I'm 175cm tall and about 85kg Chest size 42-44 ish with a bit extra around the midriff - just enough to tip me into the "overweight" categoryI live on the cusp between Large and Medium UK sizes so I'd usually go L for shirts and such like. After reading other reviews suggesting this jacket runs a little oversized I chanced it with a Medium and I'm very happy with the fit. With the liner fitted it fits me perfectly around the chest and across the shoulders, if very slightly snug about the 'middle age spread'. Enough to encourage me to lose weight but not so much that I couldn't wear it over a woolly jumper - not that I see much need for that happening; the liner itself is toasty warm so I can see myself most likely just layering it over just a thin sweater during the coldest months.I expect to be leaving the liner in the wardrobe most of the time - it really is super toasty.Without the liner the Medium size really is a perfect fit with plenty of room for layering in the typical British climate. I consider the liner a backup.I'm sure size L would've looked like a tent on me. Notably the sleeves, even on the medium, might seem a little long to some but this is by design. There's a triangle of fabric tucked up inside the sleeve that un-velcros to cover the back of the hand; in fact with a little ingenuity it connects to the adjuster tab on the cuff to completely enclose the hand - nice to have if you're caught out with no gloves. Tucked back in and fixed with velcro, the sleeves cover my wrists nicely when I reach up so it's a perfect fit really. Unless you're at the larger end of your size category I'd recommend considering a size down, particularly if you have a more athletic physique than I.The jacket itself is lined with black fabric and is quite weighty compared to a similar camouflage jacket I was issued in the RAF. Too heavy perhaps for summer use; Brandit do a cheaper version with a thinner removable liner which I'm guessing is a lighter alternative. however I don't have that to compare. The jacket deserves 5 stars really were it not for the daft foldaway hood. It's made from the same thin black material as the garment's inner lining. It doesn't feel the least bit water resistant and is too insubstantial to keep your head warm. A cosy detachable hood would've been better - forget about it and get a hat; the jacket's great!

07-11-20 Arrived literally the next day. It took me a while to decide what size to get as other customers had said to get a size down this always worries but on this occasion they were right. I’m usually an XL and plunged for a large. I’m 6’3” and weigh 17 stone and have a slight beer gut. My chest size is 46”. If you’ve got a big beer gut it’s advisable to go XL. The coat is quite heavy with the liner in, the overall quality is very good and I’m very pleased with it. The coat fits perfectly without the liner and unless you’re thinking of visiting the polar regions you’ll be fine without. It is slightly tight around the waist with the liner in but not uncomfortable just very slightly snug.Without it, it’s fine. Length wise is goes to about the top of the thigh just how it should. The arm length is long but they usually are with M65 style jackets. They do fold up onto Velcro fastenings. So it’s not really a problem. Overall it seems like a very good well made jacket. It’ll keep you dry in a light shower but if it bins it down you’ll get soaked. If it’s cold it’ll certainly keep you warm! And on top of that it looks pretty cool. Overall I’m very pleased with it, but please be aware of the sizing. Go for it!

Right here goes. I’m 6ft3 about 17 stone and I bought the 3xl camo jacket. It fits perfectly. Slightly big so you can wear a hoodie or some type of winter top easily. It feels very heavy and snug on. The collar strap is a good inclusion. The arms were perfect for me. Just to my knuckles when fully open. These can be strapped up if you want then shortened by an inch or 2. The lining is zipped in and a fleece type of material inside whereas you get a padded quilted back with long arms. These are also buttoned in at the cuff of the inner jacket. It’s very cozy. In the summer you can remove this if you wish. The only downsize for me was the 4 pockets.I wanted them oversized but although I can get my hand in them it’s a tight fit and I wanted to have a few shells in each side but I amOnly griping a bit here. The jacket looks great and feels great on too. I was out shooting with it today and no movement issues or jacket been too tight across the back or arms. Quite like the name tags stitched in front too. I would never buy a 3xl in anything else but as I’m normally a 2xl jacket I went one up and was very happy I did. Looking forward to hunting in this jacket with these cold days coming in.

Over all good. If I was buying this again I'd have gone for an XL rather than an XXL. In a way its two jackets in one because you can wear the liner as a separate jacket. I always take the liners out because I was always taught that layers are better particularly in UK weather. The cuffs would have been better if they'd been secured by buttons instead of Velcro. The epaulets would also have been better secured by buttons as the poppers unsnap when you put a bag over your shoulder or slip into your backpack. The breast pockets are big with more than enough room to hold torches, knives, lighters, mobile phones and such. The hip pockets are smaller but still ok.The silly name tags are easily removable with a sharp knife.Unfortunately the chevrons on the sleave aren't sewn on and need to be covered with a badge or something.

Very pleased with the jacket. So pleased I would buy it again. I’m a 42” chest and having reviewed the feedback from previous purchasers I opted for the medium. Wearing a t-shirt or shirt this jacket fits comfortably even with the liner in place. I could fit a thin jumper underneath too but don’t think I will need to given how warm the jacket is. I am 5’ 11” tall and the jacket length is good for me (as is the sleeve length). I’ve only had the it a few days so I can’t comment on longevity yet but the construction is good, the fasteners snap closed with a positive click and the zips all function smoothly. The liner is well secured too. The jacket is machine washable for convenience which is a bonus. If you want a stylish (military style) jacket in a choice of sizes and colours then this is one to seriously consider.

