I wasn't sure how to fill out the "How does this product fit?" thingy -- I was actually expecting it to run somewhat small based on comments and the size charts, so I ordered a size up with this information in mind. Technically that's "fits as expected" but I went with "somewhat small" to give people a heads up about its size. I am 6' and 200 lbs (though many say I look slim for 200lbs) and all of my current jackets that fit great on me are a size L (one is actually a M), so I ordered this jacket in a size XL and it fits exactly how I want it to. I prefer slim-fit jackets with just enough room to layer up and wear a hoodie or sweater on underneath with out feeling overstuffed or claustrophobicand that's exactly what I got.I ordered both the indigo and black versions of this jacket so I could pick my favorite and return the one I didn't want, but honestly they're both great so I'm keeping them lol. Part of the reason for ordering both was on different websites the "indigo" colored one looks very different -- it seems to range from a dark grey/almost black to navy/almost light blue depending on where you were shopping. My fear was that it would be too blue for my tastes and I'd want to exchange it for the black one, so I should just plan for that and order both. What actually arrived was closer to the dark grey color than blue, so I was happy. It's definitely darker than what's shown here. I was looking for a jacket like this after seeing the one The Punisher was wearing in the Daredevil show on Netflix. I know it's not an exact replica (I think the M65 Giant is closer) but it's close enough and the color was spot-on.One odd thing, though... For some reason my black version had a very crisp/sharp/firm collar that stands upright just fine, but my indigo jacket's collar is kind of fluffy and limp -- it's an admittedly tiny difference but one that's noticeable both visibly and in the way both jackets feel when wearing them (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE). Not sure if that has to do with the way it sat in the box during shipping or the way it was made, but I'll see if I can correct this by refolding the hidden hood and maybe iron out the collar a bit. Again, a small and possibly fixable complaint, but one that does kind of make a difference, especially if you like a nice crisp collar like I do.Also there were a few features that I now see are listed on the product page but I guess I didn't see when I first read it: armpit vents, an inside pocket, flaps on the shoulder blades that snap closed (presumably for greater maneuverability), a similar flap with snap closure on the lower back, some waist adjuster thingy and drawstrings on the hoodie. These were all unexpected features (that, again, I guess I missed when I read the description) but were all great and warmly received surprises when I first tried it on!All in all, an excellent purchase that I'm very happy with :)

Overall, I do like the jacket. A few points:- I read some reviews that said that it was slim fitting. I'm 5'11", 160 lbs, 42" chest. Because I like my jackets more loose fitting, I opted for the XL. I think I made the right choice. It fits perfectly in the shoulders, and is a little bigger than I would like in the mid-section. But, I think the Large would have been too slim fitting for my taste.- There is a drawstring going around the mid-section, so it could be cinched up some around the middle. That feature feels a little fragile, but I haven't really used it so far, so I can't say for certain. But, it was a pleasant surprise.- Sleeves: Yes, the sleeves are long (not as long as I was expecting, really), but there are two buttons on each side, with a tab, so that you can adjust the diameter of the wrist. I moved buttons, so that I could cinch up the wrists even more, and now they rest at my wrists. So, all is well there.- It is not a winter coat. It is barely more than a windbreaker. I was hoping that the material would be a bit thicker, but after reading reviews, I knew that it wasn't going to be a terribly warm jacket. I live in a warm climate, so this works for me. Just know that it will not be very useful in freezing temperatures.- Mine does pretty much look like the photos in the description. It is definitely a casual jacket.- There are several pockets. If you want to use any pockets for your hands, you'll have to unbutton the two lower outside pockets, and go through the top. There is no side access. There is one inside pocket. It is not at chest level, but rather, it is down at the bottom fringe on the left side. It fastens with a velcro tab, but does not have a flap at the top. I doubt I will be using it much.- The zipper is backward, but so far, has not caused any problems.- If you wear a watch, be careful of scratches. Each sleeve at the end has a little flap that folds over and snaps. The inside of the snap can scratch your watch if you aren't careful. I tuck my watch inside of my shirt sleeve before putting on the jacket.- The hood in the zippered collar is a thin nylon material. Unless I'm caught in a downpour for an extended period of time, it will likely never come out.- It does ship from outside of the U.S. But, for me, it arrived in no more than a couple of weeks, which beat the estimated arrival date.- For the price, I would give it a thumbs up.

First, a disclaimer: This jacket is NOT a standard M65 field jacket. It does not meet the specifications of the many manufacturers that offer a classic M65. For example, this jacket will not accommodate a winter liner, which is the only thing that disappointed me. That being said, this jacket is indeed an M65 "style" jacket. And "style" is the operative word. Unlike its American cousins, this jacket is cut in what is commonly referred to by clothiers as a European style; which is to say that it is very form fitting. So, if you are slim or athletically built, this jacket will look and feel as if it was tailored (assuming you pick the appropriate size). I am 5'11'', with a 38" chest, and the medium fits wonderfully. This jacket also has improved upon the original M65 in a couple significant ways. One, it has an inside pocket on the left side, with a Velcro closure, large enough for a wallet or passport. Secondly, the hood concealed in the collar is made of water-resistant nylon, instead of cotton. Anyone who has owned an M65 knows that you never really use the hood unless you get caught in the rain without a hat or umbrella. At least with this version of the coat, your head is far more likely to stay dry in a sudden downpour. Americans will have to get used to the zipper being on the opposite side, but that is a small price to pay for a really sharp casual jacket. As a final thought, when I first wore this jacket out if the house, my wife said, "Ooh, your sex appeal has just gone up a couple notches!" That is a fact.

