WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RUGBY is the official video game of 2003 worldchampions England and I can tell you that everything you have heard orseen about this game is true ,as it is a brilliant game. I hated the EAsports rugby games. They are virtually unplayable and extremely difficultto master , whereas this game , just like the classic JONAH LOMU RUGBY ,is very easy to pick up indeed and the controls are straight forward.Thisin turn has made a very addictive and absorbing game indeed. The graphicsare excellent and the likenesses of the English World Champions really isuncanny , and this in turn makes up for the England team being the onlyone with its actual players in the game ,although I noticed in the lastfew days that Wales seems to feature its own players too , as RobertSidoli scored a try against me playing as England , and the try wasconverted by Stephen Jones.Each England player has different levels offitness and this is another example of the detail given to this game .Forinstance if you pass the ball to Mike Tindall or Will Greenwood you aremuch likely to make yards and get a try than if you pass it to JasonLeonard or Phil Thompson.The commentary from Sky Sports duo Miles Harrisonand Stuart barnes is as incisive and intelligent as you would expect anddoes not repeat itself too much.The only slight criticism of this game Icould make is that the reaction of some opposition players is daft attimes. For instance you can be diving over the line for a score whilecertain opposition players stand staring into space.I was initiallydoubtful over I would get into this game , but I can honestly say that Ilove it and whenever I have played it I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Ihighly recommend this game to all PS2 enthusiasts and rugby fans.

This game has revolutionised the future of rugby video gaming. The difference of this compared to EA games rugby 2004 is immense. The gameplay is better and more exciting, you can do many more things that you would be able to do in the game such as blocking drop goal and punt kick attempts. The biggset improvement is the graphics, it is all alot smoother and easier to appreciate and the palyers also look alot more lifelike. The crowd sing 'swing low' which makes the experience more real and Wilko has his classic conversion stance. The only downside to the game is that they didn't pay for many rights to broadcast on the game, e.g. there is no world cup, but there is a world Championship.The other countries kits also dont have their sponser on- only England with the 02 logo. Overall this is a must get for all rugby fans and has set a new standard for rugby gaming.

Overall a massive improvement on rugby 2004 .the game play is much better and much more logical .the game is very easy to pick up and unfussy . you have to work hard for a win against superior teams , but can enjoy romping through the lesser teams like Georgia or Scotland . there's the occasional fun touch too - you'll want to replay time and time again when Jonny Wilkinson knocks himself out on the post..there are gripes - the daft feverish tapping to win scrums , the frequent random knock ons , the 5 metre scrum when the opposition has kicked into your goal area , the lack of endorsement from other unions which gets you silly player names and unrecognisable team symbols - and above all onlydull England apparently having any supporters who can sing..otherwise it's just what we wanted - Jonah Lomu Rugby for the PS2

This game sidesteps around all rugby games to get in it's way.It takles EA's Rugby 2004.Rucks over all sports games.With smooth graphics, and crippling tackles, there is no end to the fun you can have with this game. The realism in the players is immense, and the stadium and crowd detail is amazing. The game has taken on the task, of simulating the best sport in the world, and they have succeeded...I would ditch Rugby 2004 and buy WCR if you really want to know how rugby is played...Hats off to Akklaim for their excellent work on this masterpiece. This game has a dynamic takling system.Brilliant gameplay graphics and is brilliant fun to play.

I absolutely love this game - although basic, in terms of multiplayer it is by far the best rugby game going. My best mate and I, both avid rugby fans, started playing it when we were just 12 years old. We are now both 26 and it's still our go to game over a couple of beers. If you love rugby and haven't tried this game, ignore the release date and order yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed!

This game is just like the original Johna lomu game, except with better graphics, the world cup 2003 teams and new commentators. Whe this game comes out it will be the best rugby game yet (even better than Johna lomu rugby). Buy this game.

I bought this because my old copy was scratched; a great rugby game that, I admit, is more 'fun' than 'realistic'.
