I concur with all those who point out that there are no miracle cellulite cures to be provided by potions and lotions - the lymphatic system is going to be best stimulated by good hydration, a minimum of toxins in the diet, exercise - and, as several have said, dry skin brushing to improve circulation, and get rid of dead epidermal cells.But......I would far far rather be using a natural product - vegetable carrier oils compatible with skin, penetrating the epidermis, and plant extracts which, when massaged in, have a slight 'deep heat' action, helping with the circulation. I also like the aroma of this, and the fact that (unless you want to turn into an oil slick) you only need a tiny amount, and if you massage it vigorously into butt, thighs and other cellulitish spots, it will absorb quickly. I was certainly NOT left with oil stains, as I only use a small amount. This did not irritate my skin, but there was a slight tingle for a few moments after application - which may well have been down to the vigour of massage - I do get the same feeling after dry skin brushing. My skin has been left soft and smooth, but without the claggy, coated feeling which mineral oils, or creams with a mineral, as opposed to vegetable carrier base haveStorage is properly done too - Weleda have protected the essential oils from the degrading effects caused by light, by coloured glass, and the bottle is unreactive with the contents - glass, rather than plasticYes, it might be seen as a little overpriced, though probably comparable with other completely botanical products of similar ilk designed for similar markets.

After attending a fabulous spa day where I had a full body massage, I noticed the appearance of my cellulite had dramatically improved. I researched this further and came across the concept of body brushing incorporating the use of massage oils as a way to combat cellulite and improve skin quality.I have been a fan of both now for just over two months and have seen dramatic improvements. This particular oil is wonderful to use for this type of regime. It is very good quality, a reasonable consistency (not too runny), absorbs in to the skin well and has a lovely fragrance (mainly a citrus smell.I use the oil twice a day, combined with a full body brush.I spend a little longer brushing stubborn areas (for me this is thighs and bottom). I normally do this before a bath or shower and then apply the oil afterwards with a further vigorous massage.Having spent the equivalent of the third world debt on cellulite treatments, this type of approach actually works whereas topical creams generally do not however much you spend on them! Massage is most definitely the key combined with a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise. However, you need to commit to this type of regime and aim to spend time each day brushing and massaging otherwise it will not work. Over a period of time (possibly several months) I'm hoping my cellulite may disappear altogether! Hoorah.I intend to try other oils in this range as I find a mature skin responds far better to oils than creams post 45.

I've used the Weleda birch scrub and that was absolutely amazing, super smooth skin and a delicious scent. The scent matches the Weleda birch scrub, which is sooo nice. It's really zesty and fresh, very sharp and citrussy. It's really lovely to use after a morning shower to wake your senses. The yellow oil is quite thick so it's easy to pour a bit out on to one leg and slightly rub in before doing the same on the other leg and putting the bottle down to begin massaging (and avoid getting the bottle annoyingly oily).I had one bottle of this to try and it lasted me just over a month (using once a day quite generously on both my upper thighs).I only have some slight dimpling when I sit down and I think that it has made a bit of a difference. It comes in a solid green glass medicinal looking bottle within a smart green glossy cardboard box. I know some people aren't keen on glass in the bathroom so it's worth mentioning, but it seems very thick and sturdy.I'm not rushing out to get another bottle but would consider repurchasing it if my legs get worse as I do think it works.I wish that there was a slightly cheaper non-treatment version of this oil as a simple body oil as I love the scent and would definitely use it just for that!

I love Weleda products generally speaking but I was a bit sceptical about how much difference this oil would make when it comes to combating cellulite. But I thought that I give it a shot... it's just amazing. I did not have big cellulite problem but there were patches on my tights esp at the back which I have had for years and somehow struggled to get rid of (ok I did not try my hardest ;) I have some sort of healthy life style, I started to jog and I generally watch what I eat so but since I started to use that oil, cellulite on my legs significantly improved. I massage my legs in shower and apply oil afterwards and it made a huge difference (in relatively short period of time).I hope if I go on like that I'll be able completely minimise those patches.... It's a great product and I would definitely recommend it. As for paying a bit extra as other reviews mentioned, I am willing to pay few quids extra for getting a great product, which is purely natural and also if you check welleda website, their business model and approach to production it is great way how to go forward and I am willing to support companies like that (ok now my review has a hint of PR :) but I am in no way related to the company I just truly like their products).

