Disney Infinity is a game that seems to be getting overlooked by a lot of people as something 'for kids', or a massive investment that wants to steal all your money. Those people would be very much correct. However, after giving into the pressure of buying a Disney game after they released a pack with my all time favorite character included into it(Stitch), I now own it and honestly, I'm quite enjoying it.I'm a more 'hardcore gamer' and this really isn't something that I would usually purchase or give a second look, simply based on the premise that it's obviously designed to get children to spend all their pocket money on the sold separately figures and 'power discs'. The fun of the gameplay, the creativity and the overall accuracy to the characters so far though makes me feel that this was a good purchase.- The Gameplay -The game revolves around putting different figures onto a board that comes with the game. The figures appear in the game as the playable character and you can swap the figures at any time to change the character 'on the go'. I haven't played similar games like 'Skylanders', so I can't judge how similar it is to that. The actual gameplay is pretty smooth overall, though there are the occasional drops in FPS that are quite noticeable. The combat is surprisingly fun and surprisingly challenging considering it's a Disney game. For a guy that usually plays through games on the highest difficulty in games with minimum deaths, I almost died at the first 'boss' character in Disney Infinity. I'm overall quite impressed here. The game is somewhat split up into two different 'modes'.Firstly you have the Toy Box. This is an 'open world' type setting where you can do what you want. You have access to a large catalog of different items and structures in which you can build your very own world, whether it's something that just looks good or an entire level with mission objectives and enemies. This is the games creative aspect and it's pretty well done and quite user friendly, though you will likely have to go through the tutorials to know exactly what everything does. You also have access to the online community in which you can download and play maps that other people have created. Obviously, these can vary in quality as they're user created but so far, I've come across more 'good maps' than bad ones. Again, I'm overall impressed. If you've ever played 'Little Big Planet' on the Playstation 3, it's a very similar idea. The other part of the game are levels that come in the form of 'power discs'. You put the discs on the DI board (with the figures) and the level starts. You get 2 level discs with this particular pack, 1 for each character (Stitch and Merida) that are themed around the characters film/TV show. So far, these are pretty entertaining themselves and I quite enjoyed them. You can also get Power Discs with certain 'figure packs' (sold separately), though I recommend doing a little research into which packs have them in as they don't all come with one. The single figure packs also don't seem to come with any of these discs as I bought Vanellope separately and she did not come with any of these 'power discs'.You also have access to your own personal home which again, you can customize to your liking. The home seems to serve little purpose outside of being your constant 'personal space' and is only home to a few 'quest givers' who are more like tutorial guides rather than a real quest. It's a nice feature and I've already spent a lot of time customizing my house since it's just fun and has a lot of options available from changing the carpets and wallpaper, adding different furniture and decorations and adding entirely new rooms giving the ability to make your house anything from a small one bedroom place to a multistory maze. Again, very fun.- presentation -Firstly, the figures. Let's get that out of the way.The figures are surprisingly good quality for what they cost and for something that is mass produced, they have little to no imperfections. I've bought £50 collectible figures that have been worse quality than these £10 things! I would honestly buy them even if I didn't own the game just because of how good they look! They're also really good for display purposes as they are just great looking figures at a reasonable size to be both easily portable and look nice on display. Each figure really represents the character perfectly, with the Vanellope one so far being my favorite (it's really adorable). They're also cross platform, meaning you don't have to buy specific figures for a certain console. They'll work on every console, which takes away the hassle that could have been caused. The aesthetic style of the entire game is based around the theme of 'toys', so each of the characters, objects and environments have a feeling of them being a 'living toy', such as the characters having hinges and joints like a Toy would. Many of the items and objects share the same aesthetic, with the cars having a battery compartment on the bottom or the villagers resembling those 'toddler toys' I saw in Toy Story (I really don't remember what they're actually called). The presentation here is spot on and the game is really nice to look at, as well as having a certain 'charm' to it that is lacking in a lot of other games these days. The soundtrack obviously mostly consists of different Disney/Pixar themes, as well as new music composed in the same styles. It fits the game extremely well, having enjoyable themes from a relaxing 'Disney' theme when you're customizing your house, to a battle theme that really made some small battles feel like epic showdowns. The characters themselves are what I'm most impressed with. The characters are really true to their original source material, with (for example) Stitch's movement animations, attacks and voice clips all being what I imagine the character should be like. This is something a lot of games fail with and miss the mark, but Disney Infinity has so far proven to get this 100% accurate, which is one of the main things I wanted from the game.- Overall -Disney Infinity is a surprisingly fun and interesting game with quite a lot to do, especially if you have a creative side to your personality. Everything from the graphical presentation to the gameplay is enjoyable and the game seems to have no limits to how long you will be playing it for. The fact that the figures are also really nice looking is also a bonus for anybody who collects or simply likes to put things on display. The only downsides would be the mentioned FPS drops and the amount of money you would overall end up spending to 'get it all', though I suspect most people will only buy the figures they like rather than 'all of them'. It's obvious that the game is designed to suck money from the wallets of people everywhere and I would highly recommend shopping around to get these cheap or preowned, as there is no benefit whatsoever to buying them brand new (aside from the usual preowned ones having a chance to be damaged).Overall, Dinsey has yet again put out a fantastic product.- Pros -- Fun and seemingly endless gameplay with access to loads of user created content.- Tons to do- Great default difficulty level which is hard enough to be a challenge, but not hard enough to feel unfair- Fantastically well made characters and environments that really has that 'Disney magic' feeling- Enjoyable for all ages- Good quality figures- Cons -- FPS drops are noticeable.- The game is going to cost you a lot of money. The game is a real money sink that you may not see the benefit in unless you really want the figures.- UPDATED/EDIT -After the weekend of staying over at my friends after a night of drinking, I've decided that I needed to bump the game up from four stars to 5 stars, despite the problems I mentioned. The morning after, we played Disney Infinity for 7 hours straight without getting board and by the time I was about to go home we were still loving the game. This isn't something we're usually able to do as we usually get bored with a game after at least 2 or so hours. The strange part here is, we enjoyed the game so much and for at least 6 of those hours we were just fooling around in Toy Box mode (free build mode). Yea, we didn't actually spend much time on actual levels! On two player however, the FPS drops are more frequent, yet, we really didn't notice them or mind at all because we were just having that much fun. It's only when I was having something to eat and just watching him play that it became obvious to me.Highly recommended.

