Bought these to cut the ends of some large bolts off a piece of garden furniture so people wouldn't hurt themselves. The cutters cut through them easily and I think I may have gone overkill on the size of the cutters I bought! A smaller set would have done the job. They would be great for padlocks and steel wire and I've even used them to trim a handful of tent pegs at the same time.If you have low upper body strength then perhaps go for a smaller size, because they are quite heavy, top-heavy and bulky, but I think an average person could handle these ok if they take their time.As I am keeping these in a garage I make sure to put a thin layer of oil on them to prevent rust during colder

These are big. Very big. Almost a 2 person job to use them. Excellent for all your cutting needs.
