This product is amazing! I have very sensitive skin, yet it causes no reaction even on my face. I was getting dry cheeks with the heating coming on and colder weather so I used it daily on my cheeks and it cured my dry skin and never gave me one spot, and i tend to get a few spots with a lot of facial moisturisers even boots no7 and such. It has a smell which isn't perfumed its something else i cant quite describe, but I really like it. My mum also uses this daily on her face she's just turned 50 and doesn't look it, and I'm not just been kind as she's my mum! She adores the smell, its noticeable at first and fades quickly but I really can't describe it its not floral or perfumed at all though. Its great it soaks in in a few minutes but it must be left to soak in before make up can be applied if you use it on a morning, its great to put on before bed too. Me and mum use it morning and evening, I can be lazy and not bother sometimes but mum has a good routine. Its especially great for the change in weather and mum walks our 2 dogs and it really protects the skin we have found. She never gets dry skin on her face after starting to use this, neither do I, and I do suffer with the odd patch. It works equally well on the body but I mainly use it for my face and use e45 on my body as often as possible to keep my skin fed and moisturised. One thing I will say is it was £7.50 when mum last bought it in November 2014 and I have gone to purchase some now in December 2014 its less than 2 weeks later and its gone up in price. I'm a bit annoyed so ill wait and see I have enough left for a month or so in my tube but I don't like to run out. We have both used this for about 2 years now, and love it! Can't recommend it highly enough. 5/5!For full disclosure: I also use the full benefit skin care range which i highly recommend especially the come back serum, but it is more pricey but it is fantastic for me (nearly 30 years old)- some good value boxes on over xmas and they do a mini version of all the skin care products to trail at £15 if anyone is interested. the only exceptions or additions i use are this skin food and simple eye balm - which again is amazing, very light yet effective and soothing on my eye area espec if its a bit dry or sore from make up removal, my fave to use on a night and the benefit on a morning as its potent has a wake up effect or so they say but i like it - and the simple is about 3/4 pounds on here and in the shops and often on 342 in boots and super drug. This skin food is worth trying you can try the 30ml (currently in a Xmas cracker at £5.75 but its always around £6 ish) but the 75ml is much better value. It was £7.50 but now its at £8.50 - I think its a price that worth trying. Sometimes beauty bloggers, celebs and sample companies rave about it, I believe it has a string celeb following which I was surprised due to the price yet please and not that surprised as its so good, to read in the daily mail recently. Sometimes latest in beauty and you beauty discovery include it in their sample boxes - don't think its in anything at the moment though. The you beauty advent calendar looks amazing FYI I have one! Worth a google to look at reviews and stuff.

Weleda do not package their products in fancy packaging; this comes in a small green tube, a bit like a mini toothpaste or ointment tube. I don't know what the full sized one looks like but I suspect it is similar. This small tube comes in an outer cardboard box, again like toothpaste does.In order to open the tube you have to use the lid to pierce the metal seal. This makes it tamper proof and means that nothing nasty can have been added after it left the factory. This is not hard to do and I like the feeling of security it gives. The cream itself is actually quite thick and a creamy colour. It smells like a fresh herb sort of bergamot orange with other herbs; a combination of those used in the product such as chamomile, calendula and lavender. I like the smell. It isn't sweet and feminine at all, in fact it is clean and fresh, slightly masculine and a bit like some ointments.I have only used this on my elbows, hands and as a special treat and in the interests of reviewing I gave my feet a treat too. I find it is really good for hands and elbows. My feet enjoyed their treat too. The cream is quite thick and feels quite intense but once massaged in my elbows felt nice and well fed but not greasy at all. My hands also felt lovely and soft and smooth and I was able to read on my tablet soon after applying as there was no slippery greasy feel.I was also very kind and allowed my husband to use some of his hands as they get very dry and cracked with eczema. This and the Body Shop hemp hand cream both helped a lot with healing them. he is not very good at regularly applying creams on his hands and that is why they get so bad.The scent lingers for quite some time and as I like the smell, I can work on the laptop and enjoy the scent on my hands as I type. This lovely intense cream is full of natural goodies Water, Sunflower Seed Oil, Lanolin, Sweet Almond Oil, Alcohol, Beeswax, Glyceryl Linoleate, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Viola Tricolor Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Cholesterol, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citral and Coumarin. Despite some of the Latin names these are all natural ingredients. It reminds me in texture of Body Shop hand cream, the Hemp one. It is similarly thick and feels similar in texture. As it is so thick and intense you need only a little for the moisturising benefits to take effect.I have been a fan of Weleda for some time and am yet to find a product that I do not like. They are not the cheapest option around , especially if you buy them in the UK but I do think they are good quality products produced using ethically sourced ingredients.

