The visuals on New Super Mario Bros U are big, bold and wonderfully colourful.The plot is of this platformer is slightly different from the norm. Rather than the traditional kidnapping of the Princess, this time around, Bowser actual invades Princess Peaches’ castle and holds her hostage in her own home. During the act, Mario and Luigi are flung far away and must traverse the various lands to reach the castle and save the Princess.Fans of previous Mario Bros games will recognise some returning features, like the Ice Flowers and Yoshis, However, New Super Mario Bros.

I decided to upgrade my Nintendo Wii to a Wii U just over a year ago, and I am so glad that I did. This game was the first that I got to play on my new console, and Mario is the reason that I have always stayed with Nintendo, rather than Xbox or Play Stations. This game is actually 2 in one; New Super Mario Bros and New Super Luigi. Admittedly, I still do gravitate more so to the Super Mario game, rather than the Super Luigi game, but I have enjoyed playing both.The New Super Mario Wii U was really a way for Nintendo to take their successful 2D platform game, and add a few changes, improving the graphics for their latest console. Overall, the game is very similar to those that have come before.

Having recently updated the old Wii to WiiU I have been eagerly awaiting the "select" range in order to acquire some more games at "decent" prices. While I love the Wii/WiiU I am astonished by the high prices for "old games" that are still 30-40 pounds and IMHO too expensive considering their age - classics or not.Perhaps I was expecting too much of this - perhaps thinking it will be more like Mario World 3D - and it's not. If you have played the old Mario Bros on any Nintendo - this is pretty much the same - updated graphics notwithstanding. Perhaps not everything should be 3D but seems a bit simplistic unless you really want an old style platformer updated to WiiU/1080p.Considering that

This game is good but it comes with its faults, in particular we had to purchase another Wii U Pro controller as we only had 1 and the gamepad, so that was disappointing. In terms of gameplay it is quite challenging which isn't a problem but there is major lag that occurs which makes it even more frustrating. If you are looking for a bit of a challenge, I would recommend this. If you are looking for an enjoyable 2 player game I would recommend the Mario 3D world game instead!

It's difficult at first and my kids (7+9) took a while to get into it, but now they just keep discovering more and more to love. As a dad, my favourite feature is Boost mode which really encourages the kids to play together, assisting each other in levels that they can't complete alone.Haven't had time to play the Luigi version - and we've had the game for ages. Nothing beat top Nintendo games for family entertainment.

Amazing fun as a group of adults. We used to play a previous Mario game on the Wii and this is an excellent upgrade to it. It's a bit hard to play for very young children (unlike Super Mario 3D World where you get put into a bubble if you have the screen dragged away from you, this game kills you!). Excellent value for money (like most of the "Selects" titles)!

Got this for my girlfriend's birthday, we've both really enjoyed playing it. It plays similarly to other Mario games and has an obvious plot but each level still feels fresh and fun.Super Luigi U is basically just the main game with more difficult levels on a shorter time limit. Fun if you want the challenge.

It's not particularly fresh and the level design feels a bit limited and simplified by the multiplayer mechanics. It's just an HD level expansion pack really... Overall a little disappointing, but ultimately it's still a very well made, fun, Super Mario bros game.

Bloody love this game. I used to play this years ago 24/7. It's so fun to play it with someone else!! It's so funny. Recently brought it again as my mum brought the Wii again recently the newer one. Me and my sisters play this a lot like old times.

This game is very entertaining with the story line and all of the different levels. Its great fun and is definitely a worthwhile purchase. Great for all ages to have fun. It arrived on time and is good value for money.

Having so much fun re-living my children's childhood although it's a lot harder than I remember Mario being and the Luigi game is impossible for me but it keeps my 25 year old happy

This is a brilliant game!! If you have a Wii U this should be in your collection as a must.Lots of fun playing on your own and the cooperative option is well thought out.

My grandson was overjoyed with the game He was still playing at 11pm on is birthday.I predict he will spend the next 6 weeks on this game Congratulations to the makers .

Great fun for all ages. Super Luigi U is very hard, but the regular Super Mario Bros U game is great, and now its a Nintendo classic the price makes it a must buy!

Was going to buy the normal version of this game for £50. But then I saw this amazing deal, for only £15!! Its a great game, and even better now that its cheaper.
