in bungalow and it does the job for the whole house).This is one of my very favourite fragrances; I love the fresh and floral ones and this is great mix of that. It arrived quickly and well packaged, all in tact. The large jars last me months and months, even with frequent use, and I'm sure this one will do the same. I still have some that inevied for Christmas last year! Also, I got this for in the £13-14 range which is a bargain for Yankee candles, large jars.

Instead of writing a long review which I know can be a bit to read, I will keep this short and sweet.Pros:Strong cherry/ floral scentBurns for 3-4 hours depending on the wick size (some are longer than others)When burned the room in envigorated with the cherry scent which usually lasts all dayCandles arrived on timeCons:Box came kinda crushedDepending on your taste the strong cherry/floral scent may be overpoweringOverall, Yankee candle have managed to provide a good candle for It's size and Amazon have provided a good service and price,So I recommend this product.

Yankee's Black Cherry candles offer an absolutely intoxicating and mouthwatering scent that is faintly reminiscent of the way Tunes used to smell back about twenty years ago. I tend to burn this one downstairs in the living room and I leave all the doors open and honestly I can smell it even from halfway on the stairs in the hallway.As strong as the scent is, it doesn't become overwhelming or headache inducing (which is sometimes an issue for scented candles). Really fills your senses. Have had visitors comment that it's a lovely inviting and welcoming smell to come in to.

This is a well made scented candle in a substantial jar with sealing lid. It's the ideal size for a gift. I know a few women who collect these candles and they're great when you fancy scented candles with a bubble bath. The only thing I don't like is the strong 'tropical jungle' perfume, which is too sweet and sickly for my tastes. I tend to like citrus or floral.I'm sure it will be well received as a gift if the recipient likes sweet-fruity candles.

5star for the second candle that we had to order... first candle courier left behind the bin and was what i assume stolen... second candle was down the side of the bin in full view off passing people to see.. as it was raining box was mush when i picked it up.. but the candle its self no problems at all... may need to think about courier change or change instructions on leaving parcel out in open.. happy with candle tho..

Really like the jar and lid design and the scent is very uplifting. Smells much stronger before you light it, but it's a pleasantly mild scent once it's burning.This has lasted very well. I think that although I was shocked by the price, it would probably end up being good value as I reckon this has lasted more than 50 hours.If you are looking for a nice gift, these are quite collectable.

I like how the scent on this one is quite strong so you don't need it lit for long for the effect. It's quite sweet, which is unusual for me to like but this one is an exception. Lasts ages. And the wick doesn't char easily on this particular one so i don't need to trim the wick as often to avoid black smoke from it.Quick delivery and got it in the pre xmas sale so was cheap.
