I went for Stanley as a household name in tools, because I know they are built to last. This item certainly seems to live up to reputation. It's not exceedingly heavy, but it has a quality feel to the build. They provide sufficient pressure and are easy to work with and adjust to the correct level. This is a tool that you can pick up cheaply from a Chinese manufacturer, or can spend a little more on for a piece of long-lasting equipment. This springs and moving parts feel solid as a rock, and the pads don't slip much compared to others I have used. The release lever works flawlessly, and it's very easy to tighten using the hand-screw on the back. The reach is quite wide,
