I've been using this router for c. 4 weeks, primarily to build a router table / cabinet that will house it.Pros- cheap and comes with a free extended guarantee when you register on Silverlines website- powerful (e. 2.7 HP), I've routed 3/4 oak, teak and laminated MDF with no problems- good selection of collets, though some will not really be used- small selection of bits included, no idea if they are any good though as I've not tried them out- fairly good case if you are going to travel with itCons- plunge mechanism can stick, particularly if you let the base 'slap' down on releasing it (though anyone who uses tools in that fashion would not be welcome in my workshop),the sticking is particularly noticeable if you are not plunging straight down on the router so it might not be suitable for free hand design work- as has been mentioned several times, guide bush is no good, not an issue for me as I use the fences on the router table, but a unibase would need to be purchased.Overall, it suits me as I plan on leaving it in situ within the cabinet, I'm not concerned with the included fence etc and the power is enough for raised cabinet doors. I'd probably not want it as a primary router though if you plan on doing a lot but as a secondary or backup it's perfect.

I bought one of these routers 3 weeks ago to use to fit new kitchen worktops. It did the job. Comments:-1. Fantastic value for a router with this power.2. Quality of the main components like the motor and bearings seems fine.3. Quality of fittings like depth gauge, parallel guide etc. is not so good. Already the depth gauge index conrol has been out twice to be greased and rebuilt. However, quite honestly this router has paid for itself on one job, and is still perfectly serviceable.4. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the Trend 30mm guide does not fit. What I did was to buy a set of plastic guides from B&Q (Trend again, but different to the Amazon offering),and hacksawed the plastic either side of the 30mm guide from this set (so that what was left would clear the opening in the router bottom plate), drilled two new holes in the plastic and bolted it to the metal 20mm guide supplied with the router. I then bolted the whole assembly to the router using the holes for the 20mm guide. Not very elegant but it worked fine.5. Also used Faithfull kitchen worktop router bit set and silverline worktop jig. All worked fine.6. Doing kitchen worktop joints like this is not for the fainthearted!

This is a budget router no doubt when you consider a Trend will cost over £300! but you get a lot for your money. Bought this to initially install a kitchen worktop. Have now done three as well as numerous other projects that needed 1 1/2"router. Plenty of power a as long as you set it up properly and use good quality bits it works fine. My thoughts on buying it were that if I got a tear out of it and did all of the projects I had planned it would be good value. It has been going now for 3 years with no sign of packing up so a great buy. Not sure if you were using it every day as a trades person if it would last but if you need this type of router for a home workshop I would say it will befine based on my experience with it!

Heavy and substantial 2050w router.Micro Adjustment on depth, soft start and up to 32k rpm. Comes with five bits, one 18mm guide bush, spare carbon brushes and a three year guarantee if you register within 30 days. You might need to buy a sub-base and more bushes to use some Jigs and you will need more bits. The only thing that I can give as a negative is no micro adjustment on the parallel guide but some £500 routers still don't have this. No real negatives equals 5 stars.

if you want a plunge router that has all necessary accessory's this is the one to buyit is a wolf in sheep clothing , it has 5 router bits , guide plates ,spare brushes , spare collets , etc etcthe advert does not do justice to the whole package , it may not be the rolls Royce of router's but it hasa 2000W plus motor with 1/2 inch spindle that will match any router twice the price for performance and powermy advice is buy one of these packages ASAP

I bought this router to miter my kitchen worktop that i will be starting shortly, excellent value, the only problem is silverline do not make a 30mm jig guide to fit the router, and you need a 30mm guide to fit their jig, so i bought a uni guide from B&Q (on a wednesday to get my 10% discount) and it fits perfectly, i have been practicing on old pieces of work tops and the power from the router is brilliant, i'm looking forward to starting my kitchen.

I brought this for a specific job, to chamfer and mortice 130mm x 130mm oak fence posts. What a amazing bit of kit! came with all the tools, so could put it straight to work. 200 posts later and still going strong. The best value bit of kit i have brought for many a moon. The variable speed thing died after about 4 hours, but hey, look at the price, it was cheaper than a hire one for a week, and i can use it any time i like.Perfect, Well pleased

I bought this router for fitting our new kitchen worktops, the router has more than enough power for the job and performed brilliantly. The set also came with a 30mm guide bush which was not stated in the description so I have now returned the one I bought as an extra from eBay (you can't buy the required guide bush for this router on Amazon). It's one of those tools I rarely need but am happy to have this in my arsenal for when I do.

What a beast! I bought this to replace my older router (not Silverline) which began to pump smoke out of the motor housing. I sent the first one back (via "pass my parcel".....which is a great service) as it didn't have the collects included as it was advertised to have. I received another very quickly and all's well. I think its a great router for the money and I'm very pleased with it.I would recommend.

Great value for money and the customer service from silver line was brilliant when I had a question. Be aware this router doesn't fit the router table they sell. The only problem I have which I suppose is a big enough one is that the locking mechanism when changing bits slips alot and if you tighten to much its nearly impossible to open as it keeps slipping. I had to undo a few screws to get it to lock.

This is a good machine spoiled by a 'not very good' die cast base. Uses uncommon bushes too. It represents good value for money. I will make a new base for it using the 'American Style' bushes from Amazon/Silverline [Silverline 245122 1Silverline 245122 Guide Bush Set 10pce 5/16- 3/4/ 7.9 - 20.2mm Piece Guide Brush Set ]

Great router for the money. It's very powerful and exactly as advertised and arrived on time and in perfect condition. My only small criticism is with the design of the locking mechanism - it's not very robust and prone to slipping but for the price I paid I was not expecting perfection!

I've never used a router before so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my first model. I could have gone for another brand but I'm glad I didn't. This router has been excellent. It's powerful, sturdy and feels like a quality bit of kit.

As one of the lowest priced routers for its wattage I wasn't expecting too much. However having given it plenty use routering solid wood, soft wood and plastic it has proved a capable useful tool.

I am totally surprised by the way the machine looks and sounds.Haven`t tested the power yet but overall it looks fine.It comes with a few 1/2 router-bits and goodcase!
