Professional seller. Great contact with client. Let me explain. I've ordered a Brandit Britannia jacket (the Summer version) before this one. And since I'm 1.80 mts and 85 kgs, I've decided to order the size "L". The size was right on spot. If you use it with a t-shirt or with a t-shirt and a light pullover it's, as said, right on spot. However in Winter time, if you need to wear it with a warmer pullover and a shirt or a fleece (first layer, for example) it can get a little tight on your arms, chest and belly. Don't forget that the Britannia on its Summer version is a jacket with no inner layer. It's only the outer cotton layer. And it works for the Summer weather, as it is suppose to since it's a Summer jacket. However, feeling the need of a warmer jacket for Winter I bought the Winter version of the same jacket (it's basically the Summer jacket with a furry lining, making it a tad "fatter"). Feeling that I had to use it in Winter with additional Winter pieces underneath, I've decide to buy the size above the previous one. So I ordered "XL". It was a good decision, since it arrived larger as the previous one, as I wanted, with comfortable fit for the Winter time, when I need a couple of more warm pieces over the torso. However the sleeves (on the previous one were ok) were way too long. So I had them corrected, and ended up to remove a good 4 cms on each arm. After that correction the piece is confortable to wear and it will be a nice add to the Summer one. Each to its own season :-)However, a few weeks later, I decide to buy the M65 Classic. Since the feedback for these pieces were not that accurate (some say they are for the large, others say they have a cut too fit) and considering that this particular piece has a inner removable layer (the inner layer of the Britannia Winter jacket is not removable) and since I would mostly wear it in Winter time with additional clothing underneath, I decided to buy the "XL" size. Well, this particular piece (at least the one I received) has a cut for the loose and bigger size. So, when I wore it in front of the mirror I simply couldn't see my hands. They would disappear entirely inside the sleeves. The sizes for these particular pieces are really that big. For, instead of exchanging it for a "L" size (my regular fit in almost everything) I took a leap of faith and ordered one size bellow. So I send the item back to England (It costed me 16 Euros by the Portuguese registered post mail) and requested its replacement (made a new order, that is) of the same piece on the size "M". And can you believe it? It was right on spot. The jacket dresses as suppose to be, and still with enough space underneath to wear a more warmer pullover or fleece. The sleeves length is also ok. Perfect fit from the box. So… my two cents about the matter. Hope you are happy with yours. Ah, one last thing: the guys (and girls) at Military First (the seller) refunded the full amount on my Visa card of the initial order. Just remember to keep the original box and all the paper work you received, to make things easier for returning the item and the refund. Best regards to you all from Madeira island.

I am pleasantly surprised with this jacket. I was very careful in ordering the correct size, most of the advice being to order one size below what you would normally. I usually get an XXXL, if buying from a shop, but have been unable to find anything I wanted this season. I measured my chest (expanded) and the distance between the armpits, as advised, on my old jacket, which fits well, and bought accordingly... an XXL. I am 6' 4" and 17 stone, solid build, so I sometimes have problems with jacket sizes. The main problem is usually across the shoulders, and the length of the sleeves. No problems here, a comfortable fit across the back and the sleeves are longer than I need (they are designed to fold back nicely),even with the easily-removable (via buttons) quilted lining. The length of the jacket is also good, reaching down to just beneath my buttocks. I was as warm as toast and the jacket actually looks pretty cool too. I removed the liner for now, as it is not that cold yet on the South coast, and it is easily big enough to wear a fleece underneath with no tightness in the fit when zipped up. It is light, yet sturdy, and feels good to wear. There is room to manoeuvre, and even without the lining it is warm. The zip and press stud buttons are of metal and seem pretty strongThere are four large-ish pockets on the front of the jacket, with flaps, and personally I would have preferred another couple, maybe diagonal for hand warming purposes, but that is a minor gripe. I also would have liked a zipped inside pocket, which this does not possess, for valuables, phone etc.The hood is stored in a zipped pouch in the collar, and is discreet, not bulky. The material seems to be strong and good quality, although I have not yet tested its rain-proof qualities. I am assuming it is not fully rainproof, but this material can be rainproofed from a spray can if need be.Overall, I am very satisfied so far with this field jacket, and the price is good too. Another star would have been gained with those extra pockets.

Had a very pleasant experience with customer service from transatlantic due to an issue stemming from the carrier. I had ordered this item on a thursday or friday and it had made it from England to Tennesee within the weekend. But unfortunately the package was stuck in Tennesee for about a week which prompted me to contact the carrier. They told me that after the package had cleared customs, they had found that the package was, all of a sudden, found to be empty and recommended i contact the seller so they can file a claim (sounds like someone made off with a free jacket).I took the recommendation, contacted the seller, and the correspondence between their support team and myself was very pleasant and completed in a very timely manner via e-mail.i requested to be sent a new jacket and they obliged only with the additional question of my preferred carrier. Next thing i know, the second shipment had made it from Kent, England to Denver, CO within a week. Now that i have the jacket, i can say its awesome and exceeded expectations. The thing is loaded with small features and details i didnt even realize it had when i ordered it. The secondary lining provides additional insulation for both the core and the sleeves which is fastened to the jacket via buttons. The sleeves themself can unfold and provide additional coverage down to my knuckles. Overall, this jacket should provide awesome warmth and protection for these Colorado winters with versatility to deviate. The fitment for a large feels perfect for me at 5'11", 185lbs. (Listen to the folks that recommend to order true to the size you normally wear)

