This was a replacement, recommended by AGPTek support, for the A02S that I bought but struggled to make work for me.So the key elements for me were good playlist support (specifically .M3U playlists as they're textfiles, which makes modifications easy) and resume support (because I spend more time listening to podcasts than anything else.)So, up top and hopefully noticeable: although there's an on/off button on the bottom edge, you should switch off by long-pressing the play button as that sets a resume point before powering down. Simple, but undocumented!A few downsides:There's a bookmark feature. All it is is an offset from the start of a file. Not the specific file you were listening to when you created the bookmark, you can use it to go to that offset in any file at all. Not completely useless, but of fairly limited use -- at least to me.Once the player's been running for a bit, the screen goes blank to save some battery. So to use the long-press switch off noted above, you need to press the play button to wake the screen (this displays the time, unusually) then again to open the "now playing screen" then (this is optional but I prefer to do this) again to pause playback, and finally the long press which, after a second or two, displays "bye bye" and shuts the player down. That's a LOT of key presses to get through: fortunately, it can be all the same button.Setting volume can't be done by feel. Rather than external, dedicated buttons for volume, there's a button marked VOL that you have to be on the playing screen to use (see above for the required keypresses to get there if you're already listening) then lean on VOL until a volume bar appears on the screen, then use M to go up (louder) or VOL to go down (quieter.) It's a bit clunky.Maximum volume seems a little too quiet. It's not awful, but when I'm using this in the car (via the AUX input, not Bluetooth) the car stereo needs to be several points louder than my old, Rockboxed, Sansa Clip Zip (which this has replaced) needed to be properly audible. Finally for the negative points, and I don't really understand why this should be the case but I'm living with it and it's not the biggest deal for me: it doesn't support Ogg Vorbis. (Fre:ac is a decent, free Windows program that will cheerfully convert your .ogg files to MP3, should you have this problem.)So that's the bad stuff dealt with. The good points: bluetooth. It's a decent, reasonably usable implementation that, unlike some players at this end of the market, doesn't seem to require you to sacrifice some other useful feature while you're using it.Playlist support. Seems to be decent enough and, crucially for me, .M3U files are supported and work well.(Off at a tangent: I mentioned I listen to podcasts at least as much as music. So I have a load of podcasts on my PC and when I get close to the end of my podcasts playlist, I connect the player to my PC, delete the podcasts I've listened to -- both the files and their entries in the playlist -- select the next batch of podcasts, copy their filenames to the end of the playlist file and the files themselves to the podcast folder on the player, and I can carry on listening pretty much where I left off.)The expansion slot supports the addition of lots more storage. So I have 64Gb there plus the 16Gb on board: that's a lot of portable music to sit alongside all my podcasts. This is also a Good Thing.Battery life seems to be amazing. I've only had the player a few days and it's not really had a chance to have a clear run from fully charged to empty but I've used Bluetooth as well as wired connections and I've yet to see the battery indicator drop from a full charge.Database management seems reasonably quick. (This is the amount of time it takes for the player to be usable after new music has been copied on. Okay, it's much newer than my old Sansa but that could take 15 minutes to update its database and I've yet to see the A02ST take more than a minute or so.)There are some things that really don't need to be there: a photo viewer, a movie viewer, an e-text reader -- when all the reasons for buying MP3 players are evaporating because of smartphones, it makes more sense to make the MP3 player awesome and drop things that a 1.8" screen isn't going to be useful for, I'd have thought...So my overall view: features, facilities and capabilities are pretty good, with a couple of negatives with respect to supported audio formats, but I'm dropping a star because the UI is, while just about adequate, not well designed with respect to the user experience.