for a long time now i'am very curious about this whole toys-videogame combi thing. So now was the time because this infinity starter set for the vita, with the black spiderman was under 10€/$. My opinion about the vita version is very mixed. The figures itself are very nice, and my little daughter loves to play with them. So they are great for that. For the videogame itself it's kind of a mixed bag. The game self contains two big parts. The playset and the toybox. The playset is like a singleplayer action adventure. in this case a spiderman themed one. The toybox is kind of a minecraft/lego creator set. And both of this gametypes are quite enoyable. Unfortunately i can only use my spiderman figure in the playset part.the other figures are only usable in the toybox mode. And you have to pay attention when it comes to buying these toys, because Infinity 3.0 figures are not compatible to this version of the game. Okay here comes my biggest problem with the game. The game-engine. The framerate on the Vita, especially in the spiderman playset is all over the place. When it comes to fighting and webswinging it's very irritating and hard to focus on the right enemy and where to go. That brings me to next con. The lockon mechanism. At some point of the game there are enemy generators, which you should destroy to provent the enemies from respawning. But for some reasons spidy attacks enemies on the other side of the room instead of the generator right in front of him. So and now the last con for me, and that is the difficulty of the fighting sections. I play a ton of hardcore games in the last 30 years, but sadly fighting in a game dedicated to kids make me change the difficulty setting to easy. With the cons mention, especially the protection mission are nearly impossible on normal difficulty. And after the 20th try you get nausea from the framerate. The graphics itself looks fine. Not great but good. Sometimes a little bit dark. Good models, good textures. The sound design is also decent. The whole cons are not as present in the Toybox mode. I think this is the part of the game where you get the most fun out. After you have unlock all the available toybox stuff. Which are sadly not available from the beginning. And the toybox mode is where this whole figures, powerdisk- game combi thing come into play to his full potential. Last point. Keep in mind that Disney Infinity on the Vita is no game for the go. I mean the Infinity station is wireless and has an battery, but i doubt that someone can play this on the bus or subway. So if you like that kind of stuff, or want to play something fun with your kids together, get the version for the big consoles. For what i understand there is also a two player mode, and you certainly have a stable framerate.

