I bought this Model from ebay and thought i would review it .Firstly, it's not waterline friendly, not at all. The hull is packed with internal bulkheads, and is split down the centre line. BE AWARE OF THISThis kit comes packaged as many Trumpeter kits these days, with foam protecting styrene and parts particularly vulnerable to damage. I saw no flash and injection points are all well hidden. Moulding is extremely crisp, and many details will not need photo etch replacements. The hatches are WWII era British, which is a nice detail. Both her AA and pom poms are good, especially for plastic. The PE set that covers some fine details is also nice,though I wish a manufacturer would include some railings.I enclose 3 pictures of the ships Turrets and 3 Main Guns on the sprue .I also did some dry fitting. The hull halves merge easily, and the shape is well held with the ribbing. The deck parts all go on easily, and base superstructure parts show no signs of gaps. Construction of this model appears to be relatively easy with little clean up.This kit does have a number of accuracy issues that may put off dedicated fans of this class and those obsessed with detail. Trumpeter has the wind baffles (both plastic and PE) as some sort of window complex. The Belfast also had her middle barrel set behind her port and starboard guns. Trumpeter has simulated this by molding a shortened barrel on the sprue !!If you do not want to model the ship with her guns at level, you will have to find some aftermarket assistance for new turrets .( I recommend ' SHAPEWAYS '- where there are better Replacement Main Turrets for sale ) - Micro Master By sozzap23ref 1- /350 RN Triple 6" MKXXIII Turrets No Barrels (4)it was thought that the kits 2 funnels were wrong at one stage , in fact the present date HMS Belfast's Funnels are from her post-war refit in 1945 .So if you want a ' Battle of North Cape ' or D-Day 1944 Belfast - the Funnels are excellent - and accurateso all - in all , its a very good kit ! I enclose 6 photos of the kit parts and the replacement SHAPEWAYS 6 inch Gun Turrets if you fancy ordering them as a bespoke item ( delivered to your door in 1-2 weeks )

Really high quality model! It's definitely worth buying the 1:350 British photoetch railings to go with this model FYI. But I'll just skip to the pros and cons.Pros-- Very detailed and accurate- Comes with photoetch parts- Good stand and name plate- Easy to paint and the parts don't need too much sanding or fillingCons-- For a 1:350 ship it isn't the cheapest....All in all I'm really pleased, a nice base and a quickly (albeit rushed) perspex case and it looks the part!

HMS Belfast model depicts the ship in Dec 1943 at the battle of the North Cape. I am altering the model to how it looks today near Tower Bridge. I would have liked the kit to have the hull split in above and below the waterline. All my models are waterline models.

I've yet to build this model, but having already built two 'Trumpeter' warship models I'm sure this will be of the same excellent quality. 'Trumpeter' models are so well molded that component fit is superb. The completed models give tremendous satisfaction.

Very high quality kit. High precision plastic mouldings and brass etch parts included. There is also some very nice engineering to ease the fit during hull construction. Trumpeter are leagues ahead of anything I've built from Airfix or Tamiya.

This kit represents a historic ship from world war II that has been preserved the model that you can make up is very detailed and can be enhanced with after market products for even greater accuracy in scale.PMB.

Trumpeter kits are quality and this one has a high degree of detail that can be enhanced by wooden deck and handrail extras.
