I really don't understand why it only got 2 and a half stars! I quite like the game as it is quite a stealthy setup, but still with the big shoot-outs.Menu: When first creating a profile you choose between solo and multiplayer campaign, then you have to decide what you look like, eg: Ghost 1, ghost 2, marine, civvilian, even the president, although you only look like him, not actually the character. As for the control settings, you can only decide the default controls or others, you can't actually change, say the fire button to what you want.Plot: You are Mitchell, a ghost, and your main mission is to kill terrorists, pretty simple, just like the missions.Missions: All the missions are very short - too short for the number of missions the game contains: 14. That's the same as Cod 3, except the missions in that are longer. Despite the shortness of the missions, they are very fun, especially as they are more on the stealthy side. They're not very difficult, all except the last one, which I found more frustrating as it's just you on your own surrounded by enemy tanks and terrorists. The great thing about the missions and the game is that when you re-play one, unlike a some other war games, you choose your weapons. Missions range from: Protecting the president, freeing tanks, night missions, blowing up enemy vehicles ect.Weapons: At the beggining of each mission you a given a default gun, but when you re-play one you choose your weapons. Each one has it's own re-load speed and sights. Unfortunately you can't actually look down the sights except for sniper rifles, but i'd rather be able to sprint than have the look down the sights feature. You soon find your favourite weapons, I favourite the MRC guns as they all re-load fast and have a nice and steady firing rate.Controls: The controls can be slightly sloppy and are quite different from Cod or Moh or other games. The commander controls are easy to get the hang of. The control I like the most is sprint.Teammates: The annoying thing I found is that the most comrades you get are 1. Despite that though, that one man can be helpful, as you can send him forward, make him go silent, fire at will or return to you. The thing I do like about your mates or rather mate, is the fact that he actually takes cover. In all the Cod games except Modern warfare 1 and 2 I always found that people stood out in the open firing madly. But in this people take cover behind walls and everything.Enemies: I found that the enemy AI wasn't as good as your teammate AI, as they run around and rarely take cover. When shot, the they fall to the ground so lightly, and put their hands down as if making sure they don't hurt themselves.Health: In the bottom left corner is a green man who represents your health. When shot he turns to lighter green, then orange, then red, then one more hit and you're dead. 4-5 shots and you're dead, which at first I found annoying, then I learnt the games all about taking cover and taking it slowly.Compared to: Compared to Call of duty, I'd say this matches all of them, though i'd rather have Modern warfare 2 compared to this. Compared to Medal of honor - this is way better. There's not much else to compare it to as this and say left 4 dead are completely different. I would recommend this just as much as Call of duty 3, which is a couple of pounds more, though i'd say if you want a half decent war game to play, get Cod, if you want a short, stealthy, fun game, get this.

I received this game yesterday with very high expectations, since I loved the other Ghost Recon games, and had been following this game closely. Firstly, I think it is important to note that this was originally supposed to be a launch game for the Xbox 360, however, Ubisoft felt that they needed more time to make Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (GR:AW) the ultimate gaming experience.Visually the game is absolutely stunning, the character models are very complex and the movement is spot on, they do move like they have lots of gear. There are multiple impressive visual effects also, for example there appears to be a haze in bright sunlight, and when the bullets fly, your HUD goes very fuzzy, adding to the immersion. In addition, the night vision and thermal vision have been merged into one, and thermal sources produce a thermal blur when they move.In single player, there are basic squad commands such as 'move here', 'regroup', and firing modes such as 'assault' (to go in all guns blazing) and 'recon'(for the stealthier missions), you also get to command a drone to find out where the enemies are hiding, the locations then get updated to your map. The 'cross-comm' is also a cool feature; it allows you to see what is happening from the eyes of your fellow 'ghosts' or drone in the sky, and also allows feeds from command and television reports. Explosions are also very impressive, and smoke effects are decent, although not quite as good as in Call of Duty 2.In multiplayer I have only tried co-operative missions with up to 4 players so far, although I belive that you can have up to 16! The co-op missions worked very well, you can play objective missions, or a number of other types, such as the simple 'firefight'. The multiplayer missions have also been designed specifically for that; they are not the standard single player fayre, since the single player and multiplayer sections were done by different teams (Ubisoft France, and Red Storm). I suffered from no lag issues, and voices were always clear in the game, even with loads of enemies on screen. This game is the best Xbox 360 game I have played so far, and I believe I will still be playing it for quite a long time, look out for a demo in Xbox Marketplace soon!!