I have never used a cellulite product that actually works. I got the oil from a friend of mine as I would never bother buying it myself. I am so sceptical about products of this kind that it has been sitting in my bathroom cabinet for one year (so my batch is one month out of date).I have not been using it long enough (2 weeks, not as regularly as suggested on the bottle) to be 100% sure but when I looked at my legs yesterday I was very surprised (to the point I looked second and a third time. I even put my glasses on because what i saw didn't add up :-) I don't have a huge cellulite problem but still the result so far is more than I expected. The oil absorbs instantly (so no sliding off your sofa)and smells great . I gave it 4 stars because i have not been using it long enough to be 100% sure of the oil's magical powers. so far so good.p.s.I exercise and don't eat junk food (except sweets)

It's a fact that you can't get *rid* of cellulite but you can certainly reduce how obvious it is by making lifestyle changes (less caffeine, more water and exercise) and by dry brushing and massaging. These products really serve to help with the last and will "make" you regularly rub the area thereby increasing the circulation and improving the appearance and feel. I usually don't subscribe to these sorts of treatments but I confess I really like weleds products as they are high quality not packed full of additives and gegerslly smell great. This is no exception, and after several days I have noticed my skin feeling softer and slightly better appearance. The cellulite will never go away but this really feels nice and smells lovely too. If you're going to pick something to try then this is a good option

This is a really lovely oil. It comes in a generous sized bottle in a usual unfussy Weleda design. You don't need a lot of the oil. I used about a teaspoonful on my lower body and a similar amount on my upper body. I used it after exfoliating my body with Weleda Birch exfoliating wash, so my skin was pretty thirsty. However, this oil still absorbed quickly and left no residue. The instructions do suggest using it twice a day for the anti cellulite properties to work. I think that's a tall order in a busy life, and I'm quite happy to use it once a day under my body cream or butter .....just to nourish my skin.If you're looking to help get rid of cellulite.....well I'm not sure this would work....I'm not sure anything works frankly.A lovely natural product.....the usual Weleda quality.

I have been using this oil for some weeks now (not daily but with consistency) and it seems to do a very good job! I have been going to gym and losing weight to my skin is not as elastic and nice and I'd like it be, this oil helps and you can notice and incredible difference even on the same day of use! The skin become soft and glows!I'm not sure it makes my cellilites goes away, I do try to massage it imitating a cellulite message rather than just putting it on to moisture on my thighs and butt chicks area, but dieting and going to the gym must also have part in the reduction of the dreaded cellulite I am seeing.Nevertheless I am happy with my purchase!

This oil has a sort of citrus smell to it. It is quite thick and has a sort of stopper on the bottle that you would normally see on an essential oil. This does not mean it comes out in drops though - it still pours out so take care! Initially it recommends applying twice a day for the first 4 weeks, then once a day after that. What I notice is that you need quite a lot per application so this bottle will not last very long at all. It will probably do the four weeks, then you'll need to buy another bottle after that. Saying that though, it does leave your skin feeling lovely and soft, it's almost like a dry oil as my hands were not left greasy!

This oil is brilliant. Like most products of this type you can't just use it alone. I go to the gym and eat (relatively) healthily and use it twice a day, and it has definitely made a difference. While I won't be wearing hotpants any time soon, it's worked wonders on the sides of my thighs and my knees...definitely a keeper - but you have to commit to using it though. And I like the smell...although the bottle can be slippery..otherwise definitely will be buying more. It's bargain as well - considering it's price at Boots on the Weleda site. Win!

This Weleda oil certainly seems to be the business. It smells divine, goes onto your skin beautifully, absorbing very quickly and, apart from making your skin feel smooth and silky - it definitely does make a difference to the texture of skin that has gone a bit wobbly. There are lots of other things you can do to help make your skin healthy, clear and glowing - and this lovely oil definitely is worth adding to your regime because it will support what you are doing and definitely make a visible difference.

I have been using this oil for over a year now. I love the smell and the effect it gives to my skin. The cellulite is much less than it used to be after I stopped taking birth control pills and it is a great product.Twice a week I also use a homemade scrub with Organic Sesame Oil (basically the one you put in my salad) and a spoonful of coffee ground to reduce the appearance of cellulite.Anyway ladies the secret is exercising, drinking several litres of water everyday and eating extremely healthily.

Feels good going on and smells good. Rather than see this as a 'cure' for cellulite though it is more of an enhancement to vigorous massage amid brushing which has been known to break down the fatty cells. You could of course do this without the oil and get the same results but it would be uncomfortable and painful where as this oil makes it a far more pleasant experience. So with a bit of effort and this oil and a good skin brush to massage the problem areas you do see a difference quite quickly

26.2.2012

I think this oil is really brilliant! It has definitely helped my cellulite and toned my skin even though I have only used it once a day for the last month. I use it in conjunction with the Birch scrub which is also great. The smell is divine and it feels lovely on application. As with the first reviewer, I eat really healthy, take supplements and I also work out 5/6 days a week, so I think it's important to note that these are also requisites for getting rid of cellulite for good!

15.7.2014

I have been using this oil for the last two or three years and I highly recommend it. It really does improve the appearance of your skin. My cellulite, I am told, has virtually disappeared but I don't know if I can attribute that to the oil alone. Having a careful diet, exercising and not drinking alcohol has, I suspect, played a big part too. But I have tried many other products from big name brands and the Weleda oil is by far the best.
