I absolutely love these headphones. They sound great and have a great battery life. However, there are some things that do annoy me about them.Pros:I find these very comfortable, and the cushions around the ear to be quite soft, the overall build is solid and feels high quality. The sound quality is great and the extra bass is amazing; It makes all songs sound so so much better, especially if you listen to genres like hip hop and R&B which tends to have a lot of bass. You can adjust levels of extra bass on the app. Although, I personally always keep it on full. The extra bass is really, really good. I've already mentioned it, but it's great. I love it. it makes every song sound better, and if you have it on high volume and on the high bass setting, you can feel the headphones vibrate on your head, they're that great.Noise cancelling is also a useful featureThese headphones are wireless with a good range. The battery life is phenomenal! For someone like a commuter who may only use these headphones for an hour or two a day, I could imagine you would only have to charge these once a week! As someone who constantly listens to music, I personally use these headphones several hours a day, and even still I only have to charge these about twice a week.Foldable design is handy for travelling, although i always keep them around my neck. The app for these headphones has some cool features where it has an effect on the music, its kind of hard to describe, essentially there are settings you can turn on in the app where it sounds like your in an 'arena' or 'club' etc. Its gimmicky and I never really use it but its there.Cons:These headphones are BIG. I once had a classmate describe my headphones as "two frying pans on my head" because they really do stick out. they're not big as in made for a big head, as i have a small head and they fit fine, but if you're conscious about wearing headphones that stand out maybe these aren't for you, because the headphone cups are the biggest I have ever seen. (theyre not heavy though despite the size)The noise cancelling is pretty weak. It will cancel out low frequency humming, but if you're expecting to turn these on and not hear voices, you'll be disappointed. Without playing any music and having the noise cancelling turned on in a room with people talking in it, their voices sound just quieter and a bit more muffled than they would be without wearing the headphones. apart from that, i can hear conversation just as I could without the headphones. With music turned on and on a higher level you won't be able to hear anything, but thats more the volume of the music than the noise cancelling. Therefore, the noise cancelling really isn't very good. (If you're looking for headphones mainly for their noise cancelling abilities, I would instead recommend something like the Bose QuietComfort 35's, they're the best for noise cancelling!)One thing that annoys me about the headphones is you never get given any warning on the headphone battery. If you don't check on it, you'll have no idea whether you're low battery or not, and whats worse is you get no warning to charge the headphones, so on a few occasions these headphones have simply turned off on me without warning because they have ran out of battery, which is very inconvenient and annoying. Although, because the battery lasts so long, this only happens rarely.Another annoying thing about the battery levels on these headphones is they're pretty meaningless. Despite Sony giving you battery percentages, it only essentially means 'high', 'medium', and 'low' battery, as the only 3 percentage levels you will ever get when checking your battery is 100%, 70%, or 20%. This is very annoying, as you actually have no idea of what battery percentage level your headphones are on.One small thing I personally find annoying about these headphones is that any time you turn on extra bass or noise cancelling or even checking battery percentage, the music cuts out for about 5 seconds whilst a prerecorded female voice announces extra bass being turned on or whatever it is. Although this isn't a big deal for something like the battery percentage, I find it kind of annoying when you miss a chunk of you're song as your headphones announces to you what feature you've just turned on. this isn't really a big deal, more of a pet peeve of mine, I wish you could turn off this announcement feature so I wouldn't miss a part of my song. what really makes this worse though, is that the buttons on the headphone itself are so easy to press!! and sony have put the buttons RIGHT where my hands want to be when im handling my headphones. so when I first got these headphones, I often found myself accidentally turning off extra bass or noise cancelling mid song as I was adjusting them or putting them on or whatever, which is just inconvenient, as then I have to turn it back on again, which all in all probably takes a good 15 seconds before i can resume listening to my music again.TL;DR/Conclusion: If you love bass, these are the headphones for you, if you're not that bothered about bass, there are other headphones with better features and maybe even a cheaper price tag. I myself am a basshead, and so these headphones have greatly improved/enhanced my experience listening to music. However, if you're not that obsessed with with the extra bass, there are better headphones out there for you. These headphones really are massive, and the noise cancelling honestly is sub-par. So if you have any features other than bass that you regard as the most important, look elsewhere. these headphones are great, but they're made for people who love bass, and their main selling point is bass, its what these headphones are best at, and so I wouldn't buy them for anything else besides that.

