So this is my 3rd Dickies jacket in this style. I am used to the fit, and knew what to expect when ordering, so there were no surprises here. This is the insulated version, so it is a little warmer than the cheaper non insulated version. Do yourself a favor and choose this one over the non insulated version. The non insulated jacket is no warmer than a thin flannel shirt. This one actually holds in some heat. This is by no means a heavy jacket, however. Im a skinny guy, so I get cold in the 60s and 70s. This jacket provides enough warmth for me down to the 40s. But in the 60s, if I'm working/moving around, it actually gets a bit hot.So, yes it is a "light" jacket, but not so light that it wont do any good in the 40s and 50s. Also it's not too heavy (in my opinion) for temperatures in the 60s.The lining is like a polyester type, very smooth and feels good on the arms. I prefer this to cotton or wool type linings. This is only preference, but just thought you should know, in case you prefer the more cotton type lining. So the fitment is probably what you are most curious about. This style of jacket is short and meant to be more fitted than other jackets. The sleeves come to your wrist (with average arm length). The bottom of the jacket stops at the waist, maybe slightly above depending on your torso length. If you're wearing the correct size jacket, when you move, this jacket may feel "too small" for you. Meaning the sleeves will come above your wrists when stretching your arms, or the bottom will rise above your waist line. You will feel it slightly constricting shoulder movement. If this is what you want, then order the correct size. If you prefer a little more breathing/movement room, then order the next size UP.Just for reference, I'm 5'11" 145 pounds, fairly skinny. I wear a small in most jackets, small-medium t-shirts, small work shirts/uniform shirts. But I don't like baggy shirts and jackets. So a small in this Dickies jacket is perfect for me. If you are about the size of me, and prefer more fitted shirts and jackets, then the small should be good for you. If you like them more baggy, then go with the medium. This theory should work across the spectrum in all the sizes. If you like fitted coats, then get the size you would normally get. If you like them more loose and baggy, then get the next size up.All in all this is a great buy on a very durable jacket. I work on cars for a living so this jacket gets daily use and abuse throughout the fall and winter. Even with all the abuse, I still get a few years out of these jackets. That's not to say they are worn out after a few years, they just get so stained and faded, it's time to get a new one. But at this price point, you could get a couple at a time, and wear them forever.Oh an one more thing. If you're looking at other work jackets on Amazon, you may notice many of them say the proportions are all screwed up...Like oversized arms or torso areas. Weird proportions that make you like Popeye or something. The Dickies jacket IS NOT like that. If you get the correct size, you will not look weird like you may with other brand jackets.

Okay. Lots of exaggerations in the reviews posted here.....or a bunch of weird abnormal arm and torso length folks? It's a service type jacket. So it's gonna be short in length. This is the style. The sleeves are longer than usual compared to the length of the jacket. Not dramatically so....but a tad.I'm 5'10" 165lbs. Thinner but not mr. Salty. I got the large size. In pre washed condition....the sleeves hang with my arms down to the topside of the middle of my hands. Arms outstretched the sleeves pull back above my wrists. So not all that bad compared to every other large size jacket I've owned. The sleeves are baggy a bit but not dramatically so.I could fit a hoodie or fleece jacket underneath without being tight or weird. The length is about 1.5 to 2 inches below my belt line. So it's short by design. ...but not abnormal. It is lined but it is very thin and light. I wouldn't expect it to keep me warm in below 50 degree weather by itself. The material is stiff...Also by design for this type of jacket. I expect it will soften up after awhile but not a couple of machine washings.Fit and finish is not bad for the 30+ buck price range. Overall if I had trusted the bulk of the reviewers here...I wouldn't have bought it. Glad I was willing to risk my 30+ bucks. Way too many massive exaggerations and way too many who didn't understand the type of jacket that it is.So if you like a service or work type shorter jacket and want one lighter but with some lining...This one is pretty darn good for the cost. I should mention look at the pics of the jacket on the guy. If you are normal shaped like him and like the way it looks on him and don't have abnormal gorilla arms lengths and freaky torso lengths etc.....you should be happy with it.

I am 6'3" and 175 pounds. I purchased this jacket in medium tall. I own another Eisenhower (and have owned several in my lifetime), it is the non lined version, in size medium. I found the medium tall lined version fit similarly in length, sitting just below my belt line. The arms of the MT version where noticeably longer, as I wanted. Now, when I stretch my arms out the sleeves do not raise up above my wrists, which I hated on my medium version. The sleeve opening on the MT lined version where much larger in diameter. When wearing a sweater underneath, this was not an issue, but when wearing only a t shirt I found the larger sleeve opening to look silly. I can simply move the button over to solve this issue. The jacket is warmer than expected and repels stains, light rain, and other moisture. Be warned, the jacket is waist length, so wearing anything longer than the jacket can throw off your style. I typically wear the jacket open to avoid this fashion blunder. It looks better worn open, in my opinion. If you are wearing this jacket for work then you may not care about how it looks. Wearing it closed will obviously keep you warmer and better protected from grease and other nasty items in that category. The zipper does get stuck easily as mentioned by others, it's a characteristic of this jacket as every Eisenhower I have ever owned had a weird zipper. The jacket will be stiff and first and may feel a bit tight in the shoulders, this loosens up with wear and becomes much more comfortable. Overall, this jacket is made well, fits well, and is prices very reasonably. I would even call it a bargain, especially since these jackets last forever.

