Arrived on time and well packaged. This garment is well made and looks the part. Could be used as a shirt (a-la-Buffalo) except that the fleece lining does not extend down the arms, so the feeling of warmth and utter comfort is not as great as it could be and i would recommend a long sleeved t-shirt be used as a base layer. The other criticism is that, whilst a side zipper is fitted to ease pulling the smock over ones upper torso, it is a single (one way) zipper and could so easily have been double (two way) to help as an aid to ventilation - adding a matching similar (ventilation) zipper on the other side would add greater value still. No doubt, these mods would add to cost, but that would be worth paying a little extra for what is an otherwise brilliant, light weight, wind proof, packable (relatively low bulk!) outer smock that is relatively inexpensive and has a wide selection of colours to choose from.I have not yet had a chance to evaluate it in medium/ heavy rain to experience how rain repellent it actually is and weather it would still be warm when damp or wet (like the much more expensive Buffalo).Great at this price point in my opinion. 7/10 and four stars - only because of the lack of attention to what was required to make this garment brilliant value.

The old adage, you get what you pay for is never truer than with this jacket! There are many imitations on this site and beyond but please don't even entertain them! This jacket is just awesome in so many ways!Of late the reliably cold Scottish weather has supplied me with an ample testing ground for the jacket.I get my bus at 5am for my early shift at which time the temperature has been hovering about 3 degrees Celsius. I haven't felt it at all! The main body of the jacket is fleece lined, as is the hood, so warmth is trapped and sealed in. I had noticed on another review that someone expressed disappointment that the sleeves weren't also fleece lined. To be honest,I don't think they need to be as they are slightly padded thus keeping your arms warm also.If this jacket can keep me warm in the unforgiving Scottish autumnal weather then those in the more tropical climes of England & Wales should be OK. ;-)The jacket has two side pockets which are of generous enough size for your phone, wallet etc. As if that wasn't enough there is also the main cavern like pocket on the front which I used one day to store a packet of sweets, hat, gloves, keys and a bottle of juice!Hands down this is the best jacket for the money I have purchased in a long while!

This gets 5 stars primarily due to the price vs what you get. For £ 38.00 ish you get a fashionable water resistant (ish, not tried it in serious rain) fleece lined smock jacket. In addition to all this it can pretty easily double as a reasonably decent ski jacket - put a couple of thin fleece layers underneath & you're sorted - elastic draw cord closure around the waist, hood (non-removable) with draw cord adjustments, velcro tighteners at the cuffs, tags on all the zips to pull while wearing gloves, big pocket across the front for 'stuff'. My only criticisms - pull tags on zips could be longer ( easily sorted), the flaps over the pocket zips should be bigger, they catch in the zips too easily & the velcro closures on the sleeves to adjust cuff closers should be longer to get a tighter fit if wanted. Well boo-hoo, it's not perfect. You can pay £ 300 and buy a technical ski jacket with the same faults as this has, it's just made out of some space age fabric with a patented name, hence the price!Seriously, if you like the look of this jacket then buy it, you won't be disappointed, even if you're planning on getting it snowy!

I’m 6 foot 6 and weigh 15 stone. Size 12 shoes and 38inch waste 44inch chest. I normally wear XL Tshirts, jumpers and coats. I ordered XXL and wore tshirts all weekend. The length could be slightly longer to go over your bum a bit and the sleeves could be an inch longer. Now the good stuff. All weekend people asked me to carry their phone or keys in the kangaroo chest pouch which was brilliant. I should have carried sandwiches. The two hand pockets are big enough to carry a fat wallet and some keys.I was carrying torches and stuff for camping and they were big enough. The inside is lined and all you need is a tshirt in UK autumn climate.I got so warm I just wore the tshirts from time to time.In the evenings I was still warm due to the excellent heat retention characteristics of this smock / jumper or whatever it is.The hood wasn’t needed but was the deciding factor in buying this garment and am sure I will use it if I get caught in the rain.Overall I would have given this 5 stars had it been a tad longer in the arms. But I’m very happy with it and am sure will get a lot of use out of it.

