As an instrumentation service engineer I need to work with a varied stock of tools. Getting the right bag is quite a chore and having different bags for different jobs is a nuisance. This bag is a compromise for me. I have easy access to my most common tools such as spanners, screwdrivers, cutters, multimeters, specialist items which is invaluable when you don't want to waste time and get fed up looking for things. The fact that the box swings out to give an even easier view is all the better.I agree with a previous comment that the tool holders are a little bit cramped. Some are too tight and unfortunately, too deep as well meaning that shorter screwdrivers get lost (there are not enough short wider compartments).I've also cut some of the tops of the compartments to allow me to get my tools in easier. The space at the bottom of the pouches is very useful for putting things like WD40 and spare parts - I can fit 2 x 1 Litre portable gas cylinders in the spanner side of the box. It also doubles as a Tote style carrier as the flaps roll up and can be fastened on the velcro strips - which is very easy if, like me, you may be moving around site a lot and don't want to keep fastening everything back up but do want the advantage of this flexibility.I haven't found the "perfect" tool box/carrier yet. They all have their problems. And I've been very dissappointed by many tool bags/boxes/carriers where the pockets don't even allow you to put a medium size screw driver in securely without it flopping around all over the place. Likewise many tote bags have not holders, partitions etc and the tools all slop around in a mess. This is the best so far and it's as tough as old boots - I've used it on waste incinerators, power stations, chemical factories and it's been well hammered over the last 3 years - but still cleans up well and is virtually unmarked due to the very heavy duty protection.Daryl WilsonInstrument Technician

This is much bigger than expected but I guess that is needed. Make sure you are aware just how big this is for transporting and storage. Some people use smaller bags for a weekend away. The bag is pretty new so cannot vouch for its longevity yet. The side zips look weak. Had they been YKK with big nylon teeth I would have felt more comfortable. I do not like small, fine toothed zips for heavy duty applications as they ineviably fail. I shall give them a good opportunity to prove their worth first. The bag certainly does allow you to identify and select tools easily enough without emptying it out. That is a big bonus. This is really why the bag is so large.I have not filled every holder yet as the bag is already heavy - Im not concerned about carrying the weight but am concerned whether the bag is robust enough to manage the load? Time shall tell. As always the measure of the product is whether I would buy again or even buy it as a gift. In this instance there is doubt.

Bought this to try and get more organised. I have tried most other open tool boxes & zipped bags from various manufacturers.I liked the look of this item as it appeared to have plenty of space & a variety of compartments. I also like the quality of Stanley products. The item arrived faster than I expected. First impression was good build quality (its not cheap, so anything less would be a disappointment). However I was initially disappointed when I started to swap the tools from my current bag (a Stanley open tote) to this one. For me, far too many of the compartments are the same size & fitting standard plumbers tools in was not possible.I got over the problem by cutting the elastic stitching on some of the pockets to allow a larger variety of items to be accommodated. Not ideal, but now it does what I wanted by storing tools in a way they can be seen.So overall, well made but not so well designed for my profession.

The inside has loads of positions for all sorts of tools so most will find a place. Some longer items need to be put in the shorter positions so you can get the sides zipped up.I bought this as my previous backpack toolcase failed due to the zips breaking. The design of this means there is no strain on the zips so they should be OK.For improvement it would be good if there were some outside or end pockets for odds and ends. I get round this with a plastic box and clip on lid as there is room at the bottom of each side. The case can get heavy when fully loaded. The sides also have storage loops however these are for small tools and it is possible they might fall out and get lost.Very solidly madeand with feet on the bottom so putting down on a damp floor is no problem.

Really impressed by the quality and sturdiness of this product.I have a very small home and needed a solution to store all my handtools in the same place, yet allowing easy access, something I had not with my old toolboxes. The Organiser has plenty of space and may different slots to hold all your handtools (believe me, I have plenty of them, or so my wife says), using less space, as is really tall, and I was not able to really fill it up. Even better, if I need to carry my tools around, the atteched handle and included strap makes it an easy task. When you leave it open, all the tools are easily accesible. When you have finished, it is only a matter of closing to zippers. The price is a bit high, but I am really happy with my investment.

