I bought this as a quick fix for my mistake in buying a difficult to assemble Octagon of almost the same size. The Westcott saved me a lot of worryand sweat on the day of a high pressure shoot, and I wish I'd found it before the Octagon, which cost more than twice the price. Anyway, the 2.2mumbrella is great value and does a brilliant job of lighting a large set and producing soft shadows. Probably not as durable as the Profoto archetype, but solid and useful, nonetheless. If you use Elinchroms, you will find the shaft won't fit the proprietry channel the heads provide for true centre lighting of the umbrella, and you will have to use additional angled umbrella fittings between the stands and the heads,

Perfect for taking photos of groups of people, I use this currently for groups as it saves using two lights when this huge Umbrella covers a alot of people.As this item is approx: 7 ft make sure you have the room to set it up as it does take a lot of space. I have this fitted to my Bowens strobe light and works perfectly, The black section of the umbrella covers off and can be used as a shoot through as well.If on location make sure the stand is weighted down as the slightest wind and it's mary poppins time. Good delivery time100% happy with this item. Build quality is excellent comes with nice case/sleeve to protect from dirt and dust and then comes in a nice solid tube for extra protection.

I got this in the mail yesterday and, despite reading all of the reviews, was shocked at how big it was. This thing is huge. Good luck using it with a normal bedroom height ceiling. Yes, you can do it, as my picture shows, but it is a beast. I have it set up with two YN560s and it puts out a ton of light. The photo I attached is at 1/128 power for both lights in a nearly dark room. With the size of the umbrella, it lights up everything with soft wrap around light. A great purchase and a good tool for portrait and group work. I know my example is not the best, but my dog was the only one I could get to volunteer to pose for me. Notice how at ISO 100,

This is an AMAZING light modifier! I purchased this along with a Alien Bee AB1600 and took them out for the first time at a prom portrait session. My AB1600/Vagabond mini worked flawlessly and this big umbrella delivered amazing light on two beautiful girls. My whole set up was not really that heavy and the fact that I can fold the umbrella up and carry it in a case on my shoulder makes it a winner for on location shooting vs. my 35" or 47" octaboxes. I pray that the pole holds up well after continued use but it has my vote so far!

This Parabolic produces beautiful soft light. I can't explain how much so. I find it to be very well made especially at this price point. I use it with a monolight strobe and at times 3 speedlights on a tri mount. I'm so happy I purchased this and now have it in my arsenal (which I expect to be using as often as I can). It's deeper then what the pics show and has a sense professionalism That I haven't seen with other umbrellas and most modifiers. I'm amazed I can buy this for $100 and not thousands. Thank you Westcott!

I'm pleased with the item, it's made of quality materials, light, and portable when using with included case. Otherwise, once opened it's huge! When placing it at proper distance gives soft nice transitions. I tried using this umbrella with three yongnuo 560 speedlights attached to ePhoto's triple hotshoe and a regular light stand, worked without problems. One caveat, don't jeopardize your gear, be aware with the wind when using it outside, it might become some sort of undesirable paraglid.

excellent umbrella, would of liked a slightly stronger staff, still love it though. tried and tested, would only use at 3/4 way down on staff from centre as near the end bends a little.which would take your light off centre. if you position your light correctly no problem at 3/4 way down shaft,. but saying that would recommend it. i use a SODIAL(R) 3 in 1 All-metal Tri-Hot Shoe Mount Adapter fr Flash Holder Bracket Light Stand which umbrella staff fits in easily.

Very soft light and affordable. Have also bought the sliver one which gives a slightly crisper light and a bit more output. I bought the diffuser as well which is brilliant.Only criticism is that the umbrella shaft although starts at 7mm tapers quickly to 8mm so is not suitable for Elinchrom 7mm fitting, despite the packaging saying otherwise.

I had been thinking about buying a really big lighting modifier for a long time to compliment my 3x3 softbox. I was not disappointed when I finally decided to buy this umbrella. It works great with the Profoto D1 and so far I have used it for group shots, straight on, standing between the motif and the light source.

I love my 7" Westscott umbrellas. I have this one and the white shoot through. Great portability, which is key for traveling and easy setup on location. Get a decent heavy duty umbrella mount for your light stand so it will hold and be stable, but an incredible light shaping tool at an incredible price.

Lovely... well made and give beautiful light. I bought it to use with my Profoto brolly - I can barely tell the difference in light and the quality is only 5-10% off that of the Profoto but 1/3rd the price! Recommend this as a good option if you're thinking of purchasing ...

I purchased this Umbrella to do one light family portraits and groups and it fits the job perfect. the lighting quality is soft and very smooth, however you do need some flash power to cover the larger groups 400-600 watts. it will work with strobies also on close up work

My only issue with this umbrella is that it has a hollow shaft. I wish it had a solid shaft instead. This is fine for studio use but I would question its durability for location. It does provide a beautiful soft light and I can't complain about the price.

I love the light quality that comes out from this umbrella. A great price, excellent build quality. Its a little heavy so you need a really good light stand and umbrella adapter. It does not fit the Elinchrom D-lite 4 build in umbrella hole.

This thing is enormous it provides a great soft light it is good construction. the frame is very solid. The umbrella is stitched to the frame and one came loose not a huge issue and it can happen I will repair it. It is a simple fix