Wear to start on this game. Well Ghost Recon is the first game that I have every played in the Tom Clancy series. I saw some of the first reviews and the adverts, as well as some traliers on xbox.com, so I decided to try it out and got if for Christmas. Now the menus are very easy to go through, you can find everything you want and get to a game really quickly or through careful set up. However with I not having a HD TV the writing tends to thing you have a 40" TV so puts all the writing on hat width, wereas I have a 12" TV, the writing is very small and extremely hard to read. This is not however a problem with the game, more on my part. The actual begining of the game is extremely good. The cutscenes don't change animation and is very smooth, plus depending on how many enemies you killed when you reach a pickup points, you will still see them fireing at you, with the vibrations, not disappearing just because it's a cutscene. The first level which is the tutorial, is very good and informative and slightly humourous. It teaches everything very well, showing what to do, then to carry on it then tells you to do. Also I find it funny when you are in a postion were you et shot and killed and the bloke in the helicopter goes "That would have killed you Captain Micheal". Admitedly I find the AI a little hard to control, and when there is another tank/helicopter, I find it hard to judge between them and get them equal.Overall this is an extremely good game, a few improvments would be to include a way that you can destroy tanks etc, as most of them time you team mates do that with there armor piecing bullets. How come we don't get those? Finally the reason why 4 not five. Is the fact that it is extremely hard. And when you get really far then die and have to start from the begining. If it was going to be that hard you should ethier have an option to, have it on a mode of easy or, that your team mates can heal you like you do for them.Gameplay 9/10Graphics 10/10Loading 10/10Controls 7/10Amount to do 18/10Overall 9/10

The Xbox 360 has been waiting for a game like this. Something that will show off the console's huge power reserves and something that is easy to get into but giving you fair few struggles along the way.All the trailers I have seen for this game have been gameplay footage - there aren't really any cut-scenes to speak of. Between missions whilst travelling in a heavily armoured vehicle or chopper you are able to look around whilst dialogue is played out. Character models, animations and scenery are all stunning and are as close to lifelike as I've seen on any game. Best viewed in high-definition though.Ghost Recon makes great use of a surround sound system as it enables you to pinpoint where voices, gunfire and explosions are coming from. There is music in the game but its mostly incidental and infrequent, allowing you to listen to the sound effects and hear enemies moving before they start shooting at you. This is a great game to play, with straight-forward controls and enough tools to get the better of your enemies making it easy to get to grips with, but it is hard, even on normal. It doesn't take many shots to kill you, there are no energy packs and you can't save between checkpoints - so you'll often replay some sections over and over in order to reach the checkpoint. Its a minor problem in the grand scheme of things. Most of the missions involve leading your team through the streets of Mexico city to rescue people or blow things up. A simple system of pointing at a location with your crosshairs and pushing up on the d-pad will issue an order to your 3 team mates, or a tank or a helicopter gunship. Making the most of your team is the key to success, although it doesn't lead you along like Call of Duty 2.With plenty of Live options and downloadable content and a game format that feels like Socom 2 on steroids, you really can't go wrong.