There's a fair bit of choice about if you fancy an M-65 jacket and you only have to spend a few moments reading Amazon reviews to realise that sizing is an issue for some people. I'm a skinny six footer and I've now tried three different M-65s available on Amazon. Here are my findings:'Surplus' jacket is great quality but a very generous fit, especially in the arms which are really wide.'Mil-Tec' jacket is also very good quality. Lightweight compared to the others, but still very solid. I would say this is the best quality garmet of the three. Small size was a decent fit on the body, but the arms were too short. Medium would have been too big in the body.'Brandit' feels more like a fashion garment than the others, which both have a rugged army surplus feel. So a bit less authentic feeling, but the fit was much better for me. Small was nicely fitted with the waist cinched in and the arms were a sensible width.Which is best? Depends what you're after and your body type. All three are well made and very warm with the liner in. Skinny dudes are probably going to want to choose the Brandit. Meatier gents and folk who want the most authentic army flavour might want to look at the others.I returned the other two and kept the Brandit. Great jacket for the momey.

Just received it. Not yet worn in anger so can't comment on performance but first impressions of the materials, build quality and style is excellent; good sturdy brass zip, strong stitching and, although I've never seen a genuine m65 to compare it to, the material seems more than adequate considering it's a reproduction/fashion item..I'm expecting a few year's service from it.I can, however, comment on the sizing: I am a fairly average Large size male that takes a large in most clothes. Neck to waist 19.5", inside arm 20", chest 43", waist 34" with a slight gut. However, I decided to order a medium in this jacket. I'm glad I did. The sleeves are perfect with the tip of the hand protector just sitting on my top knuckles, the fit (with liner in) is just enough to allow for most casual movements and to feel comfortable but still give a fitted, figure complimenting appearance. The bottom seam just sits level with the bottom of the buttocks. If worn with liner there wouldn't be any room for a midlayer, just a t-shirt, but since I only wanted it as an Autumn/Spring jacket, it's perfect. It also gives me the option to remove the liner and use the outer as a shell over a hoody or on it's own. It's an awesome looking bit of kit and well worth the price.

Size ! That's the only issue buyers seem to have . I found reviews Uber helpful when ordering . I'm a 42 chest , 5'8 tall and just under 13 stone . I ordered a large which on me is about right to allow for a jumper when wearing in winter . The quilted inner liner is going to be great in cold weather but if you looking for a more fashion fit I agree with others here who say go a size smaller ! So for a more fitted look I would need a Medium without liner. Sleeves are a good length so being a little tighter across the shoulders would not be an issue for someone looking for a more fashion fitted look , bear in mind the jacket is a copy of a military coat which is a multi function item which is why the size is generous .I would class myself as average build for height , a 32 waist jeans is my fitting . The jacket itself is a very high quality item for the money and would recommend it to anyone. So to sum up read reviews on fitting but for my build a large if you plan to use the jacket as intended but a medium if you not bothered about having the liner in and looking for a slimmer fit ?. This apart from colour is your only choice to consider as the quality, style and value for money are standard ! Hope this helps ?

A really nice jacket once you have cut all the loose threads off it. I'm not even kidding it took me 20+ mins to get rid of them all!!I also agree with others that this jacket runs larger than standard UK sizing, I usually take a Medium in coats and jackets. I opted to go for a size (Small) and I am glad I did as it fits like a medium and is perfect! The coat is really nice looking, it has a thermal lining that you can detach with buttons, nice looking pockets and storm flaps at the wrist. The only reason I am not giving this a 5* is for s few reasons:1) The sizing is off - (Go for a size smaller than you would normally take)2) the amount of loose threads I had to cut off was absolutely ridiculous!3)I forgot about the hood, the hood in my opinion is a pain. Once you get out and put it back, if you don't put it back properly you end up with a hump on your back. Took me 5 mins adjusting the hood to get it right. My opinion don't bother getting the hood out. Use an umbrella! All in all I would say for the money this is a good jacket, but would I go out to buy again I probably would not.I used to have an Alpha Industries M65 Jacket in Small and when I compare them both this looses hands down.

