I pre-ordered the PS4 Street Fighter Collection & Mega Drive collection, from Amazon, to arrive on the day of release - on the morning of delivery, got an email from Amazon saying that they regret, my order for SFC had been delayed and gave a date of 18-24th of June! No explanation, no nothing, though I’m guessing it’s an under order of stock issue - MDC arrived on time.Anyway I thought sod that, cancelled the order, caught the bus into town after work and went to the old fashioned shop for the game - I had been itching to play it all B.Hol weekend and wasn’t waiting any longer! What to say about the collection? Well for a start it’s superb! I fell out with more modern SF titles because, like so much these days, they are just a DLC cash grab, but nothing of the kind here - put the disk in and no agro, the games are all on screen to select, like… well… a video game you have just got home from the shop should be! All the titles are arcade perfect with pretty much every version of classic street fighter to date.Personally I would have given the original Street Fighter a miss - the game is a bit of a mess and no one will bother with it after a quick bash around to see what it’s like, unless of course they are trophy hunters - I’d have started with SF2 World Warrior and snuck Alpha 2 Gold in its place - I’m a little disappointed that’s not included, as the game was considerably different from standard Alpha 2, but hey-ho I can still play that on PS2.A word of warning, if you are using a standard PS4 controller, you will want to remap the buttons as the default setting uses the back L2 button, which doesn’t feel natural (at least to me) and I found myself dropping inputs quite a bit because of this - even now it doesn’t feel great, what I wouldn’t give to use an old PS1 or SNES controller! Never mind, I may invest in an arcade stick at a later date - I guess these new-fangled controllers just aren’t designed for old school beat-emup’s.I’ve had a knock around online, but I can see already that once I’ve achieved the ranking to get the trophy (damn online play, trophy requirements) I won’t be bothering with this feature much - I would say, after playing many matches over 3 days, I’ve had about 40% which were extremely laggy, to the point of unplayable. This isn’t really a problem to me, the single player campaign is where I find most enjoyment in the SF games - 2 player mode was always best with mates in the same room - there’s no replicating that feeling of all scrunching on the sofa squinting at the portable TV, with childhood friends, now long disappeared into the ether.All-in-All highly recommend to any 90’s gamer looking for a trip down memory lane.

Before I begin the review, I just want to say that growing up as a kid in the 80’s and 90’s was so awesome and part of that reason is this classic fighting game, Street Fighter 2. I can still remember the day me and my cousin went in to the arcades amusements shop (in Dalston) and saw a whole group of youngsters gathering around this arcade game and the rest is history!!!Yeah I know I sound like an old man explaining all this, but that just goes to show that I could talk forever about this arcade classic. So what can I say that hasn’t already been said about this brilliant compilation? For a start I’m so happy that they included the first street fighter game from 1987 as this was a game I never experienced on arcade but as some would say it’s just an ok game, nothing ground-breaking but for curiosity alone. Now, onto my favourite trilogy of the Street Fighter 2 series, World Warrior, Champion Edition and Hyper Fighting (Turbo) I absolutely love these games, these 3 games I never get tired of playing and each time I play them, I enjoy them even more. These were the games I cherished so much on my Super Nintendo console back in the day, the nostalgia alone gets me fired up. In all honesty, I cannot pick a best of the three as all three are legendary.I also have fond memories of the Alpha trilogy, these games have much better animation, graphics and fight mechanics than the previous trilogy but if I were to pick one of this series, hands down it would be Alpha 3. An excellent series overall.I’ll be honest, I am not as familiar with the Street Fighter 3 series, except for New Generation. This is most likely because by this stage, arcade shops were getting closed down and I just don’t remember 2nd Impact or 3rd Strike but since this compilation includes them and having now played all three, I would say that 3rd Strike is one of my favourites now.So overall, I am very happy that Capcom released this compilation of my childhood favourite fighting game, much like I was very happy with the recently released Devil May Cry HD PS4 collection.Hopefully we will one day receive the following games as a compilation:Street Fighter The VS Series (XMEN Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Marvel Vs. SNK, Marvel Superheroes Vs. Street Fighter)Mortal Kombat Compilation (This would be EPIC!!)Tekken Compilation (Also just as EPIC!!)We can always dream!!! Bottom Line, if you love Street Fighter, buy this game right now!!