Wow! I've never really been into war games, but I was bored of my other games, too much pro-evo and too much need for speed. So I looked on Marketplace and just tried to find a cheap game with good reviews. I ended up buying this.I have absolutely no regrets, the graphics are brilliant, the sound is very realistic (I imagine surround sound would be amazing). Not only that but it kinda has a story line and there is more to this game than just shooting. I bought this over gears of war cos of how many people have told me that gears of war is boring cos all you do is hide and shoot. Ok so this game isn't a great deal different but you get to order around your own little troop. You also get to command helicopters and tanks. If you like a challenge then this game is definately up your alley. It's not the hardest game ever but it isn't easy either, you have to redo some bits a few times and then other bits can be completed with ease.I've only had the game a couple of days and I'm really getting into it. The controls are pretty simple to, the tutorial bit at the begining really helps and you can kinda guess your way through if you forget things. Trial and error!Only issue is the night vision goggles which ain't to great but I've never used real night vision so maybe its not that great either. The realism in this game is cool, so you get sun glare and smoke cover. Also loud explosions close to you cause loss of hearing. You can also heal your troops, unfortunately they cannot heal you, so it can be a good idea to send them into the battle field first. Finally I love the fact that unlike most xbox 360 games, the game autosaves every 5 minutes or every checkpoint so you don't have to find stupid save arears or complete whole missions first.

I got Ghost Recon on Thursday past. I've never played a Ghost Recon before, so I didn't know what to expect from the game, apart from the mind-blowing visuals I had seen in trailers etc. Training starts and you are overwhelmed with the information to take in...Cross-Com this, cover that. Once you get the hang of the actually pretty simple interface for commanding troops and vehicular support, the game proper is launched, and what a game it actually is! Dropped from your helicopter, looking around reveals the best graphical enviroment the Xbox 360 has delivered yet. Helicopters cause paper and debris to fly around the landscape, palm trees sway in the wind, distorting the shadows and sunlight exposure. If you thought the exposure in PGR3 was good, then Ghost Recon blows it away like a shot from the ZEUS-MPAR rocket launcher. The gameplay is fresh and is easy to control, with the combination of the Cross-Com and Tactical Map bringing a helpful, innovative interface for commanding troops and for driving the slightly crappy Clancy narrative. The excellent presentation of the story masks an average plot well. Online, Ghost Recon excels at both being fun and deep to play. Although first person mode is forced on anyone who plays split screen (both on Live, system link or local play) it has a tonne of game modes and countless options to tweak to find the best game for you. Lag isn't an issue either, although, as in mentioned in previous reviews, there is some v-sync issues with the online game (I haven't noticed in the single-player). In all, Ghost Recon is a comprehensively brilliant package for the Xbox 360, and perhaps the first essential killer app for Microsoft's white wonder.

I will need to give you two reviews here off/on-line.SINGLE PLAYER:It's awesome, I played the original TC - Rainbow 6 on the PC and found it to be to technical and subsequently was left to gather dust in my game rack, however I was able to pick up the basics to this game very easily. The normal level is challenging with a good engaging story. Its all very realistic, including the daylight effects that another reviewer was so harsh of. Looking directly does affect your vision as it would in real-life but I did not find this a problem, more just another very realistic feature. The best feature of the game is the HUD which allows you to get your band of men to do your hard work, however, being a novice at this game it took me a while to master this properly, however you need this technique to be able to complete the last few levels (my personal opinion only). One of the simple things I liked that the game did was the sneaking along walls, looking round corners, and just having the generally feeling of being a Spec Ops Pro. All in all a very enjoyable game for Single Player.ONLINE:Before I start this bit of the review, I have to say after completing the single player my game stopped working, just when I was really getting into it. However after about 2 months it started working and I am getting into it again. One of the disappointing bits of the multiplayer version is you can't sneak along walls doing that Spec Ops thing, but neverless that is a minor issue. The levels are varied and challenging with you being able to find people of different levels that you will be able to fit in with.

