I've just received this Jacket this morning and am very pleased with it, The quality feels to be excellent. The sleeves are a bit long, It's worth pointing out though that the sleeves do have hand shield extensions which make the sleeves appear even longer and there are plenty of velcro adjusters on them to get a good fit around the cuff. With the Winter/cold weather insert the jacket feels incredibly comfortable and definitely will keep you warm, the quilted jacket insert attaches to the outer coat via buttons so is easy to detach and attach, it only takes a minute or so to reattach the liner to the main jacket.I was a little unsure if the size I ordered would be big enough as I am a little err..Large round the middle and usually have to order Jackets sized XXL but the advice given to order a size smaller than you normally would was spot on, even with the Quilted Insert attached this XL size jacket fits me well and the larger size would have been too big.All in all a very good quality jacket that I am sure I will get plenty of usage out of.Edit on 07/08/2013well I have had this jacket now for just about 2 years, and wear it pretty much daily except in the middle of summer, I've wandered over hill and dale and through dense woodland among other places wearing this jacket both with and without the quilted liner, and I have yet to find issue with the quality of this product. Two years almost daily usage and no buttons have come loose or dropped off, nor has any of the velcro on the sleeves or the collar become frayed or any stitching come lose either. There have been no tares or holes developed in pockets, or on sleeves when caught on brambles or broken branches. from my perspective two years after purchase I have no issues with the quality of the product. I'm still very pleased with this purchase and still happy to recommend it to others.

Quality wise I would say this jacket is OK, but if you're expecting the kind of ruggedness that would see the US troops through Vietnamese jungles you will be disappointed. The thin stitching wouldn't last two minutes crawling through bush terrain, and the zipper feels a little stiff and cheap, like it might break if forced. On the plus side, I bought it to see me through the ravages of the Sheffield city streets, so it should be just about up to that task. The removable quilted inner bit makes it quite cosy. Just trying it on for a few seconds showed me how effective it was at radiating back my own body heat, making it ideal for chilly autumn or early spring weather.I immediately removed the inner section despite the current cold weather as I tend to walk quite fast and can get hot quite easily even in cool temperatures, but I know I'm not typical in this respect.Size-wise: I'm six foot tall, somewhat podgy but not very broad-shouldered. I went for the medium (as opposed to my usual large size) and it fits fine. It's maybe a little snug around the belly when zipped up, but that'll just be me (I'm not 18 anymore, sadly). I also found the sleeves a little long even when folded in with the Velcro, but again that's probably just me as I get this a lot with coats and jackets.Oh, there's also a hood tucked away inside the collar. I doubt I'll use it as these flimsy little hoods are never comfortable, IMO. They always flop over your eyes making it hard to see and causing rain to run down your face. This one seems no different. But that's why I carry an umbrella. An inside pocket would've been nice but not essential, having as it does four good size outer pockets. In conclusion I would say for forty-five quid you won't get a better jacket these days, so would recommend it for those on a budget.

I am 6'5" with a 50 inch chest. I ordered a XXL as they said that you should order a size smaller. I found this incorrect and sent it back for refund. This was done very quickly. Brilliant service.Ordered the 3xl which fits great. The material is wind and shower proof. Longer than average sleeves. Kept me warm when chilly and once it warmed up later in the day I did not over heat. Love the option of the hood and storm flap for it. The lining of the jacket has the hood slipped between that and the outer. The quilted inner liner is completely separate. The quilted one buttons into the jacket and makes this very warm. The outer fabric is hard wearing and can be treated with a waterproofer for greater versatility. The small extensions to the sleeve are perfect to keep rain out of pockets when you have hands in them.Over all well impressed with this and why has it taken so long for me to find. Will get another.Overall a great bit of kit.

The m65 jacket is a great quality item of clothing, it looks good, feels good and is at a sensible price. They come with a nice warm winter liner that you can simply unbutton to remove, so this jacket is great for winter and summer. Take note of the seller's size tip as I have a 46 inch chest and the XL fitted like a glove, as they say go for one size smaller than the size guide states. The arms were a tad long but I just folded them back and the deed was done, looks great. The zip is a 3/4 length proper brass bad boy designed not to get in the way should you decide to sit down. There is a pull cord around the waste area that when tightened give you a little more shape. If you are looking for a nice military jacket that's comfortable to wear in the summer and winter then look no further. Very happy with not only the jacket but the quick delivery aswell.