So happy I ordered a 2nd jacket. The first one I ordered when the sale was complete and I had the jacket in the picture attached I wasn't able to write a review. When I ordered a 2nd jacket, blue in color, for some reason it let me write a review even though I have yet to receive it. I stand 5'8.25" ( got to fit in that 1/4 inch :) ) and weigh 180lbs. I work out a lot. Most of the time I have issues with my shoulders and arms fitting through things. In the US now I mostly wear Medium but sometimes I need a Large pending on the maker of the clothing. I ordered a Large and it fits just fine. Just a tad bigger than I'd like. I washed it when it came in to try and shrink it but I didnt notice a difference.Somewhere on the thread I read someone saying that this jacket has a liner in it- it DOES NOT. Unlike an actual M65 jacket the ends of the sleeve cuff are tailored. This jacket very much has a vintage look and feel to it. Left handed zipper but that's okay. What's nice about this fit is that when I'm driving my truck the sleeves of the jacket aren't pulled back behind my wrist which usually happens when I wear a jacket because my upper back is wide. Great purchase. If you like a more tight fit and you are ordering from US maybe you order the same size as that you order in the US and do not order a size up. Someone also wrote that this is a women's jacket- WRONG. This is clearly a man's jacket.

This was the replacement for the 'Large' one I ordered previously - as I mentioned in the other review - being French-made, it was too tight across my chest and shoulders. The Extra-Large is, as expected, very long in the arms, but now larger enough for me to both breathe AND moved my arms at the same time.It looks and feels okay.However....When looking for, and finding, the interior pocket, the quality of the stitching revealed itself.I made to open the pocket, by pulling upon the Velcro section on the upper-edge, and one side of the pocket simply pulled away from the jacket's lining - the Velcro remaining resolutely connected.I can't be bothered to return yet another jacket,so I shall simply carry out the required repairs myself - it will hold together then. Why the hip-pocket flaps are ironed in such a way to make it looked 'rugged and lived-in' is, for an ex-military chap, quite beyond comprehension, so they'll be properly ironed at the first opportunity.Who ever heard of such a thing? It's as non-sensical as buying jeans with holes already in them, or walking around with your underpants on display, telling the world your arse is for sale to the highest bidder, for pity's sake!

This is a great jacket. The price is reasonable considering the quality--strong stitching, sturdy material, good buttons, reliable zipper. It has 5 pockets: two upper chest, two lower chest and one inside pocket that closes with velcro (located near the left hip). There is also a hidden hood contained within a zipper, though the zipper is black as opposed to the color of the rest of the jacket--not a big deal, in my opinion. The product title specifies that the jacket is "short", but it's about the same length as the average jacket--the waist ends at the ends of the sleeves. If you want anything longer I would suggest getting a parka. Lastly, this is a jacket shell--meaning: it is loose enough to wear other layers underneath; it does not come with a secondary coat lining. It is warm enough for the typical autumn evening, but there is plenty of room to wear a hoodie or sweatshirt underneath during the winter. Also, it is not uncomfortably baggy if you decide to wear just a t-shirt underneath.Overall, the jacket is worth the premium price you'll pay--though $60 isn't steep for a jacket of this quality. Worth it.

As the headline implies, this is a good lightweight jacket; I would find this most suitable for temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The jacket is thin so do not expect it to be a winter jacket. The medium fits on me decently and I am 5' 9" at 165 pounds; the only problem is that the sleeves are long so be wary of your wingspan with this jacket. If you want a stylish jacket and live in a mostly warm area then this would be good for you. Unfortunately for me I live in the north western states so the jacket will see rare use. If you are from the superior country, then you will notice the zipper is on the wrong side which will take some getting use to.Another thing is that the jacket has some threads sticking out in certain areas so the quality control is average. The concealed hood is made of a parachute like material and fits over my head fine; my head is pretty big. It will probably be good for light rain but the rest of the jacket is not a waterproof material. Overall, a good jacket for "California Cold" that would make a stylish compliment to anyone's clothing.

Love this Jacket!!! First off the advice about the size chart is true, always order a size up... I'm 6'2 14st 45inch chest and 34 waist and ordered an XL and it fitted me perfectly. The sleeves length came down to my wrists, slightly over and I've got a long reach. The jacket has a waist string to tighten the sides and this came round by the bottom of my ribs while the pockets came down to my hips, I'm only trying to give you an idea on how the jacket fits. The jacket is really stylish and is a good material, it fits perfect, isn't baggy nor is it tight, looks even better with the waist string tightened, bringing the sides in a bit, has 4 pockets outside and 1 inside and the collar has a hood inside but I don't plan on taking it out,as the collar as it is sits perfect and doesn't curl or twist at the ends, the zip has a black leather border that looks really nice. Arrived today before expected and was packaged really well. I got the olive and cant fault it. So as long as you get you're size correct, you shouldn't have an issue. Hope this helps.

