I bought this to replace one of my super tough Dutch made boxes which served me splendidly for over 25 years until my wife tripped over it and fell onto the lid when it was open. Thought about buying a professional level box, but this was a fraction of the cost, seemed about the right size, had a nice grove in the lid for sawing stuff and who knows I might find a reason for needing something waterproof.I’m semi-pleased.It isn’t sturdy enough to stand on. I tried, but afterwards it wouldn’t shut properly until I pushed the front back. Has fixed the shutting problem but I won’t stand on it again. Shame - the extra few inches would be handy. My old box supported my 90kg with no complaint. To be fair it does state 30kg (to support or to carry?) on the label. 30Kg support is not enough to sit on the box.The clips need quite a lot of force to close the box (yes, even before I stood on it). Worth putting up with if you really need a waterproof box, but I would rather forgo that for ease of use.The tray doesn’t fill the whole box, but I really don’t mind that. I like being able to drop things in without removing the tray.It is a lot less expensive than a professional box.So not ideal, but OK and good value for money.

I bought a couple of these toolboxes because my workshop is very damp, good tools often go rusty in normal toolboxes and they have done the trick.Obviously I lightly oil my hand tools before putting them away and previously I regularly had problems with surface rust forming on chisels and planes but now when I keep these tools in a these waterproof tool boxes I don't have the problem of rust.Edit> With 50Km per hour winds and rain outside I got to browsing through some old reviews and thought this one was worth updating.I've had steel tools stored in this in a damp unheated garage/shed for over 18 months and the problems of surface rust have been greatly reduced and virtually eliminated, exactly the reason I bought them. I should also mention that I use a little WD40 on the tools as well but experience tells me that WD40 doesn't give a lot of protection.

Convenient size, big enough to fit a decent amount in but not so big to be a real pain to carry about. Internal dimensions are approx. 55cm (L) x 25cm (W) x 20cm (H) not including the lid. The carrying capacity is stated as being 30Kg. I have it loaded up to the gunnels with tools and it copes no problem. I can also stand on the box with no problem. The catches are sturdy maybe a little stiff but do click down very positively. The tote tray is 3/4 length of the box and pretty shallow approx. 4cm (excluding handle) which may be a good thing depending on your requirement as it leaves more room in the main compartment. The tote tray does feel a bit on the flimsy side but is functional although I am not sure how much punishment it would take of throwing tools into it or generally throwing it about. Overall a good solid toolbox that I would recommend.

After owning a series of cheap metal toolboxes, I decided to get something more bombproof. This Stanley box is brilliant! You can see from my photo that it's been well used, and apart from losing its FatMax logo, it's doing fine. It's made of sturdy plastic with a waterproof seal around the edge. It also has the unexpected advantage that you can stand on it (I'm 80kg). It has tough galvanised steel clips with holes for padlocks. There's a v-shaped channel along the top where you can place wood for sawing. The handle is nicely rounded and comfortable to carry even when full. The exterior dimensions are 59cm long, 30cm wide and 27cm tall. There's a 36x21cm removable tray inside and the main interior box is 55x26cm by 20cm deep.

No complaints at all with this toolbox. Hefty, heavy and durable, I can see this outliving me. The included tiny trinket tray for the top of the toolbox (how's that for a tonguetwister?) is a nice bonus and good for loose screws and bits. The clasps are pretty hard to do / undo so I don't always bother fitting these - be aware if you struggle with clasps normally, as these are very difficult to manage with. I imagine these will loosen up with time, but something to be aware of going in.This comfortably fits my drill, charging block, a couple of hammers, a couple of alan key sets, pipe detector, screwdriver set and drill bits with plenty of room left. You could definitely fit a small saw or two in here as well.

This is a superb quality pro level tool box from Stanley. It feels very robust and has a good weight to it when empty. The plastic is good quality too and does not flex like cheaper toolboxes. The latches are made from metal which can be locked with padlocks for added security. The handle is quite chunky and feels firm.Included is a small tote tray which covers about 2/3 of the length. This means there is an opening to one side which allows quick access to tools in the main compartment if required. The waterproofing is not tested, but there is a good seal all around the underside of the lid. So hopefully there should not be any water ingress when stored in damp conditions. An impressive toolbox.Recommended.

I had been looking around for a couple months for a tool box I could store in the trunk of my car. I specifically wanted something built tough and I'm pleased to say that's exactly what I've got.The box is made from structural foam, which is very strong and also flexible. You can imagine a lot of plastic is quite brittle and if you dropped the box full of tools it would easy break. This box if dropped has a tiny amount of flex to it which absorbs the force, protecting itself and more importantly your tools. It was hard to visualise size from the picture so I would suggest you get out a tape measure. This box was ideal for me but they make them in different sizes to fit your needs.(All available on Amazon)

I've tried different toolboxes in the past and never really found one that met my needs until now, this one is big enough for things like a small hammer, some clamps, a small spirit level, hacksaws, chisels and the tote tray holds small screwdrivers and spanners. It fits neatly in the boot off my Fiat 500 with room for my drill in its box at the side. It is sturdy with substantial catches. The great thing about the box though is that it has a groove across the top which is really useful as an impromptu sawhorse and I've used it to cut copper pipes, plastic pipes, conduit, trunking and some joists. Brilliant.

Seems much more robust than the Stanley 24" Series 2000 that it is replacing for me. Just as well, as that one is breaking around one hinge. This one lacks the parts storage on top of the lid, but I'll gladly accept that in return for more strength and the waterproofing.I have numerous plastic toolboxes that are fine for storage but too wobbly to be put to hard work. It's refreshing to find one that looks like it will take some abuse and still last. At a low price too.

I had outgrown my previous 'Plumbing Box' and this seemed to be a suitable upgrade. It is well priced on Amazon. The clasps are firm unlike the previous one which if you caught it on your trouser leg, opened depositing the entire contents on the floor. The 'V-groove' cutting channel makes life a lot easier as well. I doubt that I'll test the handle fully but this box could become very heavy as it is a largish size. All in all pleased with my purchase.

Great toolbox in a size that can contain a large number of tools and other smaller toolboxes. I use these for storage in my garage which does suffer from a degree of damp. I have found them to be watertight and capable of keeping the contents dry.The locks are easy to use and it does have an insert tray. I have a few of these (along with other toolboxes) and will certainly be ordering more as I gradually organise my tools and car detailing stuff.

It is a very well made and sturdy tool box. I bought this to house my tool collection which is ever growing. It is spacious, but not too huge to transport in a normal car. It's best feature is that it has an air tight seal around the lid which keeps moisture off your tools. It could therefore be used to store outside your house if need be.Good strong snap links to secure the lid which are both able to be padlocked.

Brilliant!. I've had this type of tool box before, but they never last that long before they break. This one is very tough and robust, being of structural foam. Strong enough to stand on if required, and being waterproof, you can be assured that if your garage roof leaks, it won;t fill with water and rust your tools to death (previous experience speaking here). Large enough to take a fair old selection of tools.

Excellent piece of kit, highly recommended. Very roomy, lightweight and yet, robust. I have now bought two of these, one for the hand tools and one for the power. Roomy enough for the hammer drill, the cordless and all the odds and sods that go with them. Professional or D.I.Y., you cannot go wrong with one (or two) of these. No more hunting around in the shed for that screwdriver I know I put somewhere!!!

I did a bit of prior research on toolboxes, as it is a present for our so, so previous reviews led me to purchase this tool box.It arrived promptly from Amazon and was well packaged. On unpacking the tool box I am pleased to find that it is well made and will be fit for purpose. It is large enough to carry a large selection of tools, however, fully laden it could be a little heavy.