I absolutely love this jacket. I like the whole anorak vibe. No front zipper makes it warm. I am 6 foot plus and about 260 pounds. The sizes do run small. I had purchased a 3 X but it was too small when it arrived so I gave it a relative. I ordered the 5X because I knew I would be wearing it in winter over a heavy fleece. By itself, I have worn it outside to about the mid 20 degrees F range comfortably. The fleece lining really adds a lot to the useability of this jacket. Wearing a heavy fleece, I have been outside in the 5 degree F range. You would need more head gear at these temperatures though. The attached hood is just not warm enough by itself under 20-25 degrees F. This jacket is warm, and windproof. I have not had any issues with water or snow intrusion yet. I do not know if rain/snow resistance will maintain as the material gets a few seasons on it. You would have go a long way top find a warmer, more comfortable jacket that can be layered to be comfortable at near zero degrees F or by itself still be comfortable to wear at 50 degrees F. I love this jacket!!

Grateful to the hard-working folks who make this fine Anorak jacket. Last year I acquired a Men's MEDIUM, color Anthracite, for a tighter sporting fit - I'm 5 ft 8in tall 180 lbs. It feels great and looks sharp.Recently I purchased another Brandit Windbreaker in Multi-Camo, which Epic Militaria calls "Tactical Camo" and with this one I intentionally wanted a XX-LARGE. Quick Shipping as the package made it here in only eleven days from Wales to northern Michigan, U.S.With the new much larger Anorak jacket I can comfortably wear polypro undershirt and a thick Norwegian turtle-neck sweater whilst wearing 2nd Line LBE kit. This new jacket hangs just below my behind, much baggier for warmth and ease of movement in winter.Although the XX-LARGE Sleeves were too long for me and hung below my hands it only took a few minutes with Sailing Needle and thread to sew on more Velcro which took care of the problem.Outstanding product. Thanks kindly! I'll recommend to my friends and neighbors. "Salvation is of the LORD" (Jonah 2:9c, KJV).

I really cannot say enough about how much I like this jacket. I am about 6' 1' and 270 lbs. The 5X fits great over a base layer, moderate shirt PLUS heavy weight fleece for really cold weather. The jacket by itself is good to about 30 degrees F. With base layer shirt and heavy fleece, I have been out and comfortable at around 5 degrees F. 20-25 mph winds are no problem either. I have been outside in a pretty driving rain and have no water infiltration issues yet. For more confidence in a driving rain, I will probably add a spray coating for technical materials. The side zipper allows for much easier donning/doffing even with the heavy weight fleece underneath.A technical material lining would probably make donning much easier. However, the fleece lining is one of the reasons I wanted to try this jacket. By itself, it is a good 2-3 season jacket. With the heavy fleece single digit temps is not a problem. I do wish it were a bit longer though. I like a jacket that is a bit longer, but have not noticed any wind draft issues.

I have looked for an Anorak for years, as I prefer them to a mountain parka, with no success. Ever since Ranger training I have preferred cloths that were a little baggy so I read the reviews and ordered one size up. If you are ordering this for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, or cross country skiing you should definitely order up one size and maybe even two if you plan to have many layers. One size up for me allowed my Patagonia Retro X fleece and I am loving it. I did not check for water resistance and preemptively sprayed half a can of water repellant on the jacket. I was in a hurry to get the Anorak and am prime member so I went ahead and bought it for five dollars more.If it had not fit I would have been able to return for free. I have purchased items from the less expensive listed before and would have had to return it to UK if it had not fit and it would have been at my expense. If your style is that of a Hipster, I would say you could order your normal size.

