when you first load this game up you may wonder what all the fuss is about because the handling does feel a little simple with a good steering wheel, (very tricky with joypad) This game may not match up to richard burns on the handling difficulty but it more than makes up for it for the simple fact that every track has been modelled on satellite images with the result that you will never find two identical corners twice and just because he says 2 right you really dont know what to expect, this is why this game keeps you interested unlike richard burns which for me is only good for the novelty factor.The tracks on this game are extremelely challenging and for me personally I find that having the challenge in the track difficulty rather than the handling of the cars is what will always make you enjoy a shot of this game now and again unlike richard burns rally which I feel bored with. I've never had the opportunity to play anyone on hotseat rally or championship yet but seeing as the handling is not too difficult and the challenge is in listening, anticipating and how much you are willing to gamble to get a quicker time then this game is obviously much more appealing and fun and not so much a trainspotters convention played between richard burns nerds only but anyone can enjoy it. As for the graphics they push the ps2 to its absolute limit, of course it is not as good as real life but I would equate the graphics to being as real life but looking through the eyes of a wasp or something which cant see everything in the high definition detail in which we can, it is quite amazing how good the graphics are on this considering its a ps2 game, the windshield incar view is really realistic looking, the only fault with the graphics is that some corners particularly at spain look a bit jagged and not so smooth but that is nitpicking and you rarely see corners like that only very rarely. I've played the wrc games on ps3 including wrc3 and their graphics look like a cartoon and even at that a bad one which moves about like its underwater most of the time but in this game you will at times think that it feels real because all the corners are all so different, the windshield effects and the distances you can see into. Its immense and highly underrated, its really cool game which will grow on you.

WRC 4 features the rally teams, cars and stages of the 2004 season and playing through the main WRC championship (not including group N and super 1600 championships!) will take a long time! Each of the 6 stages take about 4-5 minutes to complete and presents its own challenges. It took me a while to get used the handling, yet it feels so realistic when driving those rally cars, but once you figure out how to set your car up, sliding, turns etc, WRC 4 becomes one of the best rally experiences.As for unlocks, you have to earn them by winning points from the championship, then you can spend points on new cars, stages, and extreme cars.Graphics are amazing, everything appears photo realistic and there are nice little touches like dirt,mud and water splashing on to the car and the windscreen and damage modeling is very good. The replys is like watching rally on TV.The sounds are very realistic and the co-driver does a good job of reading the pace notes. My only problem here is the timing of the calls sometimes. But otherwise, everything here makes you feel you're in the rally itself.Other features of the game includes other championships - Group N and Super 1600, test tracks, tests, pro-driver challenges, quick rally, time trial etc. The game is big a I haven't even reached these other areas of the game ,but it is very addictive.The game get 4 stars though, becuase it does take time to get used the handling, it's not exactly forgiving.But if you want a realistic rally game with the real drivers, locations and lots of fun at a cheap price, look no further than WRC 4.

this game is pretty good the graphics are great the engine sounds sound and surroundings and weather changes seem realistic although the handling is a little hard the car is forever sliding even when in a straight line when you break for a corner then turn and put the accelerator on it dont work well be very careful on the corners hand breaking it just spins you out the damage is realistic too if you hit a tree the tire comes off but for some reason your still able to carry on so parts of it are not realistic i think this game is trying too hard the graphics are great but the actual driving isn't ive played a few racing games like this where the handling not up to scratch this game is not aloneon that still glad i bought it is still worth the money i payed for it if you like rally games and you want one for the ps2 i say go ahead and buy this game but dont expect it to be an easy gamegreat graphics for a PS2 game but not for the faint heartedthanks to zoverstock they are a great seller id recommend them to anyone

This is the first rally game I've played, buying this version in the cheaper Platinum packaging. Firstly I recommend you buy a steering wheel to play this, makes handling a bit easier.I was amazed by the realistic graphics and sounds, and the damage you can inflict on your poor car. After the first go I had one of the doors flapping in the wind...very funny! The handling takes a bit of getting used to...sometimes going in a straight line can prove difficult, but once you adjust to the conditions it's easier and VERY enjoyable.The range of races is incredible, with all the stages from the 04 season,in a variety of conditions...from snow to mud!The only disappointing aspects are the limited range of cars to choose from and the comments from the co-driver are not very helpful and confuse issues rather than help....it's best just to watch for the signs at the top of the screen for the type of corner coming next.An enjoyable entertaining game with hours of play!

Having been a big WRC '03 fan, I was eager to see what improvements had been made in the new version. As you would expect, the graphics and sound are better, and the feel of the game is certainly more realistic. On the whole the gameplay is better, but my biggest criticism is the timing of the co-driver's calls, which are a continual frustration. The Junior Rally championship is a nice touch, great fun and good learning for a beginner. Overall, recommended - and very good value now the price has come down.

I have played all of the Evolution Studio WRC games and think this one is the best. Pity they don't make them anymore.Even today, the graphics for a PS2 game are very good, so is the handling but may'be a bit more sensitive than others is the series. You can do a pro or expert championship and unlock a 1600cc one. There are various other events you can do but the meat of the game is the WRC championship itself.A very good rally game.

this game is heaps better than the last one. there is the pro driver challenge mode, three championships and tons of unlocks to get. Rather than unlocking a certain item for achieving something you get points to spend on unlocks of your choice.The handling is awesome, good set-up options that are easy to do, realistic damage and servicing and brilliant graphics. If you are going to get a rallying game get this one.

I just got my copy and it is the best rally game ever !!! Colin McRae rally has heavy handling and no licensed tracks or cars. Richard burns rally is just crap. WRC 04 has lovely smooth handling and beautiful graphics. plus it is all licensed. It is good for beginners and challenging for pro's. BUY IT!! BUY IT NOW !!!

Well, I've been a purchaser of the Mcrae game for the last 3 years and was stunned at how bad 05 was....in fact in terms of driveability I think it's gone backwards......exchanged the game for WRC 4 ( my first purchase of a WRC title ever) and am pleased to say that it was a decision well made.

Rallying on the PS2, much better than standing up to your neck in mud on a cold november day, plays like the previous editions apart from a few different tracks and cars updated

this game kept me occupied for hours a big improvement on wrc2 which I own it was delivered within 2 days of order would recommend to friends good game