I bought this just before that very cold winter hit. Good thing too, this jacket is lightweight but very warm too.I should have listened to other reviewers before I purchased it as the sizes are definitely on the large side, still that is handy enough at helping keep my hands warm so no complaints there. There were some loose threads on the jacket when I got it but a quick brush down sorted that out. The only reason that I have knocked a star off it is simply because there is no pockets on the inside, I was a little disappointed by this but it was no excuse to return it, instead I used the money that I would have spent on postage to get an inside pocket added by a local seamstress. To sum up,it's a fantastic jacket, it is warm and quite stylish, however the sizes are very large compared to what you may be used to. Definitely worth the money!

Bought this jacket as I'd been looking at the M65 for a while and wanted the olive green. I wear this jacket all the time and I am very please with it however a couple of the studs came of so I sent an email and they asked if I wanted a replacement or 50% refund, I went for the refund. So for about £25 this jacket is fantastic- water-proof, very warm and looks great even at £50 its a steal and I really didn't think the quality would be as good as it is but for size I'm am 6ft 3 and 16 plus stone with 46-47 chest and the large fits just great and with the liner out bags of room. So in summery great jacket but you get what you pay for.

Excellent item fit was good, the only issue was the diameter of the sleeves on the button in lining. They were a little tight, when wearing a jumper. However I removed the sleeves of the inner lining to make it a body warmer and the jacket is now perfect for me. A suggestion to the manufacturer that inner lining has zipped detachable sleeves and the sleeves are an inch bigger in diameter. That is my only criticism of a jacket that I am really happy with. XL size is perfect for me with a 43-45 inch chest

Love this jacket, always wanted this type of jacket but never quite seen one id pay for. Then I seen the M65 field jacket. perfect!! Was thinking it was going to be a bit big in the arms as im not the biggest bloke but this in M fitted perfect. A place for the phone which seems to be getting bigger every year and a place for wallet and keys. BRILL!!! all round a good and comfy jacket to wear. thank you!!

Nice jacket, well built but obviously cut for a European. A little tight but ok and slightly long in the arms. Usually an American xl will fit me in a jacket but the reviews showed it as being smallish. Jacket is nice and well built. Pockets aren't great. I use it for sitting in a deer stand in mornings and evenings and the dark color matches the stand. For what I bought it for it works well.

Very good and much cheaper than the Alpha variant. It is very water resistant due to its Quarpel treatment (water just beads of mine) and it also comes with a detachable liner, which great in colder weather. The finishing isn't maybe as good as more expensive versions, but this was only the odd stray thread here and there that could be quickly snipped, otherwise the finishing was ok.

Generally a nice jacket. Heavy enough to keep you warm but not excessively warm to walk round in. Nice soft cotton but hardwearing. The overall construction is good and the liner is quite nice. One of the poppers fell apart within a week though. They supplied a spare with the jacket though. Washes fairly well but as you'd expect takes a while to dry properly.

Very well made and looks great, the design is the exact same as the old US Military M65 Field Jackets. It's new and a little stiff, so a few good washes will wear it in. It fits perfectly in the stomach and chest area, both with and without the liner. The sleeves are a bit long, and they're difficult to keep rolled up, but that shouldn't be hard to fix.

I owned one of these for years. Really well made with metal zips and solid studs. I kept the detathable lining in and used it as a winter coat and what a coat. One of the best coats ive ever owned untill my wife forced me to take it of. Cant recomend it enough. Only issue is size. If it fits with lining in then when lining is removed coat feels too big.

Jacket arrived all nicely boxed up and in good time, nice material, sturdy warm smart looking jacket, husband loves it, has no complaints, although after reading all the reviews we ordered a size smaller as recommended and it was too small and we had to return it and bought the size we would have originaly, should have just gone with our gut!

11.9.2013

Great jacket at a competitive price, arrived very quickly, and after following the advice of the seller regarding purchasing a size smaller than your actual size due to the jackets being generously cut, it was a perfect fit. Extremely pleased and have no hesitation in recommending it to other prospective buyers.
