I cannot praise these devices highly enough for the internet cabled home. They make it so easy to extend the home network to multiple devices. This super device is effectively an extension / expansion unit for reliably and robustly multipyling up your home network and internet access.I have now purchased three of these 5-port units and so far I have installed two of them. I have my internet wireless access point in a cupboard downstairs and use it wirelessly for occasional laptop use etc. However, for speed, complete lack of interference and reliability (especially the latter) I have personally always preferred a wired ethernet solution. I have four ethernet ports in the back of my internet access point (a 3 year old Belkin Wireless-N Router)and I have a long cable from each of these ports extending to key rooms in the house (e.g. the lounge or study). Then, currently at two out of the four of these room points, I have one of these devices connected to the room end of the long cable. That then gives me four free plug 'n' go internet points from one cable to the router. I can then connect any mixture of up to 4 internet accessing devices to each of these points (e.g. PC, HDTV, Games console etc).Where I live, we do not get great internet speeds (no cable in the road) but even so we are very satisfied with the service we are getting via these devices. I have not noticed any slow down as a result of connecting multiple devices - although I do not generally have them all running at once as I can usually only be in one room at any one time. Download and upload speed test results seem unaffected. The major convenience is that all my devices can stay permanently and reliably connected and are therefore ready for use immediately on demand. My guess is that any slow down I do get will at present be caused by speed limitations of the internet into my home rather than the capacity of this device but I cannot prove that. The device itself is neat, small (about 4 inches square), sturdy, totally silent and very, very simple to install. Remember that each 5 port switch provides 4 internet/home network ports (because 1 port is needed for the incoming connection from the main router). No setup is required. No changes are required to the main internet access point/router. Just plug the cables in and the device sorts out which is which (incoming internet, PC etc etc). It does need a power outlet somewhere near to where you plan to locate it (just one more device to plug into the many surge protected multiway power adapators sitting behind each and every computer/TV set up).Overall, it is inexpensive for what it does and has made an enormous difference to my home network in terms of scaleability, flexibility, reliability and convenience. If only everything electornic was this easy and effective! An essential add on to any expanding wired home network.

Solwise 85Mbps Homeplug Adapter - Twin PackI bought this product to connect my Home Cinema system receiver (Internet Radio), satellite receiver (BBC iPlayer functionality), Wii console (Play on-line) and any other item (Laptop) I need net connectivity for, via a Homeplug mains network. Also used to update drivers firmware etc on same kit. Works flawlessly. Excellent and economical multiple device broadband connectivity solution. Wireless dongle for Home Cinema receiver is expensive and would only connect one device, this hub connects 3 devices for a fraction of the cost. Others may need additional Cat5 cable interconnects, I had a couple spare already. Obviously for this solution I had the Homeplug(s)already, but, it can be used for a direct wired connection to Broadband router, for example.

I put the FS108 behind my TV and connected a PS3, a Humax PVR, a Netgear WAP and a Buffalo TeraStation. Then I connected the FS108 to the ethernet socket on the wall. Plugged it in, turned it on (using the neat on/off switch built into the power lead - nice touch - turned on the devices and immediately everything was working. All of them automatically connected at 100Mbps (as shown by the individual green LEDs - there are separate LEDs to show if a device connects at only 10Mbps) and worked just fine together.Really pleased with the product and how straightforward it was to get it all going. Terrific value for money.

Its a very neat box of tricks. It sits behind my television and has one 15 metre ethernet cable plugged into its rear side (which comes from the BT hub in the hallway). There are 3 ethernet cables coming from 3 internet enabled devices, television, xbox and blu ray, which are all neatly plugged in. No set up required. Just plug together and turn the power on. Its hassle free and sits neatly out of the way doing its job. Remarkable and sturdy built little piece of kit. 5 Star worthiness.

This is a solid and simple to use device to connect up to five network devices. No software to set up is required, which is a bonus, so just plug in your cables and go. I have an existing wired network system in my small office and my router has 4 outlets which are all taken. This unit enables me to add another computer and a networking printer to my existing system and is ideal for this kind of adaptation.

I got a netgear because I have had 50Mb Broadband installed by virgin media and wanted to take a cat 5 cable from their NETGEAR hub box they provided, to this Netgear FS108 and distribute to a wired network to a number of computers. I plugged it in and after switching one or two boxes off and on it started working fine. That's it. I 've never had to bother with it again.

I ordered this to distribute Network around my home and cables could be put in as part of renovation works. It is a very neat, small unit with an external power supply provided, but does just what it says on the box. Very simple to set up, one feed in and seven out. I located in the loft space which made it easy to drop cables down the walls into the required rooms.

Didn't want the hassle of running additional Ethernet cabling from my router to the living room but had to have multiple Ethernet ports for PC, smart TV. The Switch is the perfect solution. Just plugged the original Ethernet cable into the WAN socket and then plugged my devices into the other sockets. Worked straight out of the box and no configuration required.

The Netgear FS105 arrived 2 days before I expected so I was very pleased.I work from home and needed to connect two computers upstairs) to my BT Hub downstairs . Very neat device , looks goood , feels solid and does the job very well. Would recommend both supplier and the goods to anyone needing to expand their network

If you want a cheap plastic hub that gets knocked about every time someone touches one of the cables, then there are plenty of them. This is a strong metal unit with some weight that will stay put and not get dragged around by the slightest movement of the cables. It's Netgear, so of course it works perfectly.

Removed the old router, connected up the power supply and network cables, switched on the power and I haven't touched it since. Does what it says, runs cool, consumes a quarter of the power of the old unit, and being metal cased its tough enough to be able to stand the cable modem on top of it. Recommended.

The Netgear 8 port switch is encased in a metal housing and being flat in design, is easily stackable. It is a plug and play device and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I have an older version of the same model in use for five years with no complaints. A highly recommended compact ethernet switch.

I needed to increase my LAN ports behind my tv due to a number of appliances now needing Internet. This excellent piece of kit does exactly what it says and I've been very pleased with the result. Plugged in switched on and away we go. No fuss and haven't thought about it since. Excellent!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Five switched 10/100 Ethernet ports in the usual Netgear pro-range good looking, blue metal case. Runs cool and silent, and can be wall mounted if desired. You can never go wrong with the Netgear blue metal boxes when it comes to networking equipment.

I needed to expand the number of outlets on my Virgin superhub. I read the reviews and they were not wrong. This is a well made, compact switch which "does exactly what it said on the tin". Fast delivery got this little beauty to me super fast and in time to expand my home network.