Some pieces of clothing never go out of style. A good pair of Levi’s…Chuck Taylors…there’s a short list of things that will always look good no matter what year it is. Add the Eisenhower jacket to that list. This jacket is classic with a couple of groups, from punk rockers to the everyday worker.Right out of the box, the jacket is stiffer than Peter North. You’re going to want to wear this thing for a few hours to break it in unless you want to throw it in the washing machine right off the bat. I was worried that it might be a little big on me, based on the sizing chart on Dickies’ site. Luckily, it fits perfectly! I’m 5’11” 155lbs, 40 inch chest, 30.5 inch waist and went with a Medium if that helps anyone.Wearing it zipped or unzipped, the jacket is comfortable and looks good. I love the inside pocket, big enough to hold most phones or your wallet. You can even adjust the waist a little bit with an additional set of buttons on the waistband they provided. The quilted lining i a nice touch. It’s not too thick but makes it a little more comfy on the inside. This jacket would be ideal for cool or windy days, but isn’t going to help out much if you have cold winters. It’s just a good lightweight jacket to have around.I went with black, but I think the dark navy and charcoal look really good too. You can’t go wrong with this jacket. If you work at one of those picky places that won’t let you wear a sweater or jacket unless it’s plain or one color, this would be a great option.

This is a fantastic jacket!! I am super happy with it. It fits me perfectly (I am 6'4" and 210 lbs). The sleeves are nice and long (and hit the middle of the back of my hand when my arms are relaxed at my side), and the length is perfect (it hits the top of my butt, and is lower than my belt, again when standing relaxed). The lining is nice but is not too thick. It'll be perfect for riding in the summer in the north-west. It's warm enough now (January. but granted it's around 40 degrees. If it was closer to freezing you'd probably want to throw a hoodie under it), and will still be perfect for cool nights this summer.Granted, I'm not living in Vegas anymore, where any jacket is too hot in the summer. But up here, it'll be perfect. As some people have said, it's a little stiff when you first get it but, pffft, that's the least of my worries. It'll soften over time, or you can wash it a few times. It's a tough jacket, looks great, the dark color will hide grease pretty well, and I couldn't be happier.

This jacket is well constructed, wind & water resistant, sizing is good around trunk of body. Where the fit is not as good is in the sleeves - this is me more than the jacket, my biceps are very large around. When i an standing with my arms at my sides, all is good, even though the sleeves are too long for me, and the cuff does not allow tightening, too hold them at the wrist. However when i raise my arms in front of me, the arm hole cut restricts my movement a bit. Yhis causes a un comfortable/binding sensation. The shell has a very tight weave, and appears to be very durable. The insulated/quilted lining is light in weight, yet quite warm. Last weekend I spent 3 hours in 40 degree weather, and stayed very comfortable. I think this jacket will prove to be very flexible in its use.Watch color choice, as prices can vary a fair amount. The dark navy in my size (xtra big to allow a hoodie under it) was very inexpensive. Price vs quality made this a real steal.Highly recommended

This jacket fits a taller person quite well. I am 6'3 barefoot and about 270 lbs, so not a smaller person by any means. I ordered the XLL jacket, and it fits perfectly. A bit of room at the shoulders and elbow, and I can stretch my arms out or bend bend them at the elbows without the cuff going over my wrist. Coldish winter this year in CA, and more often than not I don't need a hoodie or sweater, but the fit is loose enough to accommodate one without looking like a tall marshmallow.Has two hand pockets outside (could be a tad bit deeper but eh... nitpicky on my end), a left arm pencil or air gauge pocket and an inside pocket on the left. A snap would be nice but again, nothing that would prevent me from buying this jacket again down the road. This is the Eisenhower so do be aware that the cut fits to just below the waistline. It isn't a long jacket, and it isn't heavy but a good work jacket for a shop, or casual around town wear.I do think it looks snappy too :)

An instant classic when you put this jacket on for the first time. I felt like I have had this jacket for years as it looks good for casual wear, work wear, or doing chores around the house. I am 5ft 11 with a 30 waist 40 chest 16.5 neck and 34 length arm dress shirt and the medium fits me fine. I can add layers or a hoodie or just wear a t-shirt and the sizing works for both.Pros:Size is true to fitVersatile stylingPerfect for layering with other clothesInside pocket fits most cell phones (unless your cell phone is the size of a tablet)clean simple designEasy material to add patches or personalize garmentAffordable and not painted with huge company logos all over the jacket front andbackConsSlight amount of break in time with the new fabric when you get itHad to trim away strings on some of the stitchingI wish the exterior shoulder pocket was a bit bigger but it works for a pen or tire gauge