I previously owned the Crusher Wireless and was pretty much sucked in by their bass .. however ..sucked in.. are the key words here ..Like most people who buy them mine broke at the hinge within 10 months .. this lead me on a hunt for more bass heavy headphones, hence my purchase of the Sony's ...at first I was in turmoil as which to buy ..the Crusher again or these Sony's ..and boy am I glad I went the Sony route ... But here's the thing ...the Sony's have less bass ..so why am I happier with less ...well it's very simple ...sound quality and bass handling ...the Crushers are very good at sucking us in because they have mountains of bass ..but ..it's bad quality bass and they only seem tohandle one set bass frequency ....the bass on those are more like a nasty loud thud where as the Sony's have a good quality sounding tight thump and can handle various bass frequency's in different styles of music .... Get a set of the Sony's and head over to soundcloud...you won't take these things off ..... The only negative I can find is that when using the supplied headphone cable the volume is very low compared to having them connected via Bluetooth ..To end ..no matter how tempted you are to buy the Crushers over these ...don't bother ..Ive now had both and the Sony's are world's ahead .. Oh and one oher thing, download the Sony Connect app from Androids play store, switch off the Bass Boost button on your headphones, set the app to off and just adjust the bass slider within the app.... your going clubbing... trust me .:)Awesome headphones ..no question about it .

OMG !! LOVE THESE.... I don't want to babble on too much about these, but, I love them... I love the look & love the sound. I've been looking for a decent pair of Wireless Bluetooth headphones for a little while now. For the longest time, I've had Sony earphones, but having just recently lost my earphones, now seemed as good as time as any to go all out & get some headphones again. These are awesome. have only tried them for a short time so far, but they feel very very comfortable on and light weight. The controls are easy to use, although the Bass Boost button is a little awkward to find due to the button being flush.. would be better if it was raised or indented. Plenty of Bass in these to keep bass heads quiet, being one myself. The few songs I've tried so far, the bass wasn't overpowering, with or without the Bass Boost. The app, although limited, is ok for mainly adjusting the bass.. would definitely benefit with a full EQ, or at least be able to adjust the Treble also, hence 4 stars & not 5. The Noise Cancelling cancelled out the air conditioning unit in my office, though I'm yet to try them outside & see how they fare. Overall, I'm very happy with my new toy & look forward to trying them at the gym tonight... finally, no more wires getting in the way, or being yanked out my ears. Happy Days..

I have owned these headphones for around 6 monthsBattery Life:Takes over a few hours to fully charge the headphones but it does last long. However, the charging slot is not USB C which is a newer & better way of charging your headphones.Build Quality:They are quite large headphones but they are really comfortable. They are not made out of metal but instead plastic. However, they are quite heavy. If I let them rest on my neck, my neck will begin to ache...Sound:The sound is alright for headphones but I feel like their quality does not match their price.A lot of cheaper earphones are better in terms of sound quality. With regards to noise cancelling, they do not block out sound as well as I'd hoped. You can still hear your surroundings which some people may prefer but it's not what I wanted. The bass effect is good but yet again I feel like I have been let down. I previously owned £25 Sony Headphones but they have not performed a whole lot better than them.Bluetooth:The bluetooth is excellent & I did not struggle to pair my headphones. However, I did struggle to pair to 2 devices....The bluetooth NFC option is truly great and I am glad to see that it has been implemented.

I owned the predecessor to these and upgraded after a year (and them breaking). In comparison to those (MDR-XB950BT) the MDR-XB950N1 are less comfortable. There's just slightly less padding on them, which was a huge plus on the old pair as my ears stick out considerably. The diamanter of the padding also seems slightly smaller.Noise canceling function is a huge plus. It performs well against low-level noises such as the rumbling of a train - almost completely eliminating the sound. Decently well against traffic. High frequency sounds (people talking etc) are still very audible, but much less of a distraction. The downside is that they're almost useless when it's windy as the wind interferes with the microphones, meaning it's *adding* noise, instead of reducing it.On board mic for voice calls is fairly useless.Annoying voice that announces when you turn on/off XB/NC features. This would be alright, but it cuts out the audio of what your listening to as well. All round a good pair of headphones with great sound quality for their price point. I think youd get more value for money buying the older set however the build quality isn't quite as good as the N1s.

