Aside from a few graphical issues and bugs i've encountered this game is by and large a joy to play. The story is broadly interesting and there's lots to do and being open world means there's lots of different places to go. Essentially the game is about a guy that wants to take revenge against everyone that's ever screwed him over in life and the journey along that road is pretty fun going for the most part. The game is 3rd person based (so much like GTA5) where by you view the character from over the shoulder. You can drive around as you please and can hack or manipulate virtually everything from gates and cameras to potentially hacking someone's bank account and stealing money. If you factor the side missions into the equation then this game should keep you busy for weeks and weeks to come.Pros: You can hack and control virtually anything * The map is massive and i love the open world nature of this game * potentially 50-60+ hours * you do require strategy and a cunning brain to truly appreciate this game!Cons: I've had quite a few bugs where my character has fallen through the floor and been unable to get out * Driving around can be dull * Aiden Pearce is a boring protagonist * There's no purpose to the money/Reputation system * the environments are static with no birds, animals or wind * Servers are currently rubbish * I would have liked to see more variation in the side quests, perhaps to help showcase what the game was capable of?VERDICT: It's huge and there's lots to do, the ability to hack anything really is cool and makes you feel powerful as you stroll around the map and it comes in handy if the police are after you or need to use CCTV cameras to find a way in or out without being detected. Despite the list of negatives, i'm impressed and i think it has lots to offer and everyone will find something they like. The graphics aren't as spectacular as i was hoping them to be but they are better than what many have been lead to believe. On the whole it's a good game, it just needs a few updates moving forward and it'll soon become a game everyone should have on their list, perhaps wait for the price to drop slightly in the coming weeks and by that time there should be a few updates out to improve game-play!RECOMMENDED

At first the game takes a long while to get your head round the whole idea of it all, so give it a chance. This is one of those games that the more you play it, the better it gets.Having the ability to retrieve personal details of each individual civilian roaming the city and hack them out of thin air of their bank account to still their money, makes you feel like the city on this game is at your disposable, it gives you a great sense of power and control. The modern world is a digital one, and you play as Aiden, a genius in hacking electronic devices, and because the world is now very much a digital ine, the world is literally at your finger tips. Very clever concept for a game, and somewhat creepy to.Makes you paranoid about someone hacking you in reality. This is a sandbox game and I am so sick and tired of these gta fan boys comparing this to GTA so they put this game down, GTA is a sandbox game to but both are completely different. Watch Dog is original, just because its set on a city, doesn't mean its trying to be a gta. It's like comparing Doom to Call of Duty, and excusing COD developers of copying DOOM just because their both first-person shooters, its bloody madness! So ignore the GTA fan boys reviews. The whole idea is so clever and very fun but best of all its tactical, having to think about how to use the tools to your advantage to get through the level. But having said that, you do have the option to go in each level guns blazing for the inpatient player but the game is far more enjoyable playing it as it should be by using your ability to hack camera's, activate explosive devices est. to stealthily take down enemies.IGN rated this 8.4 I would say thats about right. This is what you'd expect from Ubisoft, a very tactical and original game. Must have!

watch dogs has to be one of the most best hacking games ever to come out and why, well watch dogs has an really amazing story to it as from what happened is that aiden's nisei was killed in a car crash and what did really happen was that an person order an hit on him but the hitter when for his family and sadly a 6 year old girl lena pearce was killed at the age of 6 so now as your the one who is aiden pearce, you most show the world that no one can hide from you! ctos will help you fight crime with so many stuff from traffic lights to blacking out the city, hacking is not there weapon its yours and the anything can be hacked like hack peoples bank accounts, read there texts or even hear there phone calls they make.note you may find some interesting things like new hide outs, hidden stuff and much more.watch dogs will let you decide if you want to punish the people who decide to punish the good people or you can be an evil person and kill any one you see but note this will have an big impact on your rep.punishing the bad will up+ your rep witch will drop the chance of people calling the police and that's if you save there lives then you become there hero but that's up to you all on how you go.its a most buy game and that's only if your an hacking fan

Great game which is much more tactical than GTA. The lighting all looks nice and when you're walking around the animation is really fluid. I don't understand why they didn't put the itinerary, hacking and skills tree on the gamepad though. They worked with the same team that did Zombiu which did have this feature. Why not reuse that code which worked perfectly? It takes a while to master the ways you can use stealth in this game by hacking from camera to camera then dispatch enemies using their explosives etc and the controls don't make it as quick as it could be to switch weapons. The driving controls are really sensitive, I haven't worked out if there's a way of calibrating but handbrake turns round every corner seems to work.Motorbikes are much better and the sense of speed while driving any vehicles is nice and realistic. I haven't noticed any framerate issues so far either. The main story is pretty big and each mission is a bit different from the last and has good pacing. The side missions are more like your typical GTA missions such as catching criminals by ramming their car off the road etc All in all good fun. It would be nice if they released an update to bring in more gamepad integration but I doubt that's going to happen.

'Yes' the side-missions are repetitive but the same is true for ALL open-wold action games if you are truly objective: Just Cause 2, Red Faction Guerrilla, Crackdown, Saint's Row 3 and 4, Sleeping Dogs, Red Dead Redemption, Dead Rising 3, Shadow of Mordor, Metal Gear Solid 5, Mad Max...they ALL have repetitive side-missions. Its fully a matter of preference which type of missions you like.Watchdogs is an open-world action with stealth, driving and some new innovative gameplay elements. The storyline is the weakest part of the game, however it is cool enough for this type of game and I liked how the main characters were portrayed. The innovation comes from the way you interact with people and objects around you. We've seen hacking in games before of-course, but not to this extent and effect. So the game is definitely unique in its core gameplay element. The combat and stealth is like a mix of Deus Ex and Splinter Cell, the driving like that of a GTA game. If you like open-world action games you should definitely consider Watch Dogs.