Weleda make some wonderful creams and this, to my mind, is their best. As so many other reviewers have mentioned it is extremely good for dry and "difficult" skin, as well as for those of us who are trying to keep some of the ravages of time at bay. I spend a lot of time working out of doors and find this superb for replenishing the moisture and suppleness lost due to harsh weather. It is extremely thick so a little goes a long way and I like to use a hot flannel on my face to open up the pores before applying it as it sinks in better. I also prefer to put it on whilst my skin is slightly damp as the water then gets sealed in thus making the cream even better. The latter is a good thing to do with all cosmetic creams.I use it on any particularly dry bits on my body (brilliant on knees and elbows), put it on my son's eczema and sometimes put a good wodge onto my feet and then go to bed in socks to help it sink in. For those people lucky enough to spend time skiing or in high altitude areas it is brilliant: extremely cold weather means creams should be high in oils and not in water as the water content in such creams doesn't do the skin any good at all and can cause redness and tightness. Add to that the fact that Weleda's products are natural and you have something which should be in everybody's cosmetic cabinet.

I was skeptical. After trying 5 or 6 different moisturisers, I didn't have high hopes for this, so I bought the smaller bottle. I will definitely be buying the larger one next!It has a strong smell, which I like, but others may not. It is very thick, and initially leaves skin feeling oily, but once it has absorbed, skin is soft and silky.I bought this for a huge but minor burn on my forearm. For weeks, despite being healed, the skin has been dry and itchy, I have not been able to get rid of the scaly skin. I tried loads of different brands, none of which helped. 48 hours after using this and the skin is already smoother and no longer itching. It has done in 48 hours what multiple other moisturisers have failed to do over the last 6+ weeks.Face. I have sensitive skin on my face, however, even during my menstrual cycle, this moisturiser hasn't caused spots or irritation. In fact, this month I am surprisingly spot free. I'm not prone to spots generally, but during that time of the month I do tend to get a couple. Not this month though. I don't know if it is definitely due to this product, or if it's a coincidence or a fluke. I will keep using this product and update when I figure out if my clear skin is thanks to this moisturiser, or if the Period Gods have just smiled down on me this month LOL.

Very rich moisturising and nourishing day and night cream. I use it on rough, dry skin on the body; hands, elbows, knees but not on my face as its too rich.It would be ideal as a protective cream in harsh weather or outdoors in winter. Contains extracts of soothing chamomile, calendula, wild pansy and a blend of enriching oils and waxes to provide a fine protective barrier against wind and weather.Lanolin, Almond oil and Peanut oil are three of the main ingredients of the base. Lanolin, chemically, is almost identical to sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin. It is therefore an ideal substance to ‘feed’ to dry skin. Both Almond and Peanut oil soften and soothe the skin and also assist in the penetration of other soothing, rejuvenating ingredients.Weleda Skin Food can be used as a nourishing day and night cream. It is good for rough, dry skin anywhere on the body; face, hands, elbows, knees etc. It can be used as a protective cream in harsh weather and is excellent for anyone regularly out of doors.Directions for use: Apply sparingly as required. Gently smooth into the skin. On the face avoid area around the eyes. Intensive care for hard working hands: apply liberally, cover with cotton gloves and leave overnight.Weleda Skin Food is suitable for vegetarians.

