There are many ethernet switches available. TP-Link have a decent reputation and this 8 port cost version only a little more than the 5 port. Bandwidth was good. Packing was good and construction seems sturdy.Installation was easy. Connect your new switch to your old router. Plug in your network devices into the new switch, wait a minute and everything is attached to your network as before. No messing with configs just Plug & Play. Once operational I velcro'd my switch out off sight. Perfect

I recently renovated my apartment and wired every room with Cat5 Ethernet cable for reliable smart TV connection .Also I needed more ports for other devices’ wi-fi hubs. This is the perfect solution to bring all the cables neatly into one device and connect to the BT router. Being able to wall mount easily meant a very neat installation. No set up required. Just connect to router and you have 7 extra ports to connect whatever you want. No fan or noise and robust metal case.

I don’t understand the technical aspect of it. However it works and does what I need. You can’t ask more than that in my book. The only criticism I’d have is that most routers etc have a ‘dedicated in’ that you’d plug the cable from the router into. I kept wondering if it would make any difference which port I used for this. I eventually worked out it didn’t. The ‘downside’ of this is you ‘loose’ one of your ports. So you only actually get seven new connections etc.

If you need more ports than you have on your router then this is what you need. It’s small and easily set up and installed. I was putting in some Wi-fi security cameras and needed an Ethernet to connect to the nrv because my Wi-fi network wasn’t strong enough. This switch made it possible and I put the other Ethernet connections through the switch.It’s a small device and it’s easy to find a suitable location for it.

Needed a switch to extend my hard wired network. Didn’t want any fancy features to configure... ideally needed a set & forget system. This is perfect...plug everything in and it just works. No loss of speed. Fanless so very quiet, actually makes no noise at all. Would highly recommend if you want fast speeds, no hassle and a straightforward setup and forget about it solution. It just works! Brilliant!

Single Ethernet cable from Router to this switch at the back of the TV, Blue Ray player, TV Recorder. Short cables from the switch to each of the devices. All the clutter is behind the TV.Brilliant.Tiny downside - the lights to show the links are active are at the side of the sockets so easily obscured by cabling, but once it is installed you probably won't want to look at them anyway.

Used this to expand the number of ports available on my home computer system. My router had only four ports available, but the ethernet switch gave me more . THaving eight ports means there are also more available for future expansion .Installation was easy and quick, it has even increased the speed of the signal between my devices, Brilliant piece of kit!

I hadn't realised how my home network was impeded by slow switching until I upgraded to this product. Now my files download to my NAS in no time. And for years I just thought it was a slow NAS which I almost upgraded at many hundreds of pounds instead of this much more modest purchase. Don't miss out like I did and don't fall into the trap I almost did too!

A great Gigabit network switch with really good results by a well known and trusted manufacturer for a good price. I am using it with a whole home WI-FI and if using it with PoE one cable is all you need to hardwire all your devices and get the speed you pay for. I reserved it online and picked it up within 20 minutes. Simple to use straight out of the box.

This product boosted the devices it was connected to upto 10 times the speed they had been previously working at. So simple to connect up,all you have to do is plug in the hard wires running to the verrious electronics devices,plug the TL-SG108 to the power supply and the job is done,very very pleased with this unit. Would recommend it very much

We'd used all the outputs on our cable network provider's router/hub and this provided a straightforward and effective solution. It's a sturdy but compact unit, and doesn't get hot. No configuration needed, and there's no apparent difference in performance between devices connected via the switch and those connected directly to the hub.

Coupled with the TP-Link Deco's I bought from Argos, I've totally transformed my internet experience by allowing me to put the VM router into modem mode and use TP-Link equipment to control everything internet related in my home. For the price, this is a great bit of kit and I haven't had any trouble with bandwidth being strangled.

It's a great Ethernet switch for the price. The green led's on each RJ45 socket only show 3 states though (on=link up, off=link down, flashing=activity) and not the speed of connection, but then I don't often watch it anyway :-) PSU is 9V 0.6A. There are a couple of screw-holes + slots underneath for mounting to brackets etc.

Needed a quick solution for the lack of ethernet ports on my router. Went for this and glad I did its ace!. Literally plug in and play, no hassle. And as 1 gig upload speed it has considerably increased my internet speed. Very happy with my purchase. And always a great service from the guys at Heyford hill Argos, Oxford.

This switch works well though the instructions are a bit confusing some are for managed switches rather than an unmanaged switch like this one. Difficult to tell how fast it is without proper performance testing but with 8 gigabyte ports it should be fast at least till the internal processor gets overlaoded.