I am an electrician and carry just about every hand tool that I could possibly think of.I have tried almost every shape and size of toolbox before reaching this one.Colleagues have tried the CK Technicians case but have said that the zips are not heavy duty enough. Definitely not the case here. This is built to last. The heavy duty hard wearing plastic base keeps the tool case dry if you happen to place the case on a wet surface. It is also strong enough to be launched into the van without much care. The compartments have pockets for screwdrivers and pliers. I have laid it out exactly how I want and know where everything is without looking now.It could do with a few larger pockets on the oneside but that is just personal preference.

Bought this on an offer just under £40, and thought it was expensive at that, however, it holds a lot of tools, clearly displayed and not jumbled up, and when deployed to the 'A' standing upright stance, it is very stable and provides a good 'work station'. I now wouldn't be without it and if I see another similar offer, will probably buy another! Very well made and strong, with substantial zips down both sides of each 'flap' with a strong velcro strip along the top, so if working in rain, you can just cover your tools quickly with just the velcro.

Had this for about 6 months, now the zip is starting to tear at the bottom. I'm an electrician so we carry heavy tools. If you're another trade you may get longer. However, it allowed me to organise my tools nicely and grab what I needed without having to search for them. I'd recommend this bag to electrical testers who don't need so many tools but require them to be organised. Six months is long enough for a tool bag to last. I endeavour my new Stanley (trolley) bag will only last 6 months too, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles!

This bag is great I use this bag for working as an electrician and it's great I can easily access all my tools quickly it's strong and sturdy. I used to use an open tote bag and finding the right tool was a nightmare but with this bag I just go straight to the right tool everytime. I would have given it five stars but there aren't enough big compartments for grips and side snips etc but if you put them in upside down you can use two smaller compartments so it's not too big a dealGreat work again fatmax

Really handy tool bag for small tools. It's not quite a full "technician's case" in that there aren't slots for everything, i.e. there are still a couple of big spaces inside where you can put large miscellaneous tools, but at the same time there are plenty of pouches and slots for small tools so that you can keep things organised. It's very useful as a general purpose tool organiser, and it's also well made, good and sturdy and a good size for lugging about the place.

As an electrician I have had many toolboxes, cases and god knows what else. I saw this bag and thought it looked good so ordered one. I'm impressed with it overall. My hand tools all fit in and tools are easy to locate now. the quality appears to be good to though I have only been using it for a few weeks. It genuinely is ideal for an electrician. As I was so please with the item I have also since bought my dad one. My colleague at work has also bought two.

This is a well made and spacious bag with plenty of room for tools like hammers, chisels and screwdrivers - all kept neatly in place with an extensive range of pockets. It will accommodate a tenon saw and small hacksaw, but it is not quite big enough for a full sized hacksaw. Tools are easily accessible thanks to the roll-down sides. All together a well designed and well made bag - but it is quite expensive.

I have had this in daily use for over 5 years and it's been very reliable and still is but bottom has started to fail but considering how much use it's had it's done well still useable but time for a change.great price and so much easier to work with everything available at a glance. I've now changed for same sort of design just needed a little more room for testing equipment.

Very easy to use,you could find tools in dark, holds lots, the elastics are not for holding screwdrivers and tool, but best used for sockets for a ratchet,I have a quarter and three eights tools plus extensions in bag with plenty of room. For a multiskilled engineer this is good,if you only do electrical or mechanical maybe you dont need the scope of this bag.

Lots of small pockets for all screwdrivers, grips and adjustables. Lots of large pockets for multimeter and electronic gauges! I can even fit in my gas analyser and all the probes.I'm now a one stop shop, rather than going back to the van for things every 2 minutes. It is heavy but the strap help to spread the weight.Very happy.