Man, I love this product. I get really bad eczema on my hands and feet that make it really painful to get on with day to day life. I've waited to do a review on it because I wanted to give it a accurate review. But honestly, I've been using this for more than 3 weeks now and the improvement to my skin is a welcome respite, not only for my hands and my feet but my skin over all is simply lovely. I have used every moisturizer I could think of.. and I mean everything, eczema creams, steroid creams, aveeno creams, E45, every moisturizer on the planet, i have used. Nothing worked, until this. My skin would have a bad reaction to some of them due to having sensitive skin. Not with this. The smell is like, pine and lemongrass, very light, in my opinion. I'm not bothered by the smell. The only thing is that it's quite hard to spread, so warming up between fingers before application is a must. Only a little on the face goes a long way, I even use is under my makeup I love it so much. Finally a good moisturiser that works for extremely dry eczema prone skin.Would definitely recommend, enough so I just bought two more tubes ! Haha

I have dry fingers, in particular in the fall and winter months. Following some DIY or garden work they are guaranteed to split open at the tips which is very painful. So I’ll have to take constant care and treat my hands with moisturising and protective cream. I have used wide range of creams. But this Weleda cream stands out to nourish and hydrate my hands. While not providing a permanent solution or cure, it does leave a refreshed and protected feeling after applying. While I use it for my hands with satisfy fin results the cream is apparently suitable for other pasts of the body as well like your face and feet. Though I've only used it to hydrate my dry and flaky elbows as well. You’ll only have to apply a tiny amount. And the cream doesn’t leave and greasy, oily feel afterward while it has a faint fruity/medical smell.Weldea is a somewhat unassuming but high quality brand product made from natural ingredients. And despite its premium characteristics you can get it for a very reasonable price.

Yea, it sounds gross and don't worry, I'm not going to put any pictures of my face up (you're welcome) but this skin food has really helped. As soon as the weather starts to take a turn (so in UK...about midnight on 1st September), my skin notices the change and I get red all round the nose. I've tried other creams but they haven't really helped the problem, only soothed them.Thankfully, Skin Food has worked a treat. I probably put it on about 4-5 times a day and it calmed the redness of psoriasis down in a week and then prevented it from flaring up again. It's not like other creams that are more aqueous and easily to rub into your skin. This one feels a bit harder but does rub in,yet leaves you feeling and looking a bit 'oily' for ten minutes or so until it's fully absorbed. It also has a unique smell so if you're irritated by smells then this might not be for you. If you're not bothered then smear it on your face and enjoy a fresh look!

If you are used to water based creams that soak in immediately and you want this for your face, you will have to have a little trust and blind faith on first use! Initially, everything about the consistency screams wrong and the feeling on first use it is one of smearing lip balm all over your face and you'll wonder what you have done....let it sink in, however, and you'll be really surprised. I absolutely love it, it just takes a little getting used to. I use it under a tinted moisturiser and it behaves perfectly, I use it as night cream and it is now my general summer and winter face moisturiser. It is almost like a barrier cream against the elements too,but weirdly doesn't make the T zone greasy - it is honestly pretty remarkable stuff. I have sensitive and dry skin and it hasn't caused spots or breakouts - I tried the light version first but if you need something a little heavier then I'd say give this a go. Genuine 5 star stuff.

I really like this cream, i suffer with very dry hands due and it has helped loads. The cream is quite greasy but this is part of why it's so good. It seems to protect well and create a barrier to the skin. It arrived in a box similar to the tube of cream and it a nice size for handbags or even glove boxes. It feels nourishing and hydrating and helps a lot with the itchy feeling you get with dry skin.I have bought it a couple of times and will continue to do so! They also do a smaller tube which can be quite handy also.I like the smell of the cream, you can tell it's not perfumed so much as natural smelling. And while it may be a little clinical, I find that the benefits of it make me less worries about what it smells like, although it is by no means and unpleasant smell.Overall I recommend this for anyone with dry skin but I do find it stings a bit if the skin is broken so be careful with this.