I bought this as a digital download (hence no 'verified purchase') and played from midnight into the early hours, reliving the games of yesteryear. And was it worth the loss of sleep? Yes, indeed. There isn't a lot you can say about the collection from the usual reviewing standpoint; these games are so well known they speak for themselves. Suffice it to say, this is a brilliant collection. After the anorexic initial release of Street Fighter 5, this is a clinically obese product. There are so many games here, you can't fault it for content. Add in the online play, the museum and other features you have enough here to keep you occupied for years. The settings to filter the graphics are spot-on,as are the versions of the games themselves. It is difficult to find much to be negative about but in the name of Science, I'll give it a go. If there are any problems with the games in the collection, it lies with those games themselves, but not their ports. For instance, the original Street Fighter has not aged well. Street Fighter 2's AI can cheat like a pro, final boss Gill on SF3 is overpowered etc. But none of these faults is different from how the games originally played and overall the collection is a hell of a lot better than the 15th Anniversary Collection. If I was being picky, I would just bemoan the fact that the fantastic Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the set isn't the even more fantastic home version of the game, with its extra modes of play - perhaps Capcom could have offered more gameplay customisation options, such as removing Gill's unnecessary Resurrection move! This is a set of games that is easily worth your cash. If you can't find something worth playing here, well, you never will. Even if you suck at the online (like me, unfortunately) the single player has more than enough to keep you interested. Get this.

This collection is truly wonderful.Whether you are wanting to relive your childhood or wanting to see how this series has progressed your guaranteed fun with some of the most well regarded fighters....even today. All of the games included are awesome arcade conversions. Playing exactly how they should with a crisp look on modern TVs. The sound is a bit off in handheld mode unfortunately, but otherwise these are the games that you remember from the arcade. The ability to switch difficulties, rounds, timers in all games as well as other things act like dip switches which is a nice touch.Online works well for the most part. I had one or two lagging matches but tge rest were very smooth. Also the arcade set up of having others watch you and playing the winner is a very nice touch. The museum gives you access to alot of information on individual titles, music, art and even the overview of a game as well as ow to unlock extra characters and even modes to just add the icing on this celebratory cake.If your a street fighter fan then buy this. If you like fighting games buy this. If you want to experience the past buy this. Theirs alot of effort here and i was surprised at how much extra you get.Basically its history in a cartridge for a great price. Its not a perfect but with only chip damage it might as well be.

This is probably the best collection series ever offered by Capcom and it truly pays its respect to the SF1,2,3 and Alpha series. No bloatware DLC, just the games in pure form ready to play. Super fast loading and each game has options for arcade bezel/widescreen/screen filters so you can tweak it slightly visually to preference. Very nice little touches like museum content too (some amazing artwork...didnt know final fight was originally destined to be street fighter 89 either till saw concept art in there), but one of the best things is taking these oldskool battles online (SF2: Hyper Fighting, SSF2: Turbo, SF Alpha 3 and SF3: Third Strike). Gotta say, think me hands are getting old as default difficulty level seems higher then i remember..but for some these, its been a fair while! Time to dust of the arcade stick, throw some 20ps in the air and get some hours back in. Bit disappointed that SF2 HD Remix didn't make the cut as deserved to be here/massively disappointed amazonuk have screwed us on the free SF4 dl as other preorder retailers honoured it. (whoever made that call needs a shoryuken or two). Wont score the product down for this....shes a beut, but last time i preorder with amazon

I played Street Fighter II Turbo when I was 12 on the SNES, played Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the PSone when I should have been revising for my GCSE's and bought all 3 versions of Street Fighter III for the Sega Dreamcast when I got a job. I grew up on Street Fighter. This collection of all the 2D Street Fighters is an absolute joy to own. The price is worth it for Street Fighter III 3rd Strike alone. All the games, apart from the original Street Fighter, still hold up today and they're all arcade perfect. The versions of Street Fighter II on offer in this collection make the old SNES port I used to play look pretty bad.I did have some concerns about buying this for the Nintendo Switch as I was worried the controllers wouldn't be up to scratch. They're not amazing but a lot better than expected. I'm a Ken player and haven't had too much trouble pulling of his specials although, the supers can be a bit tricky, I probably just need more practice.I picked this version over the PS4 one as I couldn't resist the idea of playing it portable on split joy cons. No regrets here. If your a fan of the series just buy it already!

I am willing to concede that over time my reactions are not as good as they were when I was a teenager, when I first played these, but getting some negatives out of the way firstly. There are options but I find that due to the games being Arcade versions, the options are more limited, an example being that for the Street Fighter alpha series on PlayStation there were x3 kick and punch buttons which could be configured, in this they are missing from what I can see.Due to the Arcade versions I find that the games feel a lot harder than I remember, I am getting owned on easy at times, where I could in the past do moderately well on a medium setting, I don't think I'm THAT crap at it :DBesides all my gripes and frustrations however,I DID play Street Fighter 3 for the first time, and yes I got owned, but it was great to finally play that. There are a lot of games here to enjoy, I have only played the offline stuff, if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription there are online options , if you like these games it is alright BUT just be aware that they feel a bit harder and clunkier than the console version

