I purchased this sewing machine through the Cooper website for a very competitive price of £159.00 I am a beginner when it comes to sewing machines so did a lot of research before buying. I was considering several machines including a Janome, Brother and the Viking E10 however after coming across the Cooper website I felt the features and benefits of the E20 warranted the extra £50.00 (also the 15 year warranty, annual servicing, free scissors worth £40.00, the free independent needle threader worth £9.99 and free home delivery!) When I received the machine (yesterday) the first thing that struck me is that the machine does not look exactly the same as the picture as the pattern is only in thearea surrounding the reverse stitching lever and instead of the stitch selection panel being one long horizontal row it is actually two rows (one above the other) As far as I can tell the differences are purely cosmetic. The machine is not too heavy, solidly built and of very good quality. The machine is easy to set up and comes with 4 bobbins and 7 feet along with other bits and pieces that are handily stored in the built in accessories box. The instruction manual is clear and concise and very simple to follow. Bobbin winding, threading and feet changing are all very simple. Within minutes I had made a cushion cover despite the fact I haven't used a sewing machine in maybe 12 years! I cannot recommend this machine (and the service received from Coopers) highly enough. The sewing machine comes with a great range of stitches (including overlocking and one-step button holes) and I believe it is a wonderful machine for a beginner such as myself or the experienced machinist alike. Don't hesitate; buy the Husqvarna Viking H-Class E20!

The Husqvarna-viking E20 has a good solid build and many useful features. The tension is automatic but you can adjust it if needed, and you can vary the stitch width and length. If you are using thick material or are trying to sew a bulky seam the two step pressure foot is very handy. Stitches include various over-lock and decorative options. The accessories include a darning foot which was really hard to fit. I would recommend the generic low shank darning foot I bought from Amazon which was easy to put on and accommodated my large hand-embroidery hoop easily. If I have a quibble it is with the instruction booklet. The instructions for accessing the decorative stitches were not clear and it was only by trial and error that I worked out how to do it.If you want to do the decorative stitches, your stitch length must be between 0 and 1 and make sure you have the satin foot on. Also, how to use the built-in threader is not explained. I got the impression this feature was added before the manual was updated as this feature is not mentioned in the product description. I had to turn to the Internet for help. However, I am not complaining about an extra!Altogether very good value for money and I was pleased with the service from GUR.I have received this link from a Mr McCarthy [...]. Thank you for the link. I have watched the videos and they are very useful. They clear up all the questions raised above.

Ok. I have been wanting to get a sewing machine for a few years now and decided after reading reviews to opt for this one.I have never used a sewing machine before or received instructions but nevertheless couldn't wait to get started. It took me around an hour to set it up ie fit the desired needle, feed the thread etc according to the instructions supplied.I bought the sewing machine so that I could repair some jeans with a denim patch as they had worn in the crotch on both sides of the seam and alter my work shirts which were a one size fits all fat people, so they had the tailored fit. I got stuck in and about 1.5 hours later they were done.Utterly chuffed with it. Comes with the bobbins and needles required. Also different feet and an adjusting tool. When you load the bobbin with thread it has an automatic stop so you don't overload it. The actual locating of the thread through the machine is a little fiddly so I used a toothpick to help locate it in certain places, I had bought some thread snips from my local shop so that I got a nice clean thread end to feed through the needle. My first sewing machine. Seemingly good quality and I'm looking forward to altering my clothes to fit.Very happy.

Although I am yet to undertake any major projects - so far only curtains and minor alterations to children's clothes - I am very happy with this purchase. It is really straightforward to use, Blind hems are really easy with the special foot that comes provided. Also, in response to an earlier reviewer, mine does have an automatic threader, which is particularly useful if you are a bit tired or bleary-eyed.I have a couple of niggles, but these are minor compared to the machine's overall performance, quality and value for money. The niggles are:1. The plastic box for tools seems very light weight, and if using flat bed rather than free arm, it is a nuisance to have to take it off each time you change the bobbin.2.No carrying case - do most machines still come with these? I assumed this would but perhaps that is expecting to much for the price.Using this machine has been really straightforward, and the results look professional. I would say that it is definitely worth considering if you are about to buy a new machine.

took a bit of time to get used to the machine and its controls. The button hole lever was a bit of a problem and kept getting nudged, but once we pushed it UP out of the way and let the machine go through the button hole cycle we had the machine running in basic mode. Superb starting! The machine just picks up straight away and begins sewing with the lightest touch on the pedal. This makes control so easy and would be ideal for a beginner. It is light weight so easy to put away and bring out as and when you need it rather than the tendency to leave the heavier brick like machines in place even though they are getting in the way. It is quiet too.Very "enjoyable" machine to use and would encourage you to do more.