Two minor complaints from me:One is that the cuffs could have been designed better where elasticated cuffs could have used instead of velcro fasteners but that is subjective I suppose. The other complaint is that I couldn't close the two hand/side pockets without the zip getting caught on the fabric zip covers. A few times they got stuck and was annoying trying to free them. Once you've got them caught once, they are so easily caught again.Apart from that, it's a very good windbreaker and very warm too. I bought it as a quick thrown on dog walking jacket and I'm still enjoying it a few months later - I even went out socialising in it a few time and was smart enough to fit in. It's so warm,I have only worn a t-shirt underneath it on sub-zero freezing cold nights. The thing I love about these style jackets is the large pocket on the front - perfect for a mobile phone and some poo bags ;)

This really is better than I ever expected. It fits like it should too. I wear large on top garments and this jacket was perfectly sized. A base layer, polo shirt plus an army jumper fit comfortably underneath and it makes for a well balanced layering system. Water beads and runs right off as good as my goretex jacket so the waterproofing is top notch too although after washing maybe not? I always reproof after cleaning so not a problem anyways. The side access zip for me was unneccesary as can fit on & off no issues with it done up. I bought this camo version for hiking, fishing & camping and it's plenty warm enough for that, too hot at times but thats the beauty of a layering system.I've since bought a similar blue version of the same make for winter sailing I'm that happy with it. Not the cheapest but you really do get what you pay for.

This is the second Brandit windbreaker that I have bought. They are excellent quality and value and incredibly warm. Both times I bought a larger size than I needed with a view to layering clothing but to be honest it s only rarely, in the coldest of weather, that I have found this necessary - the fleece is incredibly warm. Some while ago I inadvertently purchased a cheaper 'look alike' but the quality of the fleece and fabric was by no means as good and also there was no side zipper (present in the Brandit), which can be very useful at times.I love these jackets. The fleece, the zip-up neck, the velcro wrist fasteners, the large pouch pocket, the side pockets with the flap so that straw does not get in,and the smooth fabric that is straw-repellent. And the price - I wait until the colours I like are on offer :) :)Don't hesitate to buy.

Not sure what all the fuss about ordering a size up is about. I typically wear a large so I ordered an XL and it was definitely an XL. A little roomy on me but I can manage. Another point I want to bring up is the weight of this thing-- the fleece is really warm and definitely not "lightweight" as some reviews have stated. I purchased this to have something to wear year-round for riding my bike in the rain and it's definitely a winter windbreaker. With that said, I LOVE this thing. It's incredibly well made and I love the side zip detail. It seems to repel water perfectly and I like the way it zips up to your chin, so you actually stay dry and warm. Great product.

I have the M65 in the same pattern which I love and have been waiting since December for anyone to get the size L of this windbreaker in stock. Well worth the wait and does exactly what you want: brilliant product as always from Brandit. The pattern is slightly brighter than that of the M65 but I’d attribute that to the different materials. Slightly less loose at chest than you might expect or at least than I thought so might be worth going a size up if you are planning on heavier items underneath or like it baggy.I’d personally like it to be an 1 or 1.5 inches longer as I have a long torso but it is adjustable at the bottom so that makes up for it.

Quality product. Shipping was odd... according to Amazon, this product is still in shipping. I received it about two weeks ago, though. This guy was the standout purchase on a recent camping trip. There was a windstorm that night, and my new tent was a catastrophic failure. I woke up to 1/4 inch of dirt in my tent. This hoodie though, did everything it was supposed to do. Blocked the wind and kept me warm. I can’t say anything about its water resistance, but if it follows suit with everything else, so far, I’m sure it will be just great. I’ll likely buy a second one just to keep in my car, for emergencies and whatnot

Generally happy. Bought as not too outdoorsy alternative to my mountain gear when walking in the country with family or popping down to the pub on a chilly evening. It is a basic jacket - but doesn't look really cheap either. It is a semi matt nylon shell with a bonded standard 100 weight fleece -polartec it is not - but for this price and end use that's more than adequate. As others have pointed out the Velcro tabs on the sleeves are not necessarily too short but just seem to be in the wrong position to get a good seal on the cuffs when you need it. If you know someone with a sewing machine it could be easily fixed.