I love it. I have the black one which looks understated. The outside pockets are generous without being a silly size, for instance the breast pockets easily take a smart phone or a compact camera.I bought the XL size. I am 6 ft 2 in and over 15 stone with a 44 inch chest and the fit is very good. The shoulders are pleated to give freedom of movement and I found that the jacket loosened up around the shoulders after I had worn it a couple of times.Pros :The press stud are a nice update from the army issue buttons that I remember. The fabric is really soft and moves easily and silently with you.The padded, removable liner is very warm.I would recommend wearing the jacket and liner over a fleece gilet in cold weather. At the price this jacket is a bargain.Cons :The zip is a quality metal one but is one way only and I find it a bit fiddly to connect. There are no interior pockets or (true to the original) hand warmer pockets. The jacket is shower proof but I doubt that it will it will prove to be any more than that. But then the fabric is a soft cotton and not a body plastic or greasy waxed material.

Quality appears excellent. The material is heavy grade of the weight you will get from a good quality wax jacket, but is actually like my army-issued kit in the 1970’s- and that includes the zips. I can’t imagine they will ever wear out! Manufacture (standard of sewing on the seems) looks first class. The hood is stored in a deep zipped pocket in the back so does not need to be rolled before storing up- it lays flat inside. The collar stands up nicely (well made and as stated the material is naturally stiff on account of the weight and high grade). The liner buttons in well, and is a perfect fit and it it sleeved, so is very warm (I seem to remember my army issued one was sleeveless, this is better).I have a 44inch chest, and ordered the Large size. The size chart says this size comes up a little over 50 inch in the chest. I measured my jacket out of the package at 48inches. This means I can wear a fleece AND keep the liner buttoned in and still feels comfortable. However, if I was another inch in the chest I would order the XL size.Final point, I don’t think this can be beaten on value for money.

OK first thing first company is great to deal with including delivery... Size... I'm 6'3'' 48 inch chest I bought a xxxl and that fits excellently the waist draw cord making the fit/look even better, with the liner in there is still space for a sweater or jumper.. So they do come up on the small side. The arms are long but that is the design, the original was the same the. Now the jacket itself. As it is without comparing to original. the jacket colour is just great, the overall quality is good, the material is not the best choice too hi content of polyester, makes the feel a bit plastic like, think the original was more 50/50.The liner is spot on too. However if I was looking to buy this jacket as is yep I would recommend...If ya looking for a more genuine m65 I'd def go elsewhere, it's knowhere near as good. Hope this helps....All things considered Glad I bought :)

Firstly about sizing. I measured my chest, 48 inches, looked on the sizing guide and ordered a XXL. I would normally buy a 3XL.The 2XL fits perfectly wearing a sweatshirt with the liner out and is a bit snug with it in but is acceptable. The sleeves are slightly too long but I've probably got little arms. The coat itself is well made with none of the previously mentioned loose threads etc. The liner is easy to remove which you'll probably have to do as it's very warm in the so far encountered autumn weather.Delivery was next day and delivered tracked by Royal Mail. One star off for the stupid cuffs. I know it's a copy of a military coat but the folding velcro pointy bit is redundant in this guise,in fact I'm considering having it removed. So all in I love this coat, it fits well, is really warm and I think it looks great.

There is a lot of talk in the reviews of this coat about sizes, mostly saying buy a size too small and it will fit fine. I decided to get the size I would have expected to fit me which is XL but it only just fitted and was tight across the shoulders. I sent it back which cost me nearly £10 and they sent me an XXL which fits perfectly. The moral of the story is that it's hit and miss, though the company sent the replacement coat very quickly and they paid for that postage which I thought was very good. The coat is heavy but very warm and is serving me well in these cold days. My only criticism is that the pockets are a bit small and there are none inside presumably due to the removable liner.Overall its a good buy.

A little looser than I expected, but I absolutely love this jacket. It has 4 pockets. It has a strap on each shoulder to secure a backpack. It has a velcro strap to bind the collar.it has a thread inside to tighten the waist. It has detachable insulation inside, which makes it a great practical winter jacket, as well as a hood that can be tucked into the collar of the jacket discretely in the event of impromptu rain.It has a front zip + outer buttons to conceal the zip.Build quality is great, no fraying threads, however one of the internal buttons that secure the detachable insulation is loose, but this does not bother me.Overall, this is an excellent imitation M65 for the price.

I have a multi-pocket field vest for birding, but it offers no warmth on winter days, Problem solved with this field jacket. The side pockets are a bit shallower than I'd prefer, and the front pockets a bit deeper than I like. The liner adds considerably to the bulk and the warmth, but even without the liner (attached by inside buttons) it's quite satisfactory for cooler days. I'm about 5'5'' and the jacket size that usually works best for me is 37". This jacket is almost (but not) too tight around the chest when zipped up, but the length would look better on a taller person. The sleeves can be folded up considerably, and for my shorter arms that's a good thing.

following peoples advice i bought a XXL as i am usually a borderline XXXLand the coat is no bigger than one you would get from matalan or anywhere its as tight as any XXL....now ive got the hassle of returning and waiting due to a misleading size guide :(the XXL i ordered was nowhere near the stated 29.5" armpit to armpit which i based my choice on it was under 27" on the back of the coat laid flat before the inner lining is even taken into consideration!!!!! the same size as my XL henri lloyd coatnice coat but impossible to buy accurately as even if you follow the advert you still get it wrong through no fault of your own