I was looking for an reasonably priced mp3 player for my son's 7th birthday and this one caught my eye. It arrived today and I wanted to try it out before I pack it away for his big day!!The player comes in cute cardboard packaging which looks and feels nice. In the box is the player, which looks well designed (I opted for the black one) and small enough for a child's hand. However, despite the small size I found it easy to operate. The box also contains the instruction book, the USB lead and some earbuds. I used the USB lead to connect the player to my laptop and there were no issues - the player must have been almost fully charged as within 30 mins it was finished. The instructions were useful as although many of the controls are fairly intuitive, there are so many functions on the player that it was useful to have guidance. It's really easy to drag and drop music to the player - it seems best to keep things in folders to stay organised. I also put a 2GB SD card in which I already had some music on. The player accessed both of these with no problem and had the correct information on the display when playing.Which brings me to the sound. I was surprised how decent the sound was even using the basic earbuds included. It was definitely a little lacking in bass but really clear and the volume has a decent range - it has a volume limit you can adjust yourself which will be useful when (if!) my son gets his hands on it! For the price, I'm definitely happy with the sound. However, I then tried it with some Sennheiser earbuds, and also used the Equalizer presets switched to rock (I was listening to Iron Maiden to test it) which improved the sound quite a bit. I then plugged in my faithful Skullcandy Crusher headphones and at this point was definitely impressed - the bass came through nicely at this point and I'd be happy listening to this combo on my commute! The player also connected easily to my wireless Marshall headphones and I'm going to give it a longer spin tomorrow with this. The instruction book lists the playtime as 40 hours using regular wired heaadphones and 10 hours with bluetooth connection, which seems reasonable. I'll update my review if this proves significantly different.Other features on the player include photos, videos, voice recorder, pedometer, calendar, alarm and stopwatch!!! I doubt many of these features will get used but it's certainly got a lot of them. There's a surprising amount of flexibility with the settings too, which is nice.Overall this is a great little music player for the price and I'd definitely recommend. The only problem is I'm tempted to keep it as a spare for myself, but I'm sure my son would have something to say about that...

Really nice piece of kit to use while running or exercising. It’s only about the size of a couple of packs of chewing gum but really packs a punch with superb sound quality, through the supplied headphones, and a range of excellent features.I use the FM radio when our running and the headphones act as the aerial but for listening to your own tracks, you can use wire-free Bluetooth headphones. I tried the ones I have and the connection was speedy and secure.I have some old CDs that I have saved as MP3s and I have used my A02 as a secure storage for them, rather than use my computer. I saved the tracks onto a Micro SD card which plugs straight into the side of this little beauty and keeps them safe.Perfect! The construction is pretty solid. The case is made from a nice rubberised plastic for good grip with sweaty hands and the buttons are firm and user friendly. All in all, a brilliant device which means I don’t have to take my phone running or to the gym anymore. Files are stored securely and the sound quality is perfect. What’s not to like! :o)February 2021 Update:Just can't believe this little piece of kit is still going strong. I've been through two sets of sports headphones but this little player hasn't missed a beat. It's been dropped, trodden on and soaked but is still performing as well as the day it was delivered. Highly recommended!

It's been a while since I've used an MP3 player, I usually rely on my mobile or laptop. But I wanted one for using in my campervan when away, which I plug in to a solar powerbank and which in turn powers a bluetooth speaker. I liked this particularly as it was available in Gold and came with an 8Gb capacity. I've uploaded about 250 songs and filled just over 1Gb, so plenty of capacity left.Quality of the plastic and the screen is acceptable, appropriate for the low price, but the sound quality through the headphones comes as a pleasant surprise. For something at this level I expected a much more basic sound, the headphones have a surprisingly dynamic range. OK, they aren't going to push my Senheisers, but then they wouldn't be expected to.Overall, this is a very capable player for the price.

I already have an mp3 player in this brand and although it's still working and I have had it for years, I decided to upgrade to this one which has a step counter on plus more memory. I have never had a problem with my older red one and and happy to see that this works just as well. Nice to see a coloured menu as my old one is in black and white. No problem at all putting mps on, just copy and paste in from pc or laptop. This player also has the ability to play bluetooth 4. Pleased with the update and the price. No matter what mobile phone I have had they are just not as good or the battery as long lasting to play music hour after hour without using hardly any battery and also I can still seethis screen in sun where I can't with my mobile.