Firstly, this is a quality jacket. However, in my opinion ignore the advice to order a size smaller than usual. I’m a medium normally and I ordered a medium. With the winter inner lining jacket, it’s a nice, snug fit, but not big enough to wear a lot of layers underneath - not that you’ll need them. Without the inner jacket, it’s a roomy but good fit. Perfect for Autumn. Fully loaded with the inner jacket, it’s easily warm enough for Winter but you won’t be wearing a heavy jumper under it because for me, that would be too snug. I’m usually a 41” chest and medium size is perfect. What I will say is that the quality and look is superb in every respect. If you’re looking for a good M65 jacket, look no further. I’m really pleased with my purchase. It also looks very cool and stylish in black.

Nice field coat. It's basically the Vietnam era 1965 US Army style (M65) field coat-oft referred as jacket, but it falls well below the waist. It features a warm, removable long-sleeved liner, which is suitable for winter. It's thick enough to keep you warm on the coldest of days even without layering up. Remove the liner to have a light weight coat in early Spring and late Fall. The coat fastens with a zipper and snaps and features multiple pockets, waist and bottom drawstrings and a concealed hood in the collar. The hood isn't going to do much from a practical use. The only caveat is the zipper is left handed design which is bothersome to zip up. It's a good hunting coat because of the pockets.Like any purchase think about how you want to use it before buying.

I decided to risk a purchase as I liked the style and wanted a warm winter jacket. I'm 6' 0" with 46 ish chest and the large size fits me fine. That is at least one size smaller than I would normally order.Other features I like and dislike... I was surprised to see that the zip starts quite high up: about belt height rather than right at the bottom of the jacket. It turns out this makes it very convenient when sitting down. Just pop the bottom two press studs. The outidepockets have plenty of room. I can carry a buff, beanie and gloves and still have one pocket spare for wallet etc. No inside pocket in the zip out lining unfortunately.I'm not keen on the sergeant stripes on the sleeve but willsoon cover them with a patch.

Have just received this Dark camo 2xl jacket on 1st look excellent a great replica on a good army surplus jacket colour is really nice and dark lots of nice touch's Velcro bits on the cuffs for adjustments and one on the collar nice chunky zip good strong press studs as well . The zip in warm liner is really nice( size xl in a 2xl jacket ) I usually wear 2xl and this fits perfectly with a bit of wriggle room I put it on over a couple of layers and it was still very comfortable having had old surplus jackets before this is much better quality and still looks authentic am really pleased with it, also the guy's who dispatched and delivered did a really quick delivery thanks to all at military1st.

Had some issues re: sizing...bought and sent back two! I'm 6ft 1...weigh 17 stone, 4XL was massive! 2XL was slightly too big and I prefer a roomy feel!! As i normally have to go 2XL, I'd suggest getting size smaller than usual. The jacket is heavy, of good quality and looks great; the liner is very substantial...and very cosy. I haven't tried the XL size yet, but have no hesitation recommending the supplier who were very prompt with deliveries. However, a word of caution...if you're ordering via the Amazon App MAKE SURE YOU READ THE RETURNS POLICY BEFORE BUYING!! I had a bit of bother sending back one of the jackets even though both were bought under the EXACT same conditions!!

if your are a large order an xl and so on , i received the jacket double quick and was delighted with it until I realized my error . I got the wrong size for me . never mind i thought ill return it get my money back and get another one . cash being a bit tight (a bit like the jacket) i have to wait until I get a refund to do so. shock horror it cot £37 to return it , so far I have splashed out over £100 and still not had my refund yet. despite everything I'm still optimistic and keeping my fingers crossed making it very difficult to type . more than two weeks have passed now . we will see how long it takes . I may have to amend my initial review

Love Love this jacket! Got it bigger than regular size, but wanted it on the looser side. Glad I did...perfect fit! The color is awesome and just the way I wanted it, like worn military green. It is more brighter and greener in the picture. It looks more spot on if you go to their website. Looks amazing on and it's so soft. Love the option of making it a spring jacket by taking the liner out....which you can also wear separately! Like 3 jackets in 1. Bought another one of these Brandit jackets for someone else too and it is also totally amazing. Love this brand and will so be back to buy more of their items....they've got quite an assortment!

I fell in love from first glance. I tried a cheaper jacket first but would not be satisfied! I am 5ft10 and under 11 stone, I bought a medium and this fits with plenty of room!! I love it. It looks great and is warm and comfortable. It is a little bit of a dog hair magnet and could do with an internal chest pocket, but they are my only missing wishes. I can't believe I am saying this, but, I am actually looking forward to some cold weather to be able to wear it with the inside fleece! I know! But I really do love it that much! It is roomy, so if you like room in your clothes buy true to size...if you like fitted, I would go a size down!!

The jacket was as expected and I am very pleased with it. As a guy at 6 foot 4, I didn’t need the word M65Giant on my chest, so the taped branding, on both sides was removed. It seems very prominent on the new garment. Perhaps a wash or two would tone it down. A quality product, but in some areas, the ‘ageing’, which is part of the appeal of the garment, gives me concerns for the future, especially the ‘jacket centre front’. The suppliers, Transatlantic Trading Company were excellent. Delivery was swift and well tracked. If the jacket was lost I would buy the item again as I do not have the time to source ‘genuine vintage’.

Ordered the jacket using 1st Military on Amazon, as reviews mentioned they had good service. It arrived next day and it is a better than expected! Well made and feels like a quality coat. I particularly like the chunky removable winter lining, durable zippers. The color is slightly paler than expected (woodland camo). I have a 37” chest (5’11”) and originally thought about the size M but after reading the many reviews on Amazon decided that an S would be better. Good job I did as the sizing is larger than expected and the S fits larger than a regular store bought coat. Recommend the jacket but beware of sizing !
