I have had terrible problems with ingrowing hair for at least 35 years and I feel as if I have literally tried everything. However about 10 years ago I came accross the skin doctors range and tried Ingro Go! And I found that it worked extrememly well. However I have found as with anything in life each one has to persevere and give things a chance to do what it say's on the tin. For e.g. I have worked out that you have to grow your beard or hair in the affected area FIRST(don't try from the beginning and put the solution on top of affected area, because it will just burn the bump and cause scabbing etc.) rather wait for the hair to grow out and condition the skin so that there are very little or possibly no bumps, then shave with a hair clipper trimmer so that the hair has been cut just above the surface of the skin wait for a few hours or possibly until the next day so that it reduces any possible stinging, and then apply gently but firmly to the affected area using sweeping strokes preferably against the grain in order to lift any hairs that may be about to dig in as it were. Of course you can apply straight away after shaving maybe your skin can take the extra burning sensation but it is best that you give it time to adjust. when applying solution make sure the cotton wool is sufficiently wet in order to ensure the Ingro go easily covers affected area and that you are not causing unnecessary friction on the skin. Leave it wet on the face and if you feel that the application of it has dried your skin out too much then you may want to apply a moist neutralising cream or lotion afterward in order to lesten the affect of burning. If you wet shave using a blade then make sure the blades are extremely sharp so that the blade doesn't pull or tear hair; this doing this will cause less friction or irritation of the skin. And Remember don't use it morning and night because it will be too much for the skin and burn it causing burn marks. Just use it every other day and then when the skin has been conditioned then use it daily but still not morning and night. As another tip, my wife uses tweezers to remove any ingrowing hairs in the first instance and occasionally or whenever the odd one appears but now I use the solution it is now rare she needs to do this.In my opinion it is about knowing how to get the best of a product that has been proven to work for so many people. Oh, and by the way I never write reviews, it's just that this time I was about to order some more of the product when I noticed some negative reviews so I was moved to share what I've experienced.Sorry for the lengthy review it's just that I thought there's no point saying that it works without giving some helpful tips as to how it has worked for me.Thanks for listening.Stephen

This is the first review I've done for Amazon, and I must have bought hundreds of items off Amazon!Firstly I want to say that I mainly use this product for razor bumps, the redness and irritation following shazing rather than ingrown hair, although I get that from time to time too. I felt I had to leave a review just because razor bump hair is the one thing that makes me feel very self concious and particularly bothers me and is EXTREMELY unsightly if I don't do anything about it! In the past I have used a great number of creams and lotions, from anti baby rash cream to ingrow hair remover lotion and mens specialist aftershaving lotions to general moisturing the area (bikini area)- nothing works in the slightest, which is most disheartening! However, after using this product, I have found my miracle treatment and feel compelled to write so that anyone suffering from same problem knows there is a solution out there! Some people complain about stinging and flakey skin - tbh this never even crossed my mind, but I must admit there is SOME stinging and perhaps slight drying of skin, but you only need to moisturise after using! It didn't even occur to me as a problem before reading the other reiews just now. I often stop using this product and immediately notice the unsightly razor bumps, ingrow hair etc all comes back; as soon as I restart using, it disappears again. So it is definitely this product doing the trick!! Although I must say the redness etc never goes 100% clear beautiful and smooth but virtually completely gone, and restores my 100% confidence in my self. (Although maybe if I used it without a break, it would be 100% beautiful...!)I would highly recommend you give it a try - it is not that expensive and lasts a long time, probably at least 6 months of regular use, maybe even up to a year+ (I've had my 120ml bottle for around a year using it roughly 3-4 times a week) I would recommend you use it about 2 days before and 2 days after shaving. If this doesn't work for you I really hope you find something else that does! :-)

