I use this to mount my HTC base stations - had to get these ones as opposed to alternatives as I have really high ceilings and these are the only ones I found which would go high enough, using the extension pole that comes with them.It is a little tricky to get them perfectly upright and holding against the ceiling and the floor, and they do wobble a small amount if knocked, but so far have been up for about 2 months without any issues.Be careful that they are not somewhere they are going to get knocked, however, as if they are hit too hard they will flex and fall down (tested this on purpose when setting them up).I have one of mine in the corner behind a sofa, and the other in between a desk and a wall,

I have no idea what a cat fence is, or why it might require a pole to hold it up, I purchased these poles to hold up base stations for a HTC Vive system, and they do the job just fine!