Had the first Disney infinity which my lad loved, the only down side was it was very easy to complete the missions. Hoped this one would be more challenging.First impression are same as we had with the first is wow, how much detail is there on the characters, so well made, shame they don’t make play figures that look this good.Same as the last game, portal, figures and the disc, great offers on the first date, but still an expensive game with extra figures. The game it self has a toy box which you can explore with any character, there are then other worlds where you need extra characters, the missions are great fun, yes some are very easy but they are more challenging the last game, the real fun comes from playing with Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman (when he arrives), captan America plus you can buy Hulk, hawk eye there brilliant, amazing detail. Is this better than Skylanders, no not better but its an equal to it, I prefer the Disney as I recognize the characters, Skylanders is just more monster type things, fun but Marvel, who doesn’t like playing at being Iron Man.This is as always going to keep costing me, more figures, power packs etc, I like it as its fantasy rather than the call of duty type game which is just to much at times. If you don’t mind the cost and the extra cost then its a must have.

A must for any Die hard Marvel collectors (..Or weak willed parent like myself!) Disney's Infinity 2.0 Marvel Collectors package may seem pricey, but take my word for it, when you actually see the size of the item(... And trust me! It's MASSIVE,) you will totally understand it's hefty price tag, each marvel figure is of the highest quality finish with a beautiful, illuminated display stand to show them off on. I bought this as part of my young son's Christmas gift (...after his many hours of reminding me that this is what Santa will be asked for in his letter, tho I think poor Santa would put his back out trying to carry this one!) But on a more serious note, in this day and age of modern video gaming, when more than a few of the games are violent, Zombie busting, Car stealing shootem ups,it's refreshing to see a game is as family friendly as Disney Infinity 2.0, this will keep your young ones (and yourself) entertained for a very long time, with the option of buying further packages anytime, this will create a completely different game but still using the same platform, definitely the future for children's gaming and I would highly recommend this item to all of you, and when bought through Amazon, you know you will also have piece of mind should anything go wrong.

What an awesome game and it features all your favourite Marvel and Disney characters. The kids loved playing Skylanders and so we thought try them with this it looks something similar but in all honestly Skylanders pales in comparison to this game. The game itself is essentially infinite as the title suggests as your kids get to build their own levels to play which offers an educational experience in itself, but also download and play levels created by others who own the game.It also has both girl and boy characters which skylanders did not cater for much with characters ranging from Mickey Mouse to Tinkerbell to Spiderman to Princess Elsa this was one of the big selling points for me havingboth girls and boys in the house.Only real issue to be aware of is the price of the figures and discs required to play the game, so it is an invest to buy this but I was happy with that as it gives you something you can buy or ask others to buy when gifts are needed and people are asking what to get your kids.Overall I would recommend this game and I myself have spent quite a few hours reliving childhood memories playing as superheroes and fairy tale characters I grew up with.

This is so much better than expected, I never got the first one but these Marvel figures were too good to miss!, once I found out about the Guardians of the Galaxy set I had to pre-order this straight away!, the figures look awesome on display. As for the game...... The graphics are not perfect, but its not all about looks, this game is all about having fun.The adventures are quite easy to complete and the Avengers set really reminds me a lot of the Lego Marvel game. the Toy Box mode takes ages to get to grips with, but once you get used to it, the fun never ends!, the Wii U version has the added bonus of using the touch screen to select items in Toy Box mode too.The new "Skill Tree" allows each figure to learn new fighting moves and works really well,it's really addictive levelling-up each figure (in a "Diablo 3" kind of way). It's not just for kids, it's all about having FUN

I bought this because I wanted to try a game less violent than all my others (I'm a battlefield fan), so I went and bought this. At first I thought the £40 was a bit of a rip off, but now that I've had a day to play it, I think it's worth about £35 of it. The missions are a bit repetitive, but still had me entertained for hours. Toy box mode is the best though. You can mess around and build things, set up games, or just explore a Pre-built world. The main selling point of this of course was the ability to select a character by just putting them on the plate. It's quite a nice feeling swapping them out physically, but I think it's just a gimmick to make it sell for more. There's definitely a lot I haven't explained, but all in all I'd recommend you try this game out, just be prepared for a slight disappointment.