It was like coming home. I’ve had a HUSQVARNA before and, despite all the wonderful things this new one, E20, does, it’s like an old friend. Straight from the box, threaded it up and not a hiccup. I imagine this machine would be a dream for a beginner, which I am not, lol, because it simply works! Faultlessly, efficiently, quietly and without fuss. The Users Guide is a bit bigger than my original but just as much to the point and easy to understand. Good illustration of exactly where threads go and more “feet” than I , as yet, know what to do with, though the cherry on the cake is a quilting foot! Oh, the quilts I am going to make on this beautiful machine, lol. Buy with confidence, you just can’t go wrong.

What a fantastic machine! I'm a professional seamstress. My old Singer needed replacing. I initially purchased a Uten computerised which I promptly returned due to it beeping whenever it had to deal with 3 layers of duchess satin! So frustrating. So, I went for this. No LCD etc but I can honestly say, that old saying "they dont make them like they used to" doesnt apply to this. It feels so well made. Sturdy and does a fabulous job. It comes with a dvd which I didn't need to use as it's so user friendly. I'm so very glad I found it. Was begging to worry after my experience with the Uten. This machine is manufactured by Singer too. I simply can not fault it!

I am an experienced sewer, on industrial and domestic machines and am delighted with my purchase. I ordered it Monday and the machine was delivered on Wednesday. Machine is as described. This machine will suit beginners and experienced sewers equally well. It is quiet, has an assortment of stitches from straight to zig, zag, stretch stitches, one step button hole feature and a host of others.easy to thread and the needle threader is a big help. The instruction book is easy to follow.I used these machines in college and liked them so it was an easy choice for me when my old machine stopped working.

I recently purchased the Husqvarna Viking E20 sewing machines from Coopers Sewing Machines via Amazon. The machine was delivered promptly and without damage. It is lightweight yet robust, stylish and with an easy to follow booklet. It has an excellent selection of stitches and accessories - most importantly for me was that it had a forward entry push-in bobbin case, as I am not a fan of drop-in bobbin cases. The machine is very easy to use and would suit both a beginner or a more experienced sewer. A very well put together machine from a well known reputable company and excellent value for money.

I bought this model for my wife. She is impressed with what the machine can do. She loves the automatic threader and the ability to adjust stitch width was new to her having previously used an antique. She loves it.My only concern is the rather fragile looking plastic top bobbin holder on an otherwise robust machine . I suspect that it could be easily damaged if the machine is carried any distance in a bag . It is detachable with 2 screws. however...this is what loses it the fifth star. Maybe l am just used to the beautiful build quality of her old 1950s Singer.

Cant rate this machine highly enough I really love it. I am in the amateur bracket of needle craft and was a little worried i would not be able to master even the simplest of tasks, but this comes with good instructions and I have made all kinds of things. Recently dolls clothing and party bags, from fat quarters and even started adjusting curtains. Its well made and fairly robust. I have snapped several needles but that was down to my inexperience rather than quality issues. I have had this machine for several months now and no problems to report.

I bought this machine after my 30+year old New Home sewing machine suddenly stopped working in the middle of a large sewing project. Rather than faff about trying to get it repaired I thought it was time I treated myself to a new one. This is a great machine, easy to use so far but I haven't tried out all it's functions and put it through it's paces yet. Will do all I need it to and more. Great service too from The Sewing Studio, ordered Monday 24/8/20, delivery expected Sat 29/8 but was actually delivered the next day.

Nice machine ,very different from my Singer sewing machine different in threading and where the spool is located .But I found some very useful/helpful u tube videos .i’m getting use to it now . It sews really nicely ,I’ve made several projects for which I’m really pleased . I hope to do many more projects with it and even start sewing machine course ,once this pandemic is over .In the meantime I’ll use books and videos for help and advise round cushions next project great machine

The machine is excactly as expected to be. Seems durable, well-built, functional and nice looking. So far (after almost a month) it functions without problems and the user's manual is helpful, although not so elaborate (practical tips, basic sewing instructions or simple projects execution could add additional value). An automatic threading feature would be highly appreciated (the reason for which I chose the 4star evaluation). In any case I am satisfied with this purchase!

When I asked the amazon search for a sewing machine NOT made in China one of them came up as Husqvarna after doing a bit of research which said it was Swedish I chose the above only for it to arrive with Made in China stamped over the box. Another thing I asked for on my search was for a drop in bobbin big disappointment when I found the side bobbin. Having said all that I have kept the machine as its nice and comfortable to use and very quiet compared to my old one.
