My wife needed a new machine and this seemed to fullfill all the criteria she required. We had to go through the setting up instructions together but found the proceedure easier than we feared. My wifes only critisism is that the tension guidelines in the indtruction book are a little misleading. She had an issue with the tension but a quick call to the help line showed that she had the wrong settings for the work she was doing. The machine has performed as she requires ever since.

Thisis a doddle to set up and use. It has a very smooth, quiet action and by following the recommended settings I achieved perfect stitches straight away. Guidance numbers on the machine itself help with threading it up and the lower thread bobbin sits in a perspex covered well so you can see at a glance how much thread is left on the bobbin. There is a bright LED light.and around 30 built-in stitches. The accessories compartment is seriously small but a great machine for the money.

Well it’s been 30 years since I last used a sewing machine and I knew things would have improved over the years with technology but I was amazed at how many different stitches you could do on this machine and the built in needle threader is an absolute life saver. Highly recommended this simple to use machine. I absolutely love it! Watch a YouTube video on this model to learn lots of beginners tips, I found them to be invaluable. Go treat yourself to one, you won’t be disappointed

I think this is a great machine. I think it is worth paying a bit extra for a quality product. I haven't tried all the stitches (yet) but there are lots to choose from and it sews really well I noted in some other reviews - people had issues with the needle threader. - The trick, is ensuring to raise the needle to it's highest point before using the threader. If it's too low the threader doesn't seem to catch the thread. (YouTube is a great help)

Replaced my ancient Singer sewing machine with this super modern one and so pleased with it. Haven’t used one for years but this was so easy to set up and I’ve already tried out some of the great sewing stitches that I’ve never used before. Would highly recommend - looks good, really smooth and nice and quiet.

Singer Fashion Mate 3342 Sewing Machine is a high quality product for both beginners and advanced. Very easy to use and a needle threading device something wonderful. Very quiet operation of the sewing machine. The product recommendable.

Singer 3342, Good quality and a lot of function in one sewing machine such as one-button lock. I have been compared with the other, this is the one in price-wise and quality-wise. Love it. Thanks for Argos selling at reasonable prices. ;)

Went from a small cheap machine to this bad boy. Works like a dream, quality of my sewing has improved so much. Much to be said for the automatic needle threader, so much time saved from faffing about manually threading a needle

I love it, Its a great little machine.I bought this machine because it had a automatic needle threader, it took me a while to get the hang of it but it was worth the time.its a very light machine and so easy to carry around.

being a beginner at sewing I was looking for something that was not basic but not something that is so advanced I wouldn't ab able to use it, I chose this machine as its a good mid range one, value for money its great.

This was a replacement for a 42 year old Singer machine. It is really easy to use.The needle threader took a few attempts but I have worked it out now, it's all about getting the height of the needle correct.

Well machine is ok. However we had to return it as while good at general work at domestic level it cannot do thicker cloth. Sadly. But the actual machine is great for normal day to day work.

A good, reliable and a quite solid sewing machine. It produces a different kind of pattern settings from which you can choose even hard material such as jean or leather trousers can be done.

This is a great machine. I’m an absolute beginner and found the setting up process really easy to follow. It has a self threading needle which is a huge bonus. Would highly recommend.

After reading reviews decided to buy this machine so pleased easy to set up , instructions clear , very quiet nice machine, not heavy either would definitely recommend .
