This is simply a fantastic router.I was a little worried that this wouldn’t have the power for a lovely smooth finish, but I was completely wrong.It’s a little marvel. As good as any corded palm router, and not having a mains cable is so handy for routing in situ.I treated myself to the full boxed set. I have only used the plunge accessory base so far, but I'm sure I will use the others at some stage.The finish is gorgeous, the aluminium body is as smooth as you could hope for. With this kit you get all you could possibly need from a small trim router. Battery and charger are extra but was not a problem for me. The quality of the included items is amazing. As a DIYer I never thought I would own a Makita but this kit was better value than the cheaper brands and I can see why people like them so much. The soft start and battery lock features are excellent and the dust collection for the fixed base unit was the best of any tool I own. Dust escapes the plunge router base nozzle a bit but that is much harder to collect anyway, and improving my vacuum cleaner would probably help.Al the parts fit together so well and the tool is well balanced in useThere is even room for

Only used a few times now, but a great tool.I had the opposite problem from many of the reviewers. Instead of the supplied collet being too small, it seems slightly too big. Not even noticeable by eye, but despite tightening as much as i felt reasonable, the 1/4 router bit would keep slipping. Kept wondering why the depth of cut was changing until i noticed, thankfully before it dropped fully out.I had already ordered a 1/4 collet after reading the reviews before purchase, so i inserted that one and have had no problems.The collet was from amazon also, Makita 763637-1 Collet Cone 1/4" .

Being used to 1/2" chuck mains routers, this came as a pleasant surprise. With the Makita 5a battery attached and a set of Trend bits, I was very impressed with the quality and performance of this router. For me, it hits the perfect balance between weight and power. It's beautifully made (like most Makita equipment) and battery life is perfectly acceptable, I use two batteries, one charging, and one in use, there's barely a pause to change batteries..

Very easy to use, I bought all the accessories to enable different angles of use etc. Very light, very portable, small. Great for use with Makita batteries, although is heavier the higher the amp of battery you use e.g. 3Amp should be lighter than 5Amp but still easy enough to use one handed with care!

Only used the tilting base as yet, solid easy to use, router unit is light and seems to have plenty of power. Runs really quietly.I have checked over all the bases etc and they all fit well and grip well.Well packaged.I bought this on an e bay offer. Hell of a lot for your money.

Light versatile and really usable, this product has also given me the confidence to try new things with a router that I may have used more traditional methods before.

Surprisingly powerful for a small router and the added benefit of being cordless. If you use it with dust extraction use a good hose like the festool smooth 27mm one

I have now used this hanging (I've lost count ) so many doors and found it so useful no more transformers or leads as a carpenter i use this with the trend hing jig,

I already have a 240v mouthed to a table, so decided for extra flexibility to add one of these to my portable tool collection. Seems well built and fit for purpose

What a brilliant little router, really good weight and balance.I would recommend using a fully charged 5ah battery with it for maximum performance.

All the accessories you could ever need. Only used to scroll and level off at the moment. Be careful it is a very powerful machine.

Really like this router for doing hinges and locks. Great with battery power and safely cuts power when new battery is required.

this is my new favorite tool and trust me i have loadsnice to handle quite and powerful all the accessories will be useful too
