Those over the ears headphones are very good.FEATURES:- They are made of steel and leather (ear cushions and head rest), but seem a little heavy.- When they're on, a discreet blinking blue led lets you know that.- A pleasant female voice announce you when: power on/off, Bluetooth connected/disconnected, power level (when On, pressing shortly on Power button you will hear the voice telling how much battery you have left - Power Level Hi/Medium/Low).- Battery last... a lot! I have tested them for 2 sessions of 13 hours each with one charge and after that the voice told me Power Level Medium. I've charged them and, after 3 sessions of about 8.5 hours each, I still had Power Level Hi in one charge.I never got to Low, so I don't know how much it takes from Low to totally discharged. But I think 30 hours advertised are real.- Volume button is easy to use, with a little "dot" that sticks out and you can feel with your finger.- Next to it is the Play/Pause-Next/Previous button. Easy and intuitive to use. "Slide" it up for next song, down for Previous, push it for Play/Pause/Answer/Close calls.SOUND:- They have 30mm speakers, so they don't fully cover the ears (unlike the 40mm).- They have built-in Bass Feature, so EXTRA BASS can NOT be disabled. But, with the right player settings (for me -20Db) you can listen to great sounds on any type of music (from death metal to hip-hop and classical).- With standard settings, Extra Bass can be a little overwhelming, especially that it kinda kills the mediums and high sounds (I am a bass fan, especially for drums loudness, but those ae too much). So, finding the right settings in player equalizer can take some time and testings.- They are NOT Noise Cancelling phones, so don't expect to sound proof yourself when wearing them (I didn't want Noise Cancelling phones because I need to hear the surrounding noises at work). They do cancel most of the noise and, if you listen to moderate - loud music, you won't hear anything around you.- I don't know if, at max level, people near or around you can hear music when you wear them on your head, but keeping them around your neck makes them 2 little speakers that can be very loud.- The quality and clarity of the sound depends on that of the song/video you have and on the player, but the headphones conveys the sounds in the highest quality possible, as Sony should.COMFORT:- They seem a little heavy, especially if you go from in-ears phones.- Ear cups can be adjusted individually in any position (up, down, left, right), so, eventually, you can find the right position to feel comfortable.- They create some discomfort when wearing them for a long time (I wear them for at least 8 hours a day, but I still can't wait to take them down in breaks). The head band presses the speakers onto the ears, making them a little painful to wear for more than a half of hour, also making the ears very hot (nice when it's cold outside). But, with the stainless steel headband, you can widen the headphones a little to meet the desired comfort (I am big headed, so I had to do this to be able to wear them for 8-12 hours at work). For those with "normal" head, I don't think they will be a problem.- The cups feel nice, dressed with soft foam and covered with quality leather.OVERALL:They are hi-quality made, great sound, Extra Bass as the name is, intuitive and easy to use controls on the Right side, fast charging with the micro-usb port on the right side. Not good for running/jogging, as they tend to slide off the head on sudden moves.

've never been one for on-ear headphones but thought I may give a wireless pair a try after my in-ear pair weren't particularly comfortable and I felt I was always recharging them. I was looking to spend up to a certain amount and wanted a pair that performed well with all genres of music and had a bit of thump for rap and percussive tracks.I really love these headphones. Out of the box they look stunning (though check - first pair I received had an annoying blemish in the finish). Yes, they are plastic (albeit with a metal headband) but the metallic red looks awesome. They feel lightweight but you soon appreciate this as they are really comfortable to wear for hours.Pairing with a phone is easy with NFC working flawlessly with Android handsets. All the controls are on the right ear up with a jog-shuttle for navigating and controlling playback and a separate volume control. There is no wired input so it's wireless or nothing.Audio is great - nice stereo separation, the bass is not overpowering (there is no option to disable the XtraBass like the 950 model) but I've never found myself needing to, the highs are present. Maybe the mids are a little muddy but at this price, certainly nothing I'd complain about.Sony claim the battery lasts for 30 hours and with around 16 hours of listening so far I don't doubt this.I'm really happy with this pair - they do exactly what I want - and do it well at what I think is a reasonable price. You could do a lot worse! Just check the finish first!

This set of headphones were actually better and cost less than the other MDR headphones I bought from Sony in the past. The reasons are as follows; You can hear the voice automation to let you know they are turned on via the power button whereas the more expensive MDR's didn't, they just beeped. Also it notifies you through voice automation when it connects to the Bluetooth and the other MDR's didn't even have a function for it.They also have better depth of bass and sound amplification. They noise cancel better and they have easier button actions to adjust volume and call changes. The best part about it all is that I have a Sony Z3, a Sony Smartwatch 3 and these MDR headphones and they all function in sync with each other.I'm able to alternate volume and app access through my watch if my phone is within 100 yards of Bluetooth coverage for all 3 devices and the headphones have a prolonged battery life, which means despite the fact I have a mobile charger port device with USB on me, which fits in my pocket, I never need to worry about charging all 3 at the same time. All of them will work off a standard USB Android charger and this makes it easier for commutes to work, exercises at the gym or on the go and my downtime at home. I would only comment on these headphones, but Sony have done an excellent job in making it seamless for their users to incorporate devices to immerse their customers into an easy life with their products.Good job Sony.

