I see a few bad reviews anout this game, mostly complaining thatthey can't take on half an army using a machine gun with a forcefield around them, reflecting bullets. The whole point of the game is to use your planning skills, perception and intelligence to take out the enemy and accomplish your mission.GR is a very hard game, but that makes it all the more rewarding, and there are training missions and easy and medium settings for you to hone your skills on. A huge plus in this game is the AI. In some shooters/stealth/action games, if you pick off one guy with a sniper rifle, the others will stand there, practically begging for a bullet in the face, but in this game,

For those of us who can't justify/ stretch to a PS3, this game is a pretty involved & clever game.Quite a hard game to get into, I tried several times to tackle the training & gave up, bored. Trust me & just start the game for real. You will soon get the hang of the controls & menus.One of the better games, you can't really John Wayne it through the levels... Strategy wins over Banzai charge every time!There are several improvements that could be made to the game.... Though I haven't played the newer games (YET). Every shoot em up has draw backs but this is one of the better military games!Cheaps as chips (now) Worth spending a couple of quid on, It hooked me in big time!

When you first get this game and do the training missions you would be forgiven for thinking this game is mediocre. DO NOT GIVE UP THERE. The second you get into the real campaign you realise that this is one of the best (if not THE best) games on the PS2. Excellent graphics, superb atmospheric sound and music, huge maps and imaginative missions. One important detail is that this game shows the dead bodies - there are no "flashing/disappearing deaths". A real bonus are the Desert missions and I read that more mission disks will follow in the coming months.

I bought this game after reading the reviews, and found it brilliant after the training. However the controls are quite confussing at the start but get easy to get usefull.If your looking for a game that is easy to pick up and play i would steer clear of this game but it's still very enjoyable

This is a brilliant game and i am fed up with reviews in magazines that compare it to the PC version . Nearly every review says how the game is made too easy due to the map which shows where the enemys are.I hate when they say this , as putting the game on medium difficulty turns off the map.