I am going to focus on what i believe is the best aspect of the game and one that is not covered as much as it should be in the reviews so far - GRAW on XBOX LIVE.Okay, so the single plyer game is good and a worthy reason in itself for anybody to buy this game but other reviews cover this in far more detail than i would wish to.SO what is the deal breaker about this game. That is simple. For me, no other game comes close to GRAW on XBOX live. People may gasp a that statement due to COD2, which admittidly is good on live, but for me does not involve the tactical skills needed for GRAW. What do i mean by that?try running around in this game shooting for fun andi'm sure that you won't last more than 30 secconds before being picked off by a sniper or a cutely positioned ambush. This game creates so much tension when playing on line, with such involvment from all players when playing in team modes. The choice of games abailable is huge, and stepping up to the Ranked matches offers another tough challenge.Try playing last man standing and seeing all your team mates getting picked off one by one, leaving you to survive against the enemy alone, knowing that all of your dead team mates have your view on their screen and can now also see the enemy, knowing that they are talking about the game in progress.....I own 7 gtames on the 360 and still play all of them to varying degrees, however, i always know that ii'll end up playing this online at the end of a session. This game is Special. Buy it.

Ok - i like everyone else waited eagerly for the 360 and set the alarm for some stupid time to ensure i was a happy shopper and not running around frantically trying to buy one! I bought Call of Duty 2 which literally consumed my life with its involvement and accuracy. Having completed it and read reviews on this game i had to have it .... so i did. When i loaded it up i was impressed with the graphics and fluidity, it too does feel like your in the war with a crack team behind you - or if your cowardly sending them ahead incase of ambush!!! However it is 3rd person which to me isnt as involving as 1st person, something to consider if you love these games. It can be frustrating, one shot and your dead!no second chance which is realistic but in a game can be annoying when you are 90% of the way through to be shot by the enemy who happened to fire a lucky shot at you. the night levels are annoying too. However its like all genre's, its horses for courses, you like tactical positioning, stealth and difficult games then this is for you, if you love being in the thick of it and are gun ho!! stay away as you WILL get annoyed. not bothered about 1st or 3rd person then you will be happy. A great game but only if you have ticked the boxes as mentioned above, if not wait for battlefield 2. Graphically its great - the controls are fiddly to start but once your in the zone, my word its hard to put down much to my wife's annoyance!! :)

I was lucky enough to be given a brand new XBox 360 as a way of saying thank you for all the work I'd done for my now boss (sorry long story). To be honest I wasn't all that excited from what I'd seen of it I wasn't as blown away as I wanted to be, but all that was about to change...Having set up my new console I placed this game into the machine without much in the way of high expectations. Was I wrong. My first foray into the Next Gen was about to be the greatest game experience I have had in a while. Sure the graphics look great with neat little effects adding to the realism, but it is when the combat heats up that you get to see where all the extra processing power went. The enemy AI is phenomally good. They ran rings round me in the early stages whilst I was getting used to commanding my squad. It was only through perserverance that I was able to finish this game. The situation in Mexico city is pure Tom Clancy although I must say the story does get a bit convoluted in some areas - but saying that it does an excellent job of keeping you hooked and making you feel part of the events unfolding.Unfortunatley this game won't be for everyone. It does have a lot of depth to it and isnt really a pick up and play kinda game. However those who like tactically challenging games should really check this out.

I decided to buy this game from seeing the reviews from game websites, claiming it was "Awesome" "5 stars" etc etc. I felt i was taking a risk, knowing little of the 'Ghost Recon' series. However, the first impressions of the game were outstanding, an excellant atmosphere and sutnning graphics, which blend very well, even the way you character runs and moves is extremly life like. I am just using a standard TV, playing this game on a HDTV the graphics would be outstanding! The Missions are fun, and dont get repeative. Many similar games i have played can get repeative, start...stealth mode for a bit, shoot, then end of mission, then the next mission it happens again in similar surroundings etc, such a Call of Duty or Rainbow6. However, GRAW seems to make excitement every mission, something new, working within a team. Also you get "intel" from supporting black hawks in the sky, giving you a sense of relism, as in a real war situation.I thought i was taking a risk buying this game, espically for the price. I was very suprised at how well this game has come out, the designers have done themselves proud. I would definatly definatly recommended this to anyone who is considering buying this game, in doubt? just get it! you will be grateful. One of my favorite games on the XBOX360.