Simply put: I love these headphones. I'm very picky about audio quality and the depth of sound. I particularly hate it when headphones and earbuds lack sufficient bass, but that is far from the case here. The sound is excellent. I received this free in exchange for my honest review and to tell you the truth I really didn't expect them to meet my sound expectations since I categorically reject so many other headphones, both pricey and inexpensive, for their lack of deep, rich sound. I was actually shocked when I turned these on at how phenomenal the sound really is. These are superior both in sound and comfort to the JAM bluetooth headphones that last passed my test.I also love that the ear cups fold flat making storage so much easier. I was able to connect this to my device quickly and easily and found that it has a good clear range as I walked the full length of my house with my phone left on the other side. I haven't used them for hands-free calling as that's just not something I need, but I can honestly say I have no complaints, no cons whatsoever.Read full review...

I was gifted these at Christmas (2018) and I loved the design of them straight out of the box. They are on ear headphones, and not over - I feel this is important to stress, because there is a difference. Sound quality is decent, but nothing outstanding. I didn't experience powerful bass as the product details suggested, and the headphones were tested across multiple audio devices, if anything, they are more on the crisper side. I have a cheaper pair of blue tooth headphones, that in my opinion, sound just as good. The other thing which surprised me, is the fact that the volume control dosen't go that high - again, I can get much more volume from the control on my other cheaper pair than these Sony's.My conclusion is,they are a good looking and nice sounding pair of headphones, but nothing really out of the ordinary. I was gifted these, but not sure I would have been really happy if I had payed the price out of my own pocket

I bought these headphones a couple of weeks ago. The sound quality is very good and much better that other of a similar price. They attached via the bluetooth easily. I like the fact that you can adjust the volume on the headphones and you do not have to look for the remote or volume control on the device you are linked to. They are reported to have up to 30 hours of battery life but I have not yet tested this claim. My only minor gripe is that you cannot really see how much batter life is left. Press the heaphne button and it appears always to say medium. Think I would place more trust in a visual representation of battery life. Notwithstanding this minor gripe, they represent excellent value for money and would have no hesitation to reccommend.

I wanted some headphones that were of good quality that did not break the bank - and these fit the bill. I use them primarily to listen to movies without bothering the neighbours and they are spot on for this. The sound quality is pretty good although I am no expert but it does everything I want and the sound is very immersive - exactly how I like it.However, the design could have been a little better and they can get a little uncomfortable after a couple of hours wear - but this may be me not quite doing it right as these are still a recent acquisition. This is the only reason I am rating it four stars.Otherwise a nice piece of kit that I am happy to recommend.

+Excellent sound quality!! (several other reviews were saying 'too much bass' at times but thats not true at all)+Really nice appearance and good button controls (I wish they were actually metallic though, its plastic but looks like metal)+Great battery life and a professional feel to the notification voice (eg "power on")Things to improve:-IMPORTANT: Cant use them in rain!! Maybe v. light rain is ok, but anything more will ruin them-Uncomfortable over long periods of time-Volume buttons can sometimes make the song skip for some reason-Include a wired AUX option (not all devices support wireless)Overall though, excellent headphones!

I read many reviews prior to buying and was originally going to buy a cheaper set. The extra bass makes all the difference to the sound quality so I would encourage anyone swithering to pay the extra. I'm not a technically specialised buyer but found them extremely easy to use and set up. They are luxuriously weighty and the glossy metallic finish appears robust . They are comfortable to wear and it's easy to manipulate the settings whilst they are in place. The range is reasonable and I've had no issue with interference. I've owned them for a few weeks so cannot comment in the longevity of the product. All in all an excellent buy.

I have been using these headphones for a month every day and i honestly can say they are the best set of phones i have ever owned .Sound is excellent. They are comfortable and easy to use / set up . These are bass heavy so adjustments on a graphic are required for the music of your choice .I listen to electronica and they are perfect for that but not sure how other genres might square up . I have tried on phones that market at twice the price but these are just as good if not better than some of the more "obvious" brands available. Recommended. :)

First time I've ever used bluetooth headphones so nothing to compare them to, but so far, so good. They are easy to connect, comfortable to wear and give fine sound quality. I'm using them for night time television watching, not for mobility, so can't comment on useable distance from source. Am a little concerned that the charge might fail without warning in the middle of watching a program, and apparently you cannot use them and charge at the same time, which is the only reason I'm dropping a star. Otherwise, one satisfied customer.

I've had these a few months now, I bought these to wear when out running so a good battery life was importantI wear these 5 days a week running around 100 miles & the battery life is just superb ! Playing music all the time it feels like forever till they need a charge .....and the sound quality is just superb When running it's so easy to adjust volume, fast toward/rewind take a call such is the great design My only grumble is they don't fit over my ears very comfy and I've always been told my ears are small

I got these headphones after my larger Sony ones of the similar type broke, either someone broke them or I stepped on them without realising. I didn’t realise they are different when I got them as they look pretty similar. I decided to keep them despite not having an enable/disable bass button like the larger ones. But they have 30hr playback battery so I’ve decided to use them for gym and outside use. Very nice sound, and very nice bass. Definitely a quality product and purchase..

22.8.2018

Considering the money that the headphones cost compared to other brands being sold I would say these are good value. The only downside is the amount of bass the headphones generate although this can be adjusted through various media software/apps.Dynamically the headphones are fine although the do seem to lack some detail especially with the mid range.Overall, a fair price for a fairly good performing set of headphone if you can tolerate the bass.

Great quality, sound and superb Bluetooth connection so far to all my apple products including iMac.The headphones have a long battery life from a single charge. I have not re-charged these yet and that's about two weeks of pretty regular use.My only small complaint would be the Bluetooth connects only after a few attempts regularly to the iMac but it does connect and the product came with quite a wodge of packaging.