If you love Marvel you'll love this!! I have to admit at first the price sort of put me off but when it came the box is massive so sort of understood why it had that price tag and when i opened it even more so. All up the figures are incredibly detailed and would probably look just as good as display items, the monster stand is a lot bigger than i thought and looks cool when lit up but does not come with batteries. The game itself is very easy so if your after a challenge you ain't finding it here, even on the hardest level its pretty straight forward and will become a bit repetitive the more you play it mind. Definitely a kids games but i had fun playing it.This game is not only good fun but a good side hobby if you want to collect all the characters (20+ of them), play-sets and power disks.

This is a game for children. I am a big child so I enjoy playing it. Its so sad that some people got damaged collectors editions. I was lucky and mine was fine. Every thing is very well made and I got a bit of a fright at how big the collectors edition stand actually is. The is an option to make the fighting harder I suggest if your 5 years or older to do so as you will complete the game fast even on this mode. Remember this is aimed at children it is Disney but there is no rule saying adults cannot enjoy this. If you like Ironman like me you will know there is not a good game out for him. This game does Ironman really well. Some nice upgrade and I really want the power disk which gives you 1st person view.I have to say The Hulk comes in handy for the last boss. HULK SMASH :D

I got mine from Game because I get nectar points and game points, I love it well worth the money. Figures look great and are the same as the ones you buy in the shop. Hawkeye, Hulk, Captain America come in the same individual packaging they do when brought individualy. The starter pack is included inside the bigger box, the frost giant stand is a lot bigger than I thought it would be and looks great when it lights up. If you have the room it looks awesome and kids and adults we love it. You get Hulk early, month before retail release and all the Avengers plus the cool base. Can't wait for Loki to fill the last space on the stand.

I bought this pack from Amazon for my daughter's 12th birthday. She wanted it last year but it was released after her birthday. I was also a bit annoyed as we'd paid for the 1.0 starter pack the year before too and she only really wanted the Brave character and the updated disc. When released this was about £50 so at the £13 I paid it's a bargain. It contains the game DVD, base unit and characters you need for Infinity 2.0. She is happy and all the 1.0 figures etc. work with it too.If you're little girl isn't interested in Avengers or Star Wars then this is a great value way into the Infinity range without breaking the bank.

I just placed my order a day before. According to thr Amazon I should received after 23rd of March, but I received next day (and it was free delivery)The pack included: DI play without limits 2.0 blue-ray, 2 figures, 1 poster, DI base, and manual...I paid approx 14gbp, but on the net found only DI base for 10gbp + delivery.I believe this is the best price on the web.Packaging done by care and very professional way and it was delivered by Hermes on the next day.I am absolutely impressed. Definitely marked the seller as my fav.

The games is identical in content to the console versions and everything work as you'd expect. The Bluetooth base is high quality and I find more convenient than the USB console version. That said to play this game in the move is pretty tricky but for me ideal when on holiday or for a nice couch session.I can't give it 5 stars as the performance and graphics have taken a hit (as expected) which mainly affects the toybox in my usage.Overall it's amazing to have all this in the palm of your hand and highly recommended.

3.3.2015

Wasn't sure if this was the starter pack or not for D.I 2.0 as the heading stated Toy Box, but after going into the shop and seeing it it in the flesh and reading the description it most definitely is the started pack for 2.0. Super fast delivery as I ordered it Sunday night and received it two days later (today). My kids are super pleased as the starter pack for 2.0 retails at £30 in Game so for half the price they managed to buy this and another 2 characters. Well worth it and have 2 very happy children.

2.6.2015

Purchased on Black Friday offer as standard price was so expensive. Now price is same, if not lower than that offer price.Good set, bought as it was all the Avengers in one hit. The stand is just a gimmick, no actual space for it where I have game setup. So if you can get starter set and the completer set at a good value, I'd suggest going for that instead.Game and figures are good, so still have the rating at 4 stars.
