The whole TP-Link range is excellent quality and this is no exception. I work in the IT industry and needed a Gigabit switch in a bit of an emergency. I can get next day delivery from my IT distributors but needed a quality product, at a good price, with quick access and Argos and TP-LInk sorted it.The product is excellent if you are looking for a quick expansion to a network and is a very simple plug into your router or existing data switch and hey presto, another 4 additional Gigabit outlets

Remove all packaging, plug in mains lead, plug in any CAT 6 or 7 LAN cable (not supplied) to port 5 to your router, make sure your home router/internet box supplied by your ISP has Ethernet port/s. Once green light activates you can start installing LAN cables in ports 1,2,3, 4 no need to power off, leave on when adding/removing LAN cables! Range extenders can be used via wifi, to connect to home routers, TP-LINK RE305 621/5679 with a LAN cable from extender to port 5 . Happy Networking!

I use a Huawei mobile internet modem/router which only has one Ethernet port. I wanted to connect my computer, network attached storage and another device to the router so this switch was the ideal solution. I thought it was going to be a bit of a job to set my network up but couldn't believe how simple it was. Also, it was great to pick this item up in my local Argos when I wanted it rather than have to order from a computer specialist and wait for it to be delivered, Very pleased !!

I needed this because we have 2 PlayStations in a uni room so the internet is pretty bad and there is only one Ethernet plug in the wall ...Brought this and was so easy to set up worked straight away and now both connections are phenomenal no lagging and works perfectly!Very small device so can easily be hidden/doesn’t take up any space Just keep in mind that you need an Ethernet cable to connect to the wall into the device! Was a life saver couldn’t recommend enough!!

I needed an Ethernet switch because my new router only has three ethernet ports and I needed four, this switch is plug and play, no set up needed and it just works which in this day and age is great, you could give this to a five year old and they could install it, TP link are renowned for quality and this doesn't disappoint, solid build quality and will probably last forever, if your short of ethernet ports and need a one fits all solution get this ethernet switch.

Good value (very cheap).Works very well.Only criticism I would make is that the instructions didn't make it clear which port I should connect to the modem/router. I had to Google it to find out. Turns out that any of the ports can be used. but it would have been better if this was simply stated in the instructions rather than me having to spend time looking it up on Google.Overall very pleased with this switch and would recommend to others.

Nice piece of kit, my daughter was having trouble watching online video as microwaves and other electrical equipment in her block of flats kept interfering with her wifi. I plugged this in, connected it with a cable to the router and a second cable to the laptop and it just worked. Now she gets better picture quality and isn't continually seeing glitches as people turn things on and off.

Needed a few extra ports as ran out on my BT Smart Hub. You will require one Lan lead to connect onto your existing hub leaving 4 ports free. Runs cool and has no fan so silent. Make sure you have enough ports or look at the next size up which has 8. Ideally would have preferred the LEDs to indicate with a different colour if they are running in 100m or 1000m mode. Perfect for my needs.

I hadn't realised how my home network was impeded by slow switching until I upgraded to this product. Now my files download to my NAS in no time. And for years I just thought it was a slow NAS which I almost upgraded at many hundreds of pounds instead of this much more modest purchase. Don't miss out like I did and don't fall into the trap I almost did too!

Bought this to expand the number of items that could be connected to my broadband router. It takes up one connection on the router but then gives you 4 extra connections into that single connection. Although listed as 5 port there are actually only 4 available to connect other/extra items as 1 port is used to connect to the router. Easy to connect and set up

Worked straight away without any messing around or surprises. I work in IT and know what to expect from these type of items. Would normally just give 4 starts for an item that does what it says, but made it 5 as the construction is very solid and it doesn't get warm even after leaving on for days with all ports active (unlike some I've had in the past).

I bought this as the router had to be in a different room due to the incoming line. this allowed me to use powerline adapters then put this in the living room where the smart tv,computers etc are and allowed me to have them all connected via Lan cables for stable connecting. this was so easy to set up and plug and play.

I bought a new 4K Blu-ray which didn't have wifi and all the ports in the hub were in use already. I got this and everything now connects to the internet with a few spare ports. Although this is 5 ports, it means 4 devices can be connected as one port connects to one of the ports in the hub. Great little buy.

I bought this to replace a D-Link switch which was becoming unreliable. It's a neat little unit, well built and so far, reliable. As a few other reviewers have said, it would have been nice to have the power socket on the same side as the Ethernet cables, but for the price, this can't be beaten. Recommended.

Placed it under my tv, plugged it in to my Powerline network adaptor to reach the router, other port were connected to TV, Sky and computer. No set up or config required besides switching it, although I did need to tell my TV to use a wired instead of wireless connection. Very straightforward and simple!