Obviously, watch dogs looks way way better on the next gen consoles. By the looks of it, the game's major downfall on the xbox 360/current gen consoles is the POOR FRAME RATE.Graphically, the game is pretty good when you're walking around Chicago, but as soon as you pick up some speed in a vehicle it looks absolutely awful to the extent that when I first drove at high speed I thought the game hadn't downloaded properly and redownloaded it, only to find that it actually was that bad graphically. Cars appear messily, city scapes/ land scapes in the distance don't render properly and look awful etc...HOWEVER, I still absolutely LOVE this game! It's fairly good at letting you play in a variety of ways, and I always found stealth to be the most enjoyable yet challenging aspect of the game, an option that isn't available in other games like GTA V for example.IN CONCLUSION, if you don't have next gen hardware, but want a great game and aren't bothered about sloppy graphics, watch dogs is the game for you!

I enjoyed but many won't! I felt for most of the time I was playing a GTA 5 mod. To be honest, it is Grand Theft Auto but you can hack things too. I like the GTA series which made this game fine for me.Pros:- Nice graphics- Standard controls for this type of game (GTA)- Cars/Bikes were fine to drive- Weapons were easy to use- Simple hacking systemCons:- Too easy- Completed the game in under a month of on and off gaming (half hour here and there)- The story gripped me but the rest of the game has not- Story far too simple- Not much to do- Rinse and repeat gameplay, every mission is the same- Main character was the typical raspy voice tough guy- Back story was sketchy to say the least- Far too easy to get money, just hack a few people on the street and your loaded!- Guns are too easy to get and there is no variety- Enemies are predictable- Stuttery mess on times while driving- All the cars drove in a similar fashion

Good game, its a little like mixing assassins creed with gta, which i suppose is to be expected! Ive read some pretty bad reviews and honestly I dont get what the problem is!?The drivings fine (depending on the car), the combat plays well, and the stealth aspects work really nicely if you don't just run into a situation and expect not to get spotted, hack the cameras and scout ahead! All in all its keeping me hooked, Ive killed hours and havnt even progressed far in the campaign.A few people have trashed the multiplayer, but i like it, it think it works well. The 'virtual trip' mini games are great fun too.The only thing i find slightly pointles is the outfits you can buy, and money.Money is soooo easy to get and now Im absolutley loaded withnothing else to do with my cash but leave it as a 'gift' for other online players.Dont listen to the haters, its a good game with some unique selling points.

AMAZING GAME!!! i personally loved the plot though i heard a lot of people didn't... it has really good performances, could use some improvments but it has great features, like... HACKING!!! amazing visual performance though, and it is just so awesome to play, with great missions that involvs thinking and strategising, you have 384349863986 different ways to do each mission ad it is entirely up to you ti decide how to do the mission and that's a thing most games dont have, and i loved it. + the collectibles in it are beautiful and i dsplay them with pride!

I pre ordered this product so i could relax after my exams but royal mail didn't deliver it on release day but the day after meaning I missed a day of game play. when it arrived it was well packaged and in perfect order, upon opening I realized some of the things inside were pretty much useles like the badges and the holographic cards but the metal case is the best one I have ever seen. The actual game is fun but is actually really short as I got through it in a couple of days, even the bonus missions were 10 minutes each.

Game dispatch time was a little long as it was coming from Australia, but it was a great buy, and using the codes provided I did not have to install it from dvds, (download direct from uplay with your cd key), but its nice to have the dvds as backups. Uplay is a pain to install, it failed the first time for no reason, but worked the second time around...You get a bonus mission with the enclosed extra code inside the box, overall a very good buy and lots of fun to play...

Great game, amazing graphics, but somehow the vehicles have the worst mechanics in the whole game, which is arguably not very good for a game which requires a lot of driving about. However, hacking, hacking people, accidentally running people over and hurting your rep. But dogs. Watching you, watching me, and watching our bank accounts.Maybe I can't hack in real life, but this game simplifies it so we can all be as cool as the hackers we revere.

Played the some of the main story and did some free roaming, It's great, so different to GTA 5 I feel like the reviews that compare it to GTA 5 would need to compare a WWE game to Street Fighter. Yes it's the same idea but with a different take. Watch Dogs has puzzle solving and feels more like somewhere between Far Cry and GTA 5.If Watchdogs had preceeded GTA 5, I think Watchdogs would have not had a review under 5/5 on game websites.

I know this is a great game, I have yet to play it though. The walkthroughs on YouTube are amazing, just showing what you can do in this open world game is brilliant. Annoyed with Royal Mail as it was due to be delivered to my house on the release day, but didn't arrive until today (29/05/14). I will play this game soon, but from what I have already seen this is a must buy!

5.12.2014

The graphics are very good and the game play is strong. Unlike other open world games there is a point to completing the many side missions as they assist you in working through the main campaign. Integration of the game pad is good but could have possibly been used more. Overall a great third party game for the Wii U, just a shame there isn't more like it in the pipeline!