Firstly apologies for the long review but I cannot rave enough about this product, found it useful to understand others experiences so thought I would share mine. This is an absolute game changer!!! Got this product after reading the reviews - thought things couldn’t get any worse so would give it a go. I have been epilating my legs for about a year or so, because I’m one of those that you shave in the morning, by the evening you have stubble, so have been putting myself through the epilating torture, my legs were never smooth, got progressively worse, had ingrowing hairs all over that I would try and dig at with the tweezers leaving scabs and scars everywhere - I was about to give up as thought the pain and the results just not evening worth it.Then....I get this, i tried it once a day but read somewhere better results twice a day....best tips ever! I use twice a day morning and night, the ingrown hairs literally just started to spring out from under the skin, growing normally (I have only been using this about three weeks) - I would say after about a week 50% had gone, two weeks probably 80% had gone. Now my skin is so smooth, no bumps, no new ingrown hairs, epilating is far less strenuous - I cannot actually believe how good this product is - thought there was no helping me but my gosh! Some people mentioned the smell, can’t say I really noticed it, haven’t noticed it drying out my legs either and I tried it on my bikini line - ladies you will not regret it!! I have just purchased three new bottles as thought if this ever got discontinued I would cry lol. Very happy customer!!!

....not all my results are due to Skin Doctors, but I`ll come to that later!Let me state that I haven`t up till now orderedSkin Doctors on/through amazon(so I cannot saywhat the delivery is like),as I was using adifferent site to order this item, but this maychange in the future.Over the last 25yrs or so I`ve tried a hugeamount of products for ingrowing hairs. Now I`m not going to bore you with a long list(I can`t remember them all anyways)but,I`ve triedthings like tend skin, anthony logistics, etc,&Skin Doctors is (for me)bar far the best workingproduct when it comes to dealing with ingrowing hairs.I do have sensitive but,use this very sparingly, dabbedon to my face with my hands or,with a cottonbud asstated by Skin Doctors in the info for this item.I`ve been using Skin Doctors for a few years now &,would not use or even try anything else while I`mstill having the same results. Now I said that not all results are due to ingrownhair lotion alone,& to be honest, this is probably true. There are some shaving products & technics that I alsouse that I know have helped, along with a good facewash,so I can`t really justify 5 stars, but it`s close.Sum-up:If you`ve tried what seems like every ingrown hairlotion/product going &,STILL suffer with these un-sightly hairs/bumps,try Skin Doctors,it may be theanswer your after.Just remember though, use sparinglyonce or twice a day & you "should" be free of theeffect of the dreaded "Ingrown Hair Problem".Recommended, thank you for taking the time & effortto read my views, good luck!

I've not tried a tonne of different products - and this is my first chemical exfoliator but it's so much better for my skin than scrubbing it with a sponge/gloves, which just resulted in redness and frustration. I've recently given up on waxing my legs - my hair is just too thick and curly and the ingrowns are horrendous (this product cannot stop them from happening) - but what the product does do is take off that dead skin layer, and yes the tiny ingrown dots do 'pop out' and reveal the hairs. I've come to realise the best way for the product to work on me is to soak a cotton wool pad and not just swipe it over my legs but to rub it in - I then see dead skin colour the pad.It sends your leg flaky and I'd recommend finding a moisturiser with natural ingredients to get that softness back without irritation. I also now wear gloves when applying this product as it sent my fingertips horribly dry after a few uses.I've got a routine of using the exfoliator in the evening and moisturising in the morning. With the help of this, I'm on my way to getting rid of those ingrown bumps! I partly hoped it could help with the 'strawberry skin' i have on my legs too, the dark spots, and I suppose once the ingrowns disappear this will get better with time - but for those searching for a long-term solution to strawberry legs, unfortunately I wouldn't expect this product to do wonders in that department - but it can't hurt.