When you work with grade schoolers, you need a jacket that can withstand nearly anything. One that can handle the biting, scratching, crying, kicking, nose picking, spitting, food tossing, and other hazards that come with the job. The Dickies Men's Lined Eisenhower Jacket does the job of protecting educators, and makes sure they come home safely to their loving families. Sure there are other jackets on the market, but none will survive years of abuse from other people's "little angels". While other educators will be tossing or washing their jackets because little Tommy "tossed the salad" on them, You will be well protected and "Shake It Off" like a pro. No need to toss the jacket, just shake it off,and go about your day . This jacket cleans off really fast, so stains are a thing of the past. I like this jacket, and so do the kids. Just don't tell them the brand or they will start giggling for some reason.

I am actually to the point where my whole wardrobe is made by "dickies". Pants, shirts and shoes. If they just made socks and a belt, I'd probably be all dickie. That don't sound right. But anyway. I love this jacket. I am 5' 11" and have freakishly long arms. Nothing sits right and I always have a hard time finding shirts and jackets that will not pull up to my elbows when I stretch my arms out. I ordered the XL tall version of this jacket and it fits great. The night I got it we had a windy night here in Boring and I went outside to see how it held up. From the neck down to my waist... comfortable. The rest, a bit chilled. The zipper is actually made of metal, not some cheap plastic like the columbia I had before.Pocket on the left arm shoulder and an inside left pocket holds my XM radio+. If I had the money I would have already purchased another.

As always, a great jacket for the price. This Eisenhower, like the previous ones I have had, is a great work jacket. It is warm enough for the damp, chilly spring and fall weather I use it in. It looks good, with a fit that can best be described as "classic". It is relatively trim fitting, but not tight, and yet can be worn with or without a sweatshirt and doesn't look baggy or outsized. This makes it a very professional looking jacket when embroidered with the company logo...The cotton/ poly twill this is made of is much lighter weight than duck canvas, but seems to wear better, while being very resistant to fading and stains. I regularly get this jacket covered in dirt, soot, tree sap,and various oils, and have yet to stain it permanently (I do take care to use the appropriate type of cleaners for the stains / filth in question, though).

This jacket is awesome! I really like it! I'm a woman, and I'm tall and thin. I'm 6'2" and weigh about 145 lbs. This jacket fits me perfectly. Not too small or too big. I often wear men's clothing in size medium, which is why I ordered this jacket in medium. This is my first eisenhower jacket, so I wasn't sure about what to expect. The insulation isn't too thick. It's a light jacket, in my opinion, meant to be worn on autumn or spring days. Unless you purchase it a size larger and layer with other clothing, I doubt it would suffice for winter wear in most places. I live in Austin, TX, so this jacket is appropriate for autumn, winter, and spring wear. There is just enough room in this jacket for me to layer it with a hoodie if I choose to. This jacket feels very sturdy, and I expect for it to last quite a while. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Having read all of the reviews for this jacket,I was a bit conflicted on what size to get it in because I dreaded possibly having to truck it back to the post office to return it.Postal service for packages in NYC is terrible,so I re-measured every inch of my body this jacket would cover to be certain & lo & behold I got it right! I love the cut & smooth lines. It is a fitted style so anyone with extra weight that hangs or protrudes should definitely order a size up than usual.Luckily,my "love handles" slope downward so I am able to wear this jacket zipped up.I am not tall so a large would have hung on me clownishly. My extra attention to detail worked in my favor & I look forward to purchasingthe matching pants.Amazon shipping is terrific & they cost less online than in stores.

Pricing on Amazon beat the hell out of my local department / grocery stores, and so did color selection.I ordered a Size Large with long sleeves because my old large with regular sleeves fits ridiculously short. The Large/Long I ordered fit ridiculously long, so I rolled up the cuffs and buttoned them to shorten the sleeve. Perhaps it'll shrink up a bit after it's first wash, but I'm not betting on it.Other than the fitment the jacket is what you'd expect, rain repellent, durable, cheap and goes with most anything. If you've never bought a Dickie's jacket before be warned they're not a cold weather option unless you're wearing something underneath ( a hoody, sweater, whatever). However they're perfect for the odd fall months where it's wise to layer.

I've had this jacket for over a year and I'm very pleased with it. It fits exactly as I expected it to, it looks good, and most importantly, it's comfortable. The jacket is machine washable and even after a year, it still looks new. It's got a good weight to it and while I wouldn't recommend it for freezing temperatures, it will keep you reasonably warm in the cold. My only criticism would be with the interior pocket. It doesn't have a button or velcro closure and if you lean forward, whatever you have in your pocket is probably going to fall out (even with the jacket zipped-up). In the future, Dickies should give the interior pocket a way to stay closed.Overall, this is a great jacket and I would recommend it.
