Sturdy design, compact and safe to use, and it makes beautiful chips in less than 8 minutes. 5 minutes at 160, give them a shake, then finish them off for a few minutes at 180. Delicious. Also cooked battered fish, homemade scampi, apple fritters, doughnuts, and homemade onion rings in here. Just a simple batter with 2 parts flour, 1 part cornflour, seasonings and enough water/beer to make it like thick cream. Dunk your goodies, drop in the fryer at 180 and they're puffy and golden in no time.

It looks great on the worktop very stylish. It has very simple settings easy to use . It cooks perfect chips prefer them cooked in this than the air fryer see a lot tastier. It's easy to see food cooking through large clear window Takes only 9 mins to warm up Large enough basket to feed 3 adults a decent portion of chips . Minor downsides are you can't remove bowl to clean and the light is tiny to let you know it's reached cooking temperature but these are not too detrimental to its use .

This fryer is so easy to use, my only issue is the size of the unit, I bought this as a 1.8ltr capacity as I live alone and the smaller ones are too small, the 3ltr too large, but the bulkiness is a bit too much, I have kept it and it works well. I'm sure I will get used too it. The viewing panel on top mists up and you cannot see much when cooking so you have to keep opening the lid to see that your not overcooking your food. I would recommend this product as it does what it says it will do.

Well designed and light to lift on to a worktop, this fryer is easy to use though you do have to open the lid in order to lift the basket (unlike others). The round basket fills the oil pan well making best use of a small space. Being so light, does make the fryer feel a little flimsy, but in practice it is robust enough. The instructions are contradictory about how dishwasher safe the lid is. The box says one thing, the booklet says another.A very good value fryer that does the job well.

Somehow this appliance brings the Nigella out in me when I'm in the kitchen. I'd purchased the white family sized fryer last year and I'd fried the oil out of it but to my horror it broke and I did not get replacement cover. ALWAYS GET THE REPLACEMENT COVER! this one works just as well, it has a slightly smaller internal cavity but the basket is taller so you can fit just as much food in it. it seems to take slightly longer to heat but who cares it's black and looks very nice in my kitchen.

I wanted a black fryer to tie in with my kitchen colour scheme and this was a good price. I only use it for cooking frozen chips for 2 people. Takes just over 8 minutes to heat up to 190 degrees. Depending on the thickness, takes 4 to 6 minutes for golden brown chips. I've been using it for 2 weeks and it works fine. My only issue is sometimes the handle pops out of the basket but that's maybe my fault being too vigorous with shaking the excess oil off. It pushes back in again no problem.

I bought this fryer 2 weeks ago and have used it about 5 times so far.It is a nice size to store in any kitchen cupboard but is big enough for a family of upto 4.It has a lid that is able to be closed while cooking, feels a bit flimsy but I've had no trouble with it.Pros: Looks nice in black, has lid, made by Tefal, easy to store, basket big enough for small family, temperature control, power switch.Cons: Lid feels flimsy when opening/closing, temperature control lever feels flimsy.

Very pleased with my choice of a new deep fat fryer which replaced one I have had for 25 years plus! Was unsure whether or not I would be happy with the size as some reviews had mentioned that it was small for a family of four. Can only assume that they eat too many chips at once! The lid feels a little flimsy, but the glass panel is excellent for keeping your eye on them during cooking.Great that you don't have to keep unhooking the handle during cooking as I had to on my old one.

Purchased this as we needed a new deep fat fryer. We had looked at severl before and tend to buy the cheapest and learnt the hard way. We were surprised on how compact the fryer was and had a useful long power cable. Noted that the basket and lid is dishwasher safe. I found that the basket handle was fiddly to fit and seems loose when attached. But its ample for the job required. The basket hold enough for 3 greedy adults. All in all a good value item, i would recommend it.

Positives: (1) It has an On-Off Switch... others require them to be unplugged after use. A highly-recommended PLUS !!!That's the main reason that I've made multiple purchases.(2) It does what it is "designed" to do, and is efficient.Negatives:(1) Basket Handle is poor - very flimsy(2) Tricky to clean, except the Lid. Unlike a Slow-Cooker, the "Pot" is not removable. It's hard-wired. (3) Emptying used Oil requires the whole unit to be picked up and emptied.

We have not had a deep fat fryer for about 20 years and decided to try one again as fancied a change from oven chips and wanted to do my own scotch eggs. After reading reviews on this product was so glad we purchased as its a brilliant fryer, looks good, lightweight no smell and super fast chips etc with frozen and home made perfect every time. keep an eye on frying time though as no timer and everyone likes things done different. easy to use and clean. recommended

Simple to use and looks good in black. A pity you can't take the inner section out to clean like my old fryer but not a big problem, you just need to lift the whole fryer to pour the oil out. Holds a decent amount of food. Cable a decent length. Haven't really tested the different heat settings yet but cooks frozen chips and fried potatoes and scampi well. You do get the smell of fried food despite having the lid down but this is inevitable with any fryer.

I've never bought a deep fat fryer before, but having a boyfriend that could happily live on chips I took the plunge, and I'm glad I choose this one. The ease with which it heats up and cooks everything evenly and without having a room full of nasty smells and black smoke I wish I'd madew this purchase sooner. The 1 downside I can see is it doesn't have a removeable bowl for easy cleaning, but that's a small price to pay. BUY THIS NOW PEOPLE !!!!

I always hated clearing up after cooking a fry up whether it was fish and chips or samosas and spring rolls. This little machine does wonders as it cooks evenly and makes no mess. You can look into the window to see if your food is cooked too. The only downfall with the product is the bowl is not removable which would have made it easy to clean the appliance but it definitely beats cleaning a greasy cooker!

Make sure you are knowledged about cooking times-which are variable when compared to the chart provided in the accompanying booklet! On the whole-I think it brill! My very recent first cooking experience with it was a thumbs UP-my daughter loved her nuggets n chips more than the fast food shop, & since using it a second time, I know my family & I will be enjoying what the Maxi fry can deliver!...