I am a 38 year old male and have been suffering with ingrowing hairs since I was 16. I always had at least 5 or 6 ingrowing hairs on my neck and on my head at any one time, the back of my neck has been an embarrassing red scarred mess for years.I was extremely sceptical about this product but buying it was one of the best decisions of my entire life. After 46 days of using this product I have no ingrowing hairs for the first time in 22 years and the red scarring has started to fade too!Is this a miracle cure that will stop ingrowing hairs from ever appearing? Of course it isn't, it's not exactly going to re-write your DNA but it will get rid of all ingrowing hairs and more importantly it will get rid of new ingrowing hair in 1 to 2 days rather than 1 to 2 weeks or maybe even months .I feel sorry for the people who gave this product a low score saying that it didn't work, I truly believe they either didn't apply the product properly or did not give it enough time.Apply once in the morning when you get up and once in the evening before you go to bed, always use cotton wool buds and there is also a supermarket chain that sells cotton wool buds with a blue hollow tube in the middle, those buds are absolutely perfect with this product as the fluid from the bottle fills the tube which then slowly comes out through the bud when you apply it to the area.

After reading the reviews I bought this product hoping i would be one of the people whose skin it agreed with! After using it a week I have to say it does what it says on the tin! I've been suffering with ingrown hairs on my legs, underarms and bikini line for years and they were only getting worse. But within 48 hours of using this, the hairs on my underarms were clearly lifting to the surface of the skin and popping out! I'm still waiting for a more drastic result on my legs but they are already feeling far smoother after a week than they've been in years, especially my knees!!I say this with one caveat, it does EXACTLY what it says on the tin. So get it on your hands and they will peel, using excess amounts on sensitive areas such as underarms does result in dry skin and maybe burning, well for me anyway. I combat that with coconut oil and it's then fine.I would advise continuing to use an exfoliant in the shower like a body brush or massage sponge, which will remove any dead skin resulting from the product. Apply the product as directed, twice daily maybe only once when the skin gets more sensitive. Will def continue use and will be buying another bottle when this one runs out!!

I've suffered from facial folliculitis for all of my adult life so I was very interested to see if this stuff worked and bought a bottle to try it out.Suffice to say that it does indeed work, but it is a very harsh chemical. If used the way the instruction leaflet suggests (i.e. applied with a cotton wool ball over a large area) then it causes redness, soreness and large amounts of skin flaking for me. This is no great surprise really given that it supposedly works by being a powerful exfoliating agent.I have found that if I apply it very carefully ONLY to the exact areas directly affected, i.e directly onto trapped hairs, then it's still pretty effective over a 24-48 hour period and causes far less generalised skin flaking and redness etc.The instructions do say to test on a small area of skin first and this is a very good idea IMO. Not everyone will have the same reactions to any treatment so test it first! Use it carefully and sparingly and avoid sensitive areas and hopefully it'll work for you too.And the end of the day I'm very pleased to have something to help control my folliculitis, even if it's not a "magic bullet" and has to be used carefully.

For 20 years on front of thighs, I've had rough pimples with ingrown hairs due to waxing on skin after sunbathing! Stupid I know! I've tried scouring the skin with different bathing implements, and also Lactic Acid skin peel 30% which did nothing. I was going to try a stronger peel, but very expensive, when I saw Ingrow advertised half the price of a peel. I was quite sceptical that it would do anything but some reviews were very good, so I bought a bottle nearly 3 months ago. Well, I must say there are some results. Quite surprising! Using twice a day morning and evening, the bumps are smoother and much softer with hairs starting to show through. The area is reducing in size as well.I found using a dry cotton wool pad with just 2, 3 or 4 drops of Ingrow rubbed over the area, was all that is needed. Smells a bit like nail varnish remover but goes off, it didn't sting, but left what looked like grubby smudges on the pad which is probably the dead skin! I'm guessing the good results are due to the 'salicylic acid' which is found in corn and verruca treatments. I've nearly run out and due to good results will purchase another.

