It’s a 16 inch toolbox, on the outside. Its stylish shape means that it’s less than 16” on the inside. The “useful” little boxes in the lid mean that it’s even smaller inside. And the “useful” handled caddy even further reduces the internal dimensions.Could Stanley not have mentioned the internal dimensions? If I wanted a toolbox for a few spanners, screwdrivers, screws and nails it would be a useful box.My MacAllister multi-tool came in its own carry-case, with accessories. My MacAllister angle-grinder came in a cardboard box which soon fell apart. Why not in its own carry-case? It now lives in this Stanley tool-box, which is just about the right size (without the caddy). Now I need to get cases for all my Ryobi One+ tools and batteries (C’mon Ryobi, get your act together!).My JCB circular saw is naked and exposed, as is my Bosch power-sander.Does anyone know where I can get fitted power-tool cases? Please?!As to the box itself, it’s cheap and plastic. The clip is metal, but the hinges are not; why did they lie?The padlock loop is plastic and very thin; with a padlock in place I could twist and break it with no trouble at all.But why bother? It has a useful handle for the tealeaves to carry it away!

This was bought to replace a similar, but cheaper, non-branded toolbox after the plastic hinges broke. It works well and appears to be sturdily made. The top features two flip open compartments useful for storing drill bits, screws or nails. The main compartment features a lift out tray for storing frequently used tools. It lacks the large central ridge of my previous toolbox, allowing me to store a hammer in the top tray for the first time, which is most welcome. The hinges seem sturdy enough for the kind of use this gets from a domestic DIY novice like myself, though I'm sure heavy use would put them under far more stress. One final note, the top of the lid flip-out compartments is deeply ridged, which is a godsend for storing drill bits and screws while working. The ridges capture the screws so they don't roll off. If that was a design choice, it's inspired. If it was accidental, it's a marvellous piece of luck.

Its a good little toolbox for just having a small collection of tools of whatever trade or just for personal tinkering, which is my main basis for having this item. It fits a fair amount inside of it and has handy compartments on the top of the toolbox for screws etc. if there is too much in the bottom of the toolbox there is some noticeable overlap on the expansion of the toolbox when the lid is shut, other than that there isn't much issue with this if you need a lot of space for your tools then you should probably just get a bigger toolbox but if you only have a small number of tools that you need to put into it then this one should work great for you as it has for me.

This toolbox is good, it's pretty big for its size in that there is plenty of internal storage, with an insert tray and two compartments on the lid which are handy for screws and other small items. The latch is also good, we bought a long screwdriver which was about 1cm too long for the toolbox so managed to wedge it in, although because the toolbox is made of plastic it warped the shape of the box a bit so is now slightly slanted! However, the latch is good so this doesn't really matter because it keeps shut.Overall it's a good box, takes up relatively little space in the cupboard but has plenty of space to fit everything you need in it.

I was just looking for a basic toolbox to keep various tools from around the house organised and in the one place. This toolbox suits my needs nicely. If taken care of I am sure that it will last a long time. I'm not sure that it would take too much of a beating though, as the hinges that fasten the lid to the box at the back appear to be plastic. As long as I don't throw it around or put too much pressure on the lid when you open it, I'm sure it will be grand. The locking mechanism on the front is a lot more heavy duty. Great value for money at the end of the day. Recommended.

Picked this up for less than £8 to hold all my specialist bike mechanic tools. It's a solid feeling box with a decent metal clasp at the front that includes a loop for use with a padlock. The top compartments close well so they won't open by mistake when the lid is open, even with quite heavy things inside them.Inside the box is a large open compartment with a single tool tray that sits at the top of it. The tray sits low enough that you can still stash some pretty big screwdrivers etc in it.Certainly for the home DIYer this will probably last a long time. Recommended.

I'm an average Jo when it comes to DIY - doing what I need to around the house at times but never that seriously. As such, I have a grab-bag of tools that I need from time to time, and this storage box was perfect for that purpose. It has nifty compartments at the top for screws and nails, while inside it fits about 10 different tools (all fairly small except the hammer). I think for the occasional DIY person, it's ideal, though if you have a serious quantity of tools, you would either need several or a very big one. This size was perfect for me.

Oh Stanley, what would I do without you. You continue to make quality products at prices we can afford. This toolbox is a nice size, and it doesn't feel cheaply made at all. Admittedly, it's not the best built toolbox out there but for £10 I would not expect any more. I use this toolbox to keep all my bike tools in, and it is a perfect size, with a sturdy clip to keep it shut, and even has space to keep a padlock on it.I would recommend this product to those who are on a budget, but are still looking for high quality.

Just what I was after, a small, sturdy toolbox.A nice deep main compartment, for larger items such as hammers, medium-sized spirit levels, junior hacksaws etc. The tray can easily accommodate smaller items such as Stanley knives, wire cutters, pliers etc. The two small compartments built into the lid are perfect for packs of screws, rawl plugs, screwdriver bits and the like.Probably not big enough, or enough compartments for a professional tradesman, but just fine for the occasional DIY-er.

My Previous box of tools fell apart so i decided to buy this one. It is much more rhobust than my previous one and holds a good amount of tools as i only use it around the house I didnt need a larger one so this size was perfect for me, The boc has a metal fastener which is excellent quality and better than the ones you get on other boxes. The two top compartments are perfect for little screws or small parts like wall plugs etc. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to others.

It's a very functional box that's exceptionally priced and looks nice. It's pure plastic and doesn't look like it will be good for someone who uses it frequently to take with them on 'jobs' (in other words a tradesperson) but is perfect for me who just needed something to contain all my tools in one place together for all my small projects. The compartments on the top are brilliant for things like screws and are nice and deep. For under a tenner, it really is a great buy overall.

This is a really sturdy toolbox with good metallic catch and sturdy handle. The top pouches are great for holding small fittings like screws/nails/drills/..., though not waterproof if you need them to be. The case itself is a good size able to hold most tools and has a convenient shelf for ensuring you dont stack things three layers deep and can never find what you are looking for. Very happy with my purchase though I did quote a lot of research before picking this one.

Just what I needed. I am a busy district nurse and I have a lot of phlebotomy equipment to carry around to patients. The tool box makes it wonderful to carry it around professionally and it can store my blood bottles at the bottom, and blood forms. My needles and plasters can be stored in the little top compartments etc. So easy to grab outta my car and to the patient. I can see everything at a glance when I open it .... so I carry my 'tools' around in one box lol

I've accumulated a lot of tools over time and have never had a 'proper' toolbox, so this was a long overdue purchase. For the price it's excellent - perfect sie to fit everything I have, hammer and larger tools at the bottom, screwdrivers and such on the insert tray and handy small compartments on the top for screws, alan keys and other bits and bobs. The locking clip on the front feels very sturdy and secure. Well worth the price!

A tool box not to large and not to small but the best thing is it's got a great lock. A handy box for carrying in the car or for tools that are not to big . I bought this for my Son as he did not have one and i know he will make good use of it as he is a budding d.i.y. man. A great sturdy box . I might just buy one for my fishing gear as the box i have has opened itself on occasions. Great service great price .