Wow great little music player and so much more. With a battery life of 40 hours for music and only 2 hour fully charged. It’s got 16gb on board memory that you can load with pictures/music/video/recording/ebook and you can insert an extra micro sd card up to 128gbI love the fact that I can connect my Bluetooth ear buds to this nifty player and I won’t be draining my phone battery listening to music. The player itself is a nice neat size and weighs next to nothing. Excellent for jogging or running and a just a great price it’s a much better gadget to take on holiday rather than a more expensive ? player.I’m very happy with this nifty player and would most definitely recommend it

I had one of these that I bought maybe 10 years ago on Amazon, and used it at the gym daily for 6 or 7 years before it croaked. I've had a few MP3 players since then that I use at the gym (I don't like to have a $1000 smart phone in my pocket while I'm lifting weights) but the battery life has always been disappointing and I don't like to have to charge it every few days. The battery life on this thing is phenomenal, like 70 hours of playback or something. This means that even if I used it for 2 hours a day I'd only have to charge it once a month. Fantastic. The only thing I'd change is the shitty fonts that are hard to read, but that's what you get from Chinese manufacturers.

This is a great little MP3 player. I've had one of the older models for a few years now and it's never let me down, hence why I decided to buy the same again but a newer model. The battery life is incredible in these MP3's, I listen to music for several hours every day without fail and the device only needs to be charged for a short amount of time every few weeks. The sound is great, (though I do use my own preferred brand of earphones, not the ones that came with the MP3).The controls are simple and easy to use. The SD Card feature is great - I have a 128GB one which was compatible with the older model and with this newer version.

I would highly recommend this Mps player. It’s the most stylish and modern one I have seen. It’s small and sturdy so can fit easily in my pocket when I’m out and about. It has fantastic sound quality and comes with a lovely set of in ear headphones.I use this when I go running and it never skips a beat, the volume is great and it is very quick and easy to set up. I have loads of songs added on to it and there is still a lot of space left. This is not only an MP3 player as it can be used as a voice recorder, radio, pedometer, photos and videos. The battery life is great, I use this everyday and the battery has lasted a week so far.

I love this mp3 player, it is very simple to work with, unlike some others on the market. Capacity is 16gb, but can be extended with a micro sd card upto 128gb. It has many programmes, with folders, bookmarks and much more. Great value for its price & small enough to fit in a pocket. Has equaliser for adjustment of sounds. Easy to load music, pictures, videos, even has an ebook and voice recorder, Bluetooth section intact. I have found this to be the perfect buy for all my uses. There is no need to spend loads of money on a top of the range, when this mp3 does it all within the value for money bargain ?:)

The item is very light, which I like a lot. It is perfect for sport and running because it also have timer, cronometer, pedometer, etc. The memory is very large. You can also make different folders for different types of song although it is not easy via computer, better to do directly within the device. The battery was initially lasting several days but then after a couple of recharges I have now to recharge it every second day (but listening music via bluetooth for several hours in a day). There is no touch screen, you made all choices via the button.

This a gorgeous rose gold colour, my daughters favourite colour. I bought this for my teenage daughter so that she can listen to music in hospital. She loves it. The colour is gorgeous, it has lots of storage space (far more than most MP3 players have), bluetooth to connect to her bluetooth ear buds and very easy to use. It's tiny so it fits in any pocket very easily. Lightweight. Comes with its own USB charging cable. For a fraction of a cost of the much more expensive MP3 players, we would definitely recommend this MP3 player.

9.7.2019

ince recieved I have used it regularly and the battery lasts around 6 hours this is better than expected. The storage is expandable so I have been able to fill it with my extensive music collection. I have so far been impressed with the sound quality as similar products can be distorted. Not the case with this little MP3 player. The bluetooth strength was better than expected but this would be a function I would rarely use but have no doubt that if I did it will be up to the job. I would definitely recommend this product

Very impressed with this MP3 it has lots of functions you can listen to your favorite music through data transfer because there is a micro sd card it has a radio you can still listen on the go, there is a sound recorder that you can use and there is also a pedometer you can use for running or walking and a timer, and you can also view and store videos very handy and it comes with a free arm band battery life is great. and so easy to use and it also comes with bluetooth i would recommend this product i love it!r

I've bought quite a few mp3 players over the years for myself and my husband as we don't like to ruin our phones batteries with music playing as we're listening to music for the biggest part of the day. But after a couple of years or so the mp3 players always became faulty. This one is the best one I bought so far. Love the design, features and is so easy and intuitive to use. Will be on my list now for when my husband needs one as well.Great little device!