I bought this way way way after release so i have no clue what the pre-order deal of USFIV is all about, nor do i really care and i hope we'll actually get a second physical collection that includes it, and maybe with some HD Arcade ports of the Street Fighter EX games too, eh Capcom? maybe put a little bit of love into that series maybe? hmm? whatever, this collection is pretty good but i'm saddened by the fact that we'll probably never have another port of Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, which is by far my favorite Street Fighter overall and has the most replay value out of all of them, this collection however was a good way for me to play several Street Fighter games i've never even played, each game even had a lot of detail put into them like if you hover over a game and press triangle you'll get that game's backstory, and sometimes even "cheat codes" which was super nostalgic, and i love pointless trivia so that's two thumbs up from me, highly recommended!

I was very fortunate to get a copy of this game 4 days before the release date (from another retailer). In addition, I also received the digital copy of ULTRA STREET FIGHTER 4 (yaaaaaay!).As you would expect, SF30AC is a celebration of street fighter in all it's years from the original up to SF3 third strike (My favorite in the entire series). In nutshell, I will dissect it in the following:a.)Graphics: Extremely Pix-elated on a HD TV but still good (nostalgic fun).b.)Bonus: All the music tracks used in the various games are playable in the museum section. There are also artworks thrown in for good measure but if you have majority of the SF art-books,then this bonus will be irrelevant.Criticism; some of the games ported over are as tough as nails! especially street fighter, street fighter 2, turbo and new challengers. The AI is quite unforgiving.Overall, if you are a fan of the franchise then this is surely a must have!

If you love Street Fighter buy this now. I didnt preorder so wasn’t expecting SF4. This game for me is 5 stars! These games have aged so well its unbelievable, can sink so many hours in even today, get a few mates round and settle some old scoresOptionsScreen sizeOriginal, full screen or wide.FiltersTV, ARCADE or offBorder DesignOn or Black barsAlso you can save the game offline in the middle of an arcade mode and pick up later which I likeJust in response to some complaints online..Online is laggy - has been smooth for me, of course you will have some laggy matches, which game doesn’t!The games too hard - GOOD!! That’s how I want it,like the Arcades from back in the dayThe controls aren’t responsive - I can hit a shoryuken 10 out of 10 times on my hold beaten up PS4 pad. Bad workmen blames his tools

I bought the PS4 version SF compilation elsewhere for a good price.I had to have my say after reading some of the negative reviews. You get 12 arcade version SF games from the 90s. Forget SF1 it's from the 80s actually and not very good, so 11 left. The rest thought are absolutely amazing. It would take you more than 10 years to master all these games. I used to play SF2 the world warrior and Turbo on my SNES back in the day. These games aren't pick up and play. You have to practice, then you will get your reward.I am so happy with this collection of games or more like this piece of gaming history. The very best fighting games ever.

8.6.2019

First of all, great value for money, the collection includes 12 games spanning the Street Fighter 1,2, 3, & Alpha series (among the 12 games included are 5 variations of SF2).I'm not particularly good at fighting games but really enjoyed this collection. I hadn't played SF3 nor SF Alpha before so it was really fun to experience those games for the first time -- in my opinion, they stood the test of time better than the SF2 series. If you're a fan of Street Fighter and/or want to experience some nostalgic 90's fighting games, you'll definitely get a kick out of this collection (round 1, FIGHT!).

11.1.2020

This is a generous collection of games. I should warn you that these are the arcade versions, not console ones. So they're designed to take people's money. As such the difficulty in single player is often ludicrous. The AI is usually very cheap and not subject to the same rules as the player. It reads your button inputs, countering immediately. It's often invincible to moves and it's moves hit in fewer frames and at greater distances. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is almost unplayable it's so difficult. At this stage online play isn't really an option as nobody is online to play with.

7.9.2018

buy this for majority of the games, with the exception of the first street fighter this is a great collection of highlights from the franchise. some better than others, but some are flawless and have aged like a fine wine.Just I can't mention enough at how painfully bad street fighter 1 is, the controls are awful, same with the music and the dreadful character voices will have you in pieces. it is completely pointless on this collection as i guarantee once you get the trophy for beating it you will never want to play it again.4.5/5.0

9.8.2018

For somebody who grew up with a Super Nintendo this was a perfect nostalgia purchase. This has every edition of Street Fighter ever released and although I am sure everybody will have their favourite version but it is great to see how the franchise developed. There are a number of versions of each game to keep you interested and the difficulty level is still here. I purchased on the Switch so this is the perfect medium to be playing a 2D game and at the price point I can have no complaints.