I was looking forward to this one for some time and although I was happish and was also left feeling a bit disapointed. It looks very nice but it did not impress me as much as other xbox 360 games. To me it seemed like a very polished xbox game. Not a bad thing but this is a xbox 360 game.It plays well also but there is nothing really new here. Contols take a bit to master but after a while you get the hang of it.It does have one big weakness. The games AI at times is shocking. My team mates have a dangerous habit of running in front of me while I am firing at the enemy. Also during one of the protection missions the president we were protecting must of wanted to die as he repeatedly walks outfrom his safe hiding place straight at the enemy?????So it is worth a look at but understand before you hand over your money this is not the classic we were told. Hire before you buy.Graphics 8/10Sound 8/10Playabily 8/10Lastability 7/10Pros- Interesting storyline. You seem to end up caring if your men live or die. Solid gameplay. Better than averge graphics.Cons- Poor AI. One minute the game plays easy and your flying and then you hit a rock hard part that takes hours to get through.GRrrrrr!!!

This game takes siting at home all weekend to a whole new level; it is just awesome. i have never seen a game that is a stunning to play as this. you are the captain of the ghost squad and our mission is to protect the american president and the mexican presidant, (unfortuanatly the canadian pm is killed). using a supurb combat and movement system you guide your troops through mexico in a desperate attempt to save the presidants. the campain mode is difficult enough on normal mode but crank it up to hard and your asking to be anihalated, but the achivements you achieve will make your peers heads spin. there are a couple glitches in the game including not being able to press against the wall in multiplayer mode which can frustrate and irritate you.the inclusion of the uav cyfer drone will save you from death more than once; but be warned if you loose your temper stay away because this will have you replaying missions intill your blue in the face. hopefully a patch will be released soon which will fix the few bugs in the game. the one thing i havent mentioned are the amazing graphics and im not going to say anymore, you will just have to buy the game to see.Must Buy Game 9.6/10

As the 360 is my first console since the megadrive(!) and having played the rainbow six games on PC with mouse etc I was wondering how on earth you could translate a complex squad tactical shooter to a gamepad with only a few buttons. I was pleasantly suprised. The controls do take getting used to, but by the end of the first misson it was all coming quite naturally. It plays brilliantly too, If you ever stop and take a look around at this city its graphically brilliant, light shimmering off the high rise skyscrapers etc. The AI is fairly intelligent, focussing fire in chokeholes, making you work your way round, taking cover and reacting nicely although i've yet to encounter one that uses grenades.hat impressed me most though was the non stop aspect. You complete a mission and immediately go into your black hawk and have to use the gun to clear the landing position for your next mission...you're in enemy territory and the game makes you feel that, theres no safe place to rest up.All in all impressed, four stars though because of a few minor gripes with the cross com controls and with the sightly linear maps, but overall a damn good buy

I bought this game based on the Ghost Recon games I played on the PC and the first Xbox. After enjoying those games I instantly picked up GRAW. I played it originally on a standard tv, even here it upheld the next gen hype, and on HD it just got better. The clarity of this game on a setting of 1080i in High Def was nothing short of exellence. The story line backs up the looks of the game nicely and the characters are believable and well scripted. Gameplay, taking cover, squad control etc is simple yet effective. The only gripe I have with the weapon controls is the length of time it takes to change from weapon to weapon. And having to change from rifle to pistol to grenades can become annoying when outnumbered and under fire. The multiplayer side of the game is something rather special too. With a split-screen option supporting up to four people on one console, allowing four players to play online in all multiplayer modes including a small multiplayer campaign makes GRAW a very long lasting online game. System link options are also easy and very playable. An old game but worth the current asking price.