Britannia is very nice jacket. Soft washed feel, style and color just what I was looking for. Looked at lot of this style jacket, but this was best combo for me in terms of simple design and utility with great looks. The XL fits me perfect (5'9", 200 lb, broad shoulders). It's fairly lightweight and I have room for flannel or light hoodie. Didn't want heavy liner, this is perfect for cool SoCal nights and temperate days. When I first tried it on thought it was little tight in shoulder, but that was due to being compressed in tight packaging. After wearing it a day it loosened up considerably, actually plenty of room. Looks like in picture, vintage style, light olive (sage) color.Couple of minor things. It has interior pocket, and four button down exterior, be nice if it also had hand warmer pockets you could slip into on sides. The stand collar would be better without the fake leather surrounding the hood zipper. Just make it twill canvas like rest of jacket.

A great looking fully breathable field jacket with a very flattering fit. The only thing that really lets it down for me is the terrible choice of black synthetic leather for the zipped hood compartment. On a sand coloured jacket it just looks out of place, tacky and ugly. I really wish they had just used a sand colour to match the colour of the jacket. I ended up cutting the hood out and folding the collar down just to hide the black strip. I find that it looks much better now and plan to permanently leave it that way. It would have been nice to also use it as a standing collar, but to do that I might have to learn some sewing skills just to replace that eye sore of a black strip. The other version of this jacket (with the removable lining)has the right idea as far as the collar design goes, but I wanted a 100% cotton (no polyester) jacket, so settled for the Brittania.

This Jacket is has a really amazing quality!!! The price is very fair. It looks even better than expected. I would buy this article again anI highly recommend this jacket. One star less because of 2 small things. So I have 2 small recommendations for the manufacturer:the zipper of the hood is very good. But the black color of the material lets the jacket look not so nice from the back view (i have the jacket in olive). The pockets in the bottom are not easy to access with the hands. So when you are freezing you get hart times putting them in the pocket. The problem could easily be solved, if the pocket would also be accessible from side wards.UPDATE :The hood is unfortunately not protecting against rain - 5min of light rain was already too much. The material is not water repellent and every drop gets through it. So do not consider this jacket to protect You from rain.

Great "light" jacket. It DOES run small by U.S. sizing. I am 6'1, 230 and I ordered the XXL due to cautionary reviews here. I usually wear an L or XL depending on the cut of shirts. While the XXL is a touch long in the sleeve, the torso and length are great. It's weight is great for the fall and our mild California winter (especially with my "natural" insulation). The hood is best left in the collar, as it holds it up nicely. I wouldn't consider it good for a rain though, and would only use in an emergency. The product was shipped from England and required a signature - which means I had FedEx direct it to a pick-up location near my office so that I could get it during the work day. While delivery was predicted for a month out, it arrived in 3 days. It would have been two if I had been at home during the 2nd day.

I read the negative reviews before purchasing this jacket. There were some that claim that it's in fact a "woman's jacket" because it fits too small. So I was prepared to return it if that was indeed the case. Upon opening the box I knew right away that it wasn't a woman's clothing item. The jacket is already distressed so it has a nice "worn" look to it even though it's brand new. I'm 5' 10" - 185 lbs with a 42" chest. The body fit is excellent. However, it's about 1" too long in the arms. But I'm okay with that. If I had gone to a large size instead of XL it would have been snug in the body and I like a bit of space around the chest. To those who rated this jacket 1 or 2 stars because of fit issues, you only have yourselves to blame. You obviously don't know how to order properly.

I would recommend this jacket on a few conditions: you or someone you know can sew well, and you aren't afraid of left hand zippers. All European jackets are made to be left handed for some reason. if you're a fellow red blooded american male, that means you will have to re learn how to zip up your own clothes in an inferior way.I'm 5'10, 150lbs and the jacket fit great, except the arms. they're maybe an inch too long, even after washing. it also has a small metal brandit bit on the shoulder where a patch should be, so you're gonna want to remove it. inside pocket is good for a small flask or cc. don't be carrying your 1911 in it.all in all relatively small problems,I'll try my best to fix all these and update on what must be done to make it great.

If you are looking for a M65 style jacket that doesn't look like a baggy ,heavy , badly fitting mess, this is definitely the one. Definitely go for a size up from your normal one, as others have also commented. I'm normally a size Large and the XL is a perfect fit. It's really well constructed, nice stitching and detail, thick but soft canvas type material, good square shoulders and nicely tailored fit without being tight, inner waist cord to tighten up the middle. Zipped away hood in the collar is a useless bit of green nylon, but then most are so no suprises there. It's rugged enough to wear in winter with layers underneath and light enough to wear in summer with just a shirt/Tshirt. Perfect, well pleased, good price too.