After two months, I can confidently say this lotion works! I have sensitive skin that has always reacted badly to hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing and plucking leaving scars and infrown hairs around my belly button and bikini line. I also have acne scaring hyperpigmentation on my face. This lotion has noticibly reduced the scaring on my belly leaving it looking the best it has in years and I am confident with further use the scaring will have disappeared all together in a few months time! I only use it once/twice a day a few days a week. This is a potent solution so I don't use it on my face consistently however it has completely unclogged the pores on my chin and noticiably reduces scarring (but I do use other glycolic acid containing products). But beware, this lotion is very drying and will dry out your finger tips through contact with the cotton wool and will also dry out your skin so moisturise with use. Overall great product, worth the money.

have had this in the cupboard for a while and used it every so often but haven't really persevered and haven't really thought it worked so well. however, i was looking for an ingrow solution the other day and clicked back on this as its got quite good reviews. i saw someone say you have to use everyday and night to see the results. so i got this back out the cupboard and have being using it everyday and night for about a week or so now and have really seen the results. i wouldn't say its a 'miracle' solution... it doesn't clear the problem completely and it does tend to dry the skin out quite a bit and its a bit of a pain to use everyday and night BUT it had definitely made a big improvement.just moisturise the area every so often and its fine :) for the price it isn't bad as the bottle lasts quite a while plus its a lot cheaper here than buying it in a drug store. i'm sure it doesn't work for everyone but i'd recommend it :)

I truly think that, although there are a fair few different treatments for ingrowing hairs, its all about finding the one that your skin AGREES with.I know plenty of people who swear by Gigi No Bump, or even the most popular Tend Skin, but i had no luck with them. Upon finding this (which just so happens to be a LOT cheaper than most other brands, get in!) it worked almost immediately, of course its still no wonder product, and if you dont shave correctly (ie not using shaving cream or using a blunt razor) then this can only help a certain amount, however, if you follow a good shaving (or even waxing or epilating) routine then i'd certainly class this as a godsend.I became so fed up of following all shaving/waxing rules and still being left with ugly armpits and legs.If you haven't tried this product before, i really recommend you do, like i said, it may only work for certain people, but its 100% worth trying!

I really suffer from ingrowns, especially post waxing. I have used this skin doctors product for years and honestly think it's the best that's on the market. I've used pfb vanish, nair and a few other companies products but none of them are as effective on my skin as this. It lifts off dead skin on the surface and in the process softens the plug of skin stopping the ingrown hair coming through to the surface. After a few go's the ingrowns scrub out a lot easier. When used religiously and in conjunction with some serious exfoliating and moisturising I have actually got to a point where I couldn't find a single ingrown anywhere on me!The downside is that this stuff doesn't smell nice so you might want to open the window whilst you're using it.The smell on your skin does fade, especially if you follow it with some moisturiser as I tend to. It's great to find it so cheap on here too as in Boots it's about £11.

Been using it for about a week, started a few days before I shaved my bikini area etc and have noticed a difference. It definitely has prevented ingrown hairs no doubt about it. Still get a few pests here and there but I dabed some on and after a day I noticed it go down significantly.DOWN SIDES: the smell. Almost like achohol, just not very present. However that’s only on application and it doesn’t last or linger.Dry skin. I have noticed flaking of the skin. Not bad you can tell it’s only the very top layer of skin being affected. However is annoying, just have to make sure you exfoliate lightly and moisturiser eg aloe Vera gel. But so far so good will definitely keep using as it it helping a lot, skin feels smooth. The skin flaking problem can be helped with some moisturiser and the smell doesn’t last. The good outweighs the bad as far as I’m concerned. Use as instructed and you should be good.

After using for 4 days 4 horrible ingrown hairs on my neck have all but gone! I'm a man that shaves his face and entire head as well so do have a bit of an issue with ingrown hairs every now and then. I have used other products as well as regular tweeting to try to combat the problem. The trouble with tweeting is that you don't always get the hair and can sometimes make it worse before you eventually get the hair. I've been using this for just under a week now and 4 very stubborn hairs which have bothered me for a couple of months have now virtually disappeared! I never got out the hair, but the lump and redness have vanished! Weird? Yes Strange? Yes, fantastic?Absolutely!!Great product for the self conscious and not necessarily vain person. Great price as well. I shan't be buying any other product from now on.Also, seller got them to me next day on Prime so I rate them highly as well.
