I wanted to write a review in defense of this title so as not to put people off. This game is a sequel to the previous V Rally titles, harking back to a series that started way back in 1997.I remember playing the first V Rally and it taking some time to get used to the controls. The game was very arcadey, and twitchy as hell. If you hit the sides of the track you would flip and roll with all the weight of a space hopper. But if you stuck with the game it was exciting because you had to be really careful with the sense of speed and the twitchy handling, and once you tamed the game it gave you a rush like no other, before many difference rally games (such as Colin McRae)came along.Fast forward to today and we are spoilt for choice, with many options, from Dirt to Sebastian Loeb, the Baja remaster, Dakar 18 et al. Not all of these are straight up rally Sims, but they all stay away from the total arcadeyness that V Rally (and perhaps Gravel too) aim to convey. This is not a game where you will be looking to the driving model to realistically react 1:1 as the rally cars would in real life. This is an arcade game, and a sequel to games of yesteryear, and as such, if you haven't played the original titles I can understand the shock. If however, you do have a few grey hairs (or more) sprouting like me, and you have played the original series, you will get a sense of that driving model here. Of course it has been updated and refined, but it's blood still runs through, and as such, it is a game that requires taming. When things click however, you will understand that this game is capable of being just as fun as any other. Give it a chance without expecting a SIM and you will enjoy it. If you liked the originals you will enjoy it. If you've come from Dirt Rally expecting another sim you will be disappointed as others have voiced. But in defense of this game, if you've done your research you should be expecting this to be something it's not trying to be at all.

I’m really enjoying this game, yes it’s tough to get the hang of at 1st but it’s a game of perseverance. If you put in the time to unlock and upgrade your cars over time they get better and better and with this so does the game. I’m loving this game. Rally, Rally x, Hill Climb, Buggy Racing and Khana what’s not to like. There’s loads of content in this this game. There is a learning curve with the handling but a little tinkering with the control setting and a bit of practice soon sorts that out. You can tell no one is putting any time in to the game when the trophy for completing a championship which you can do early on is a very rare trophy. But I feel this game is being a little hard done to,when in actual fact it can be a really good game

It's a good game. The graphics are pretty good. The handling is a little bit floaty, but it's fine.Career mode seems to have a fair bit to do.You can race online, plus there's online challenges which are good fun.Two player split screen is good fun if a bit too mental.I've played "Dirt" games before and this isn't quite as good in some respects, but it doesn't punish you to much if you make a mistake, which is good. It's not got the quality of GT sport or Drive Club, but if you want something different which is reasonably decent, realistic and you can also play split screen, I'd say for under £20 you've got good value for money.

Couldn't disagree more with the 1st review, had this game 5 days,on early dispatch.First off,I'm a graphics junkie, hence I own a ONE X ,and have to say that the game looks OK,not bad,not great,But its sometimes all about gameplay and content,It reminds me of when the dirt rally games were good, and not so serious, this has loads of environments, great handling, and AI ,There is loads of depth, with staff management, customisation, etc, and a breath of breath of fresh air in a crowded market, its no Horizon 4 beater, but the best rally game I have played on X1 to date.Graphics 7/10Handling 10/10Content 8/10value 8/10Recommended

This is a really great game. The gameplay is fantastic, graphics are great and I feel other reviews you find online have been so unfair. I love rally games but haven't had so much fun with one for many years now, and this more arcade type hits the spot. It brings the joy right back. Sure it's not Forza, and how glad I am for that. Once you've played 15mins or so and have got used to the controls you'll have a blast. The different events are brilliant. So glad I ignored the negative feedback. This is great fun

I used to play v rally, colin mcrae, rallisport challenge, games like that, for hours just trying to beat the fastest time using different cars with my dad and my mates, and this game brings back all those memories and is still fun today. I've played this for at least 15 hours and am still enjoying it. If that is what you're looking for then get this. I have only played it on xbox one x and it looks great. Works well with a controller and wheel.

What a fun game with some awesome good looking tracks and great level design. These are fun tracks that have your car bouncing all over with plenty to catch you out. Takes a bit of getting used to but once you find your car set up your sorted. Graphics may not be super slick and lack the polish of other titles but its a pretty game with lots to look at while you tear up the countryside.

Hugely under rated. Not sure what’s happened with all the low reviews for this, or if it’s been improved since they wrote theirs but I picked this up on the cheap and it’s great. Tricky handling yes, but fine once you get used to it.Is it Dirt 2.0? No it isn’t. It’s way more fun and if that’s what you’re after you’ll be happy.

Yeah when I first played this I was the same as other reviews with the handling but if you edit the controls ie steering sensitivity throttle control and the brakes this really is a great game!!! Rally cross is awesome really worth a look as even the graphics are mid tier at worst!!! Rally gd show....

good game, the tracks are long and varied, several types of game and challenges, interesting the use of mechanics, engineers and to have pay them a salary for their work. The game may not have the same graphics quality as in other consoles but it goes to second plane after playing it for a while

Graphics and game play are the best I've seen on Switch, when the screen first loaded I was amazed at the graphics on a handheld. The gameplay is really good and the amount of different types or races are just ace.Highly recommended if you like racing games.

Ok this is not forza graphics but it’s still a fun rally game, looks and plays pretty good on the Xbox one x. Much better than the previous wrc games with plenty of variety to keep you interested, my only negative is the music, luckily that can be muted.

Best driving game I've played on Nintendo Switch so far!If you loved any of the Colin mcrae DIRT rally games... You should stop reading and purchase.I've returned the game as I want this installed directly on my system through the Nintendo store.

So the graphics aren't going to blow you away and the controls are definitely more on the arcade side, but this is still a great fun rally game. Plenty or cars to race and lots of stunning locations, worth a look if you can pick it up cheap.

Just what I expected to be honest for the Switch. Graphics and controls are fine decent amount of content. My only main complaint is the load times are quite long. Not game spoiling but would be much better shorter.