After alot of searching, reading and scratching my head... I got these little beauties, I've had alot of sony headphones over the years. After getting the excellent Sony a45 media player at Xmas., I found that the internal amplifier was a bit quiet (compared to my ancient old ipod). Experimenting with a pair of In ear Bluetooth ( Sony sbh52) I found the volume I wanted. So jumped in and brought these Sony MDR-XB950B1, extra bass is a understatement, so choose carefully when to hit that button.I like all sorts of music, but one thing I do like is my music to be club like, if you do too then you'll love these. Instantly you'll love the thumps, taps and fizz. Proper dance like sound...The bass does mask over some mid range quality, and I can see why some would mark these down stars. For refinement I use AKG K550mk2 in the home. But few days in I'm loving these bt fines...

If you like rich, deep bass, you are in for a treat! I would genuinely compare the bass to putting your head next to a 200W dual subwoofer cabinet. The treble is constant through out all bass settings and produces a clear, crisp sound. I would put sound quality up there with B&W P2's only with that added deep bass which you don't get with many headphones. You don't have to listen to bass heavy songs to get the optimum experience with these, when revising I often listen to The Martian (film) soundtrack and the quality produced by these is just up there! Its clear and crisp, just that low end is so strong and powerful, but not overly powerful (unless you change the equaliser to bass heavy then it is).If you have any doubts (I wouldn't!), I would watch the UrAvrgConsumer review of these and the XB950BT version of this.

I love these Sony Headphones absolute treat to the ears! The sound and bass is just perfect. The battery life is very decent. I think with any headphones if you have them on for too long your ears do hurt a little but other than that they are comfortable. It can be a bit annoying wearing them on a windy day. You get the wind just bettering against the headphones but again that'll be for any headphones you were. The colour is just wow! Look amazing in the sun! Had loads of compliments about them. Defo get these if you're wanting an upgrade but in the mid price range!

+ Sound quality+ Noice Cancelation is good (not great)+ They are Foldable+ Over-ear style+ Cool App+ Soft Cushions+ Very well place controls+ Confortable- The Design isn't great. They look outdated and they are really big- Poor microphone- Charging time is too much- Multiparing is not possible- You can not charge at the same time you're listen some music- No box for caring your headphones, only a pouch- They do suffer in the wind. The ear cups have little grates in them, so wind blows through and causes a lot of distortion.

My mate purchased these a week ago and raved on about the extreme levels of bass that these puppies drive out and I was keen to give them a try.I now believe in love at first sight - I was sold instantly and hastily purchased myself a pair.As an extreme bass head these are MORE than enough and have forced me to turn the bass down at times (not a sentence I thought I would ever say)TLDR; purchase these if you want incredible bass with the added features of comfort, long battery life and easy to use controls

I purchased these after buying the Sony h.ear on 2 after they started sounding a bit crackly with only after a few months use. I've found the sound quality on these is actually much better and they are much more comfortable and after a few months use no change. The only functionality I miss is the swipe feature on the H.ear on 2. I've tried different wireless headphones over the last months for best sound quality and this is definitely the best so far!

Absolutely love these headphones. The extra bass is impressive and the sound cancelling is really good. The sound quality is excellent. They were really easy to connect to my phone and dont cut out like other bluetooth headphones. They are very comfortable and look very well built. I have practically had them on since i got them (yes seriously, i love my music) and the battery life is also really good. You definitely get what u pay for.

These headphones are easy to use and I uses the Bluetooth feature to watch films late at night without anyone in my house losing sleep, I was told I needed a Bluetooth TV but I didn't, my TV is not Bluetooth my DVD player is and they work just fine. My only real gripe is the volume is hard to adjust and it is a bit fiddly putting my headphones in the pouch when not in use.

This is a nice headphone. Unfortunately, its only good for Apple Products (iPhone, Ipad and Ipods) for a specific modelsOtherwise, the headphone bass is excellent and the cost is reasonably priced compared to Bose. I have Bose, its very expensive. This is almost half the price. It has also noise cancelling on top of the extra bass. Buy this headphone .