Weleda’s Skin Food is a thick cream that is instantly nourishing on application. I find it leaves my hands feeling tacky and so it isn’t something I can use during the day but overnight, gloves added, it absorbs well and leaves the skin feeling much better by morning.I have used it on my elbows, a particular problem area as I work from home and am thus virtually permanently glued to my desk with elbows tending to rest on the surface. This leaves them feeling softened and actually like the skin on the rest on my arms for a change.I am not overly keen on the scent (another reason to avoid application on hands during the day) but I can put up with that for the nourishment being handed out.Available in different pack sizes to suit need, including a trial size, this is something that has made a big difference to dry areas of skin and is worth a shot to see if it makes a difference; it has for me.

I have tried a lot of different moisturisers for various parts of my body. I seem especially prone to dry skin, and recently started regularly swimming, which is placing even more of a toll on my skin (chlorine = dryness). And my cracked heels are especially horrendous. This cream is the best I have used yet on my heels. Within about four days (applied once each evening just before bed, putting socks on afterwards), I noticed results, with the cracking now mostly gone. I'm guessing it'll come back soon enough if I stop applying the cream, but that might be a bit much to ask for.The cream has a thick consistency, and is easy enough to massage in, though I would recommend putting on socks or manicure gloves after applying at night. The smell is interesting - not fragrant, but not unpleasant. Similar to hemp, though slightly sharper.I suspect I'll be buying another tube when this one's finished.

I have always had combination skin with very dry, flaky, itchy areas around my cheeks, nose and brows. This has become worse since having babies (thank you, hormones). I've tried loads of creams, lotions, oils including others from Weleda. I don't know why it took me so long to try this one, but I'm so glad I finally did. It's very thick & rich, but doesn't just sit on top of my skin in a greasy slick like many others. Because of it's lovely texture it's easy to apply in targeted areas; great if you have combination skin. It feels very gentle, as you'd expect of weleda, but it's already had a big effect after only a few days. It also smells absolutely lovely; like lemons and oranges, but not at all strong or overpowering. I'm using this in combination with Ultrabland cleanser from Lush (which I also highly recommend) and so far they seem to be an excellent routine for my skin.

This cream is very thick and oily, almost like a barrier cream, and a little goes a long way. I use it on my knees, elbows, feet and anywhere else where dry skin appears - it's not a body lotion, more of an intensive skin conditioner. I wouldn't personally use it on my face - it's too thick not to drag the skin and isn't really designed for that purpose. However, if you have any dry or chapped patches, it would be ideal to dab on at night or before heading out in cold windy weather. I also use it as a hand cream at night - by morning it's all sunk in and my hands are much softer. You could wear cotton gloves if you're bothered about protecting bedclothes from grease. It works very well, but one downside is that the smell isn't totally pleasant - flowery, slightly citrusy notes overlaying quite a strong lanolin smell, but the scent doesn't really linger once applied.

Great product for whenever I have a skin emergency. I'm not a fan of all Weleda products, but this one certainly delivers. Currently on my second tube.Somehow due to the non plastic packaging, it appears to be a lot easier to dose then a plastic tube. A tiny, tiny bit really does go a long way.Have used this winter on annoying and itchy dry spots I get when that time of year, immediately soothed and actually made them disappear a lot quicker then usual. In the past I've tried everything from beeswax to sudocream to emollient creams but never had such fast results as with Skin Food.Throughout the day I use a tiny amount on my hands and in addition I use it on my lips and skin whenever they are a bit dry.It prevent any dry spots from developing on my very sensitive and eczema prone skin..All in all therefore happy with the price vs. quantity&quality.
