Not had an MP3 before and was a little wary about ordering the Sony Walkman after reading a number of negative comments concerning below average quality and performance. However, I have had many Sony products over the years which have always proved reliable and, as the average review score was more than adequate, I decided to go ahead. I have to say that I am glad that I did as I am delighted with the look and feel of this Walkman and the ease of use for a complete novice like myself. I took advantage of downloading the Sony help guide instructions and also the Sony Music Centre for PC and using both, together with the Walkman, I have immediately mastered downloading my CD collection,

I've had this a couple of weeks now I use it mainly at night and it's a very light, easy to operate MP3 player with clear sound an good volume range. Loading the tracks was simple with the Media Go software but I did have to download a file from Microsoft due to a missing DLL file.Very slim and light with the buttons easy to operate and they give positive feedback once pressed. Plenty of storage for music, I don't use this for photo's or videos but you can if you like.I'm very happy with mine which was purchase as a replacement for a very old MP3 player and I think this one will last just as long.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter who wanted to have a radio and device where she could listen to audio books. As I don't use much technology, I was a bit nervous it might be difficult, but the drag and drop software has been simple to use and we have been able to load up all the audio CDs we haven't been able to use since new cars stopped having CD players. We can also use the downloads from the local library so it's very good value, and we can plug it into the car and listen to all our talking books again. Brilliant.

This was bought for use in my new car as it has USB interface to the radio and I wanted to avoid a stack of CD's in the car. The "Mobile Go" programme is very easy to use and transferred CD's quickly onto the Walkman. Performance in the car is excellent. I've only used the earphones once-to check I had recorded correctly, so not able to comment on here performance. The Walkman now sits permanently in the car until I want to upload more Albums. I can control the music by the car interface, so do not use the Walkman controls.

This is a replacement MP3 for use when travelling. It's very compact size makes it ideal for popping in your pocket. The sound reproduction is great but if you want really decent quality, you need to pair it up with a decent set of Sony noise cancelling headphones if you're using it on a flight. Otherwise the standard earphones are perfectly sufficient. It's also one of the easiest MP3s for dragging and dropping or copy and pasting music onto from a PC. Couldn't be simpler. Overall, great product at a reasonable price.

Bad points first. Like other reviews I have read I did find the instructions hard to follow but after two or three days had mastered them all except how to delete existing songs i did not require. When setting up if you are outside it is difficult to see the screen. Would be very handy if there was the facilitiy to attach a cord for carrying.Now the good comment. After struggling to set it up and writing my own instructions as I went along I am now very pleased with what I bought. You just need a bit of patience.

This is my third Sony Walkman, My second one I am still using and the last was a Christmas present, which I use as a back-up (should my other one need charging)I use these specifically for audio books., as I am not into music. Would not be without them. I do find the manuals a bit difficult to understand as I am not overly computer literate (being 83-years old) and need things spelt out to me in non-computer jargon.But I love my Walkman products, my other being a Sony E-reader.Love my Sony Product

Build quality isn’t particularly good and Sony’s asking price is a little high considering their high End ‘high res’ products are only £50 more. However it functions very well and it’s battery life is very good. 8GB is more than enough storage when it’s solely being used for mp3’s Sound quality is good when using decent headphones and the bass levels are very good as well (default setting is bass boost) you can transfer MP3’s to it using a android phone using the correct data cable (not supplied

It's great & I finally got it to upload all my music from my iTunes library. The instruction leaflet was not overly helpful & it wasn't as user friendly at first as my iPod & iTunes stuff, but once I cracked it it was fine. All seems perfectly good. But it's not as loud as my iPod when I plug it into my minirig which is annoying because I play music outside in parks to train to or in street shows so the quieter music is a bit annoying. Still, it's cheaper than a new iPod & does exactly the same

I bought this as a replacement for the NWZ-E585 which i have had for many years. This new one is slightly lighter but the screen is smaller with less functions. It does have a base function and an equlizer function and a FM Radio. The sound is good even with the provided headphones. Settings are easy to use and the download of music is very easy, click and drag into the music file. I have given this 4 stars because the feel of it is not as good as the other Walkman I purchased many years ago.

I bought this specifically for when I go to the gym. Very easy to use and download music onto. My downloads were mostly from cds. I found it a bit more difficult transferring music already on the computer but ok when I got the hang of it. Most of the help us online. Minimal paperwork with item.Quality of sound is good and volume control also good. Have now used it in the card and very pleased with the result. It is nice and light, very near so easy to take with you anywhere. Great Value.

It works and does what I want - but why change the design to something not as good? The old Sony MP3 had slightly raised control buttons - these are completely flat. They probably thought it looked sleeker but I often use mine in bed in the dark and it's a bit of fiddle finding the right controls. I also find the sound volume very variable between the radio and downloaded podcasts or music. Having said that - it's a lot better than the really cheap ones around and good value for the money.

A suprisingly robust and easy to use mp3 player, that i was able to give as a gift. Its controls are simple to use and friendly for even the biggest techno-phobe. Sound is impressive with no issues with the data being listened to as previously purchased mp3's sometimes encounter static and slow down on songs as they buffer the information.The price is good and the size of battery life suitable for most journeys, with the quality of the device easily being able to commanded more in price.

I wanted a mp3 player to use while I was outside and this sony one seems to be ok. It fits inside my coat pocket easily and does not take up too much room. The controls are easy and the screen is easy to read. The only downside I found was the included headphones are very poor and dont fit into your ear so I ended up buying a better set of in ear headphones for an extra £5. This was not the cheapest mp3 player and the reviews where good about the battery life so thats why I went with it.

The price I paid during Black Friday deal seems fair enough.Actually I'm not really happy with this.it's not really convenient to download music to my laptop than copy it to the player. I feel my self from previous century.And battery life time is short. I could listen to music with it the same time as on my cell phoneIt has only one pros. it's lightweight and solid.I can use it when I'm exercising or do laundry. in both cases it's not really often and for a long time.
