Lots of people do not drink for various reasons. Pregnancy, being a designated driver, a personal or family history of alcoholism, inability to metabolise alcohol, weight loss, sorting out hormone imbalance, cancer, liver issues etc... The list can be quite long and varied. So anyone who wonders what the point of this drink must live a very secluded life. It DOES NOT taste like flavoured water. It definitely tastes like a botanical spirit, but without the sharp bite of alcohol behind it, if that makes sense.Personally, I wanted to stop drinking during the week because I felt it was not a healthy habit. But non-alcoholic/low-alcoholic wine is awful and I don't like juice or soft drinks.I do however like a Hendricks & tonic. I didn't bother with the Seedlip drinks until I ordered one when we were at a Sunday lunch where I was designated driver. It was so delicious I ordered my first bottle of Garden when I got home. I must admit I haven't even tried the other flavours because this one makes me so happy and allows me to continue my evening ritual of preparing a G&T with a slice and squeeze of lime without the calories, sleep interference and general habitual use that alcohol causes. I switch back to Hendricks and/or Gordons on the weekend and find no difficulty in switching between the two. Both are delicious and it is a great product. My only complaint is that it wasn't around when I was pregnant...I remember thinking if I had to drink another Fentiman's Rose Lemonade I'd barf. A nice mildly bitter, botanical proper grown up drink like Seedlip would have been much better.

I love everything about this product, from the glass bottle it is in, the design of the labels are beautiful and well thought out to the clear calorie free, sugar free liquid inside. This is an amazing drink and I really do love it - the Seedlip Spice is a warming drink but DO NOT JUST ADD WATER.No it is not gin - it does not taste like gin - it does not confess to tasting like gin so do not buy it if you want it to taste like gin..I drink Seedlip 94 with Teisseire 0% sugar pink grapefruit and sparkling water in a tall glass and it is really delicious! The Seedlip 108 is also a lovely drink - again - not a gin! I add Teisseire 0% elderflower syrup, sparkling water and ice.I have not tried any with tonic water as I do not want to add any sugar and yes the price is a little high however this is a not your common cordial - you do not slug it down because you are thirsty - it is a drink to enjoy and savor and the enjoy the time that has been spent making this drink. As you can tell I am a great fan and will be buying more especially as they are on offer and the next one to try will be Seelip 42 which I think will go well with the Teisseire 0% Sugar Passion fruit - looking forward to it!Highly recommend and hope you enjoy ...

If you are expecting this to have the bite of alcohol, you will be disappointed. It seems that the reason this product is getting bad reviews is because it is not being used the correct way. I feel they are expecting it to takes like vodka, for example, without the alcohol which is not correct. It needs to be used as a base and build the flavors on top of it. You cannot simple mix it with a spirit and expect a flavorful drink. It takes some knowledge of flavors and pairings to male this product shine. This is a very interesting product. It gives the taste of alcohol (without the bite) however it is alcohol free. This is currently the only company worldwide that produces a product like this distilling herbs and then adding water so it gives a mocktail a “grown up” taste without the alcohol. This specific bottle has a strong cardamon scent and flavor which is much to my liking. It is not very appealing by itself but does pair well with flavored carbonated sodas and juices. I shook 3oz of this with 0.5 rhubarb syrup and 0.25oz lemon juice with ice then topped off with grapefruit soda. It was a big hit! I think adding some basil would really elevate it.

Better than real gin? NoA real alternative to gin that's better than many other options? Yes!I decided to have a period of total abstinence from alcohol (it's so common in Irish society you sometimes lose perspective on it) but during that time I wanted some 'adult' drinks that were an alternative to sugary or sweet non-alcoholic alternatives out there.I already really like tonic water but I also wanted something to jazz it up and add a bit of flavour and variety so I got both the Spice and Garden variants of the Seedlip Drinks. On balance I think I preferred the Garden version (like a slightly 'grassy' gin really)but the Spice version was also nice and it could have some interesting uses in the run up to Christmas.I wasn't keen on it neat or over ice but I wouldn't drink alcoholic spirits that way either (and am not a big spirits drinker overall).I shared it with many friends and relatives and most of them enjoyed it a lot, with an interesting split of partiality as between the Spice and Garden versions. I'd love to see what else the Seedlip Drinks company could come up with.

A lot of these reviews seem to focus on what they want this product to be and not reviewing it for what it actually offers. I stopped drinking back in August and have struggled to find suitable alternatives to accompany my relaxing time in the evenings. I used to be an avid red wine drinker and usually had gin and tonic when out with friends. I came across Seedlip and tonic whilst in a chain restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. It isn't trying to be gin, or any spirit for that matter, just an alternative, so approach with an open mind. It's reminiscent of gin, or a botanical spirit. Served with a decent tonic which pairs well, the flavours are elevated (elderflower fever tree goes perfectly with this edition). This particular flavour has lovely garden-esque notes, encapsulating it's name perfectly. Pair with a sprig of fresh rosemary, delicious.Overall, if you're after a non-alcoholic drink to tide you over or replace alcohol, this is perfect. I am drinking this daily, and I love it. If you are looking for gin, this isn't gin.

But it is a delicious drink that I am more than happy to have instead of my usual couple of glasses of wine in the evening. I had mentioned this drink to my wife around Christmas and she bought me the Garden 108 Herbal in the gift set that comes with a smart looking measure and an unusual glass. I enjoy measuring out the Seedlip into the glass, adding three ice cubes and topping up with tonic. This started off as dry January but as I noticed the weight coming off as the month went by I've decided to carry on until the begining of April, Seedlip is making it easy.I prefer the Garden 108 to the other two, this one definitely has a stronger flavor and is just throughly enjoyable.Seedlip make no reference to weight loss after giving up alcohol on their website but perhaps they should. If you are going to try it please dont think by buying this you are getting an alcohol free taste alike gin, you arn't but you are buying a great flavoured non alcoholic spirit.

I tried this once, and I must say that the price is very well worth it. It tastes just like flavoured water that you could buy from Tesco for 50p a bottle, but the pretentiousness is worth every penny. The ability to look down on people while you drink it and just know that they are judging you, saying things like "I can't believe he spent £30 on that! He's an absolute idiot and this is why nobody likes him and he has no girlfriend. He's a pompous, pretentious little dork and he will never get laid." in their head but I cannot hear them over this amazing bargain. If you want to really try this for yourself I would really recommend it -- just turn on your tap and add a little flavoured water to it.That's the good life. Now, imagine paying £30 for it and you're there.

Well, I really wanted to like this , it sounded like a real alternative to my nightly toddler induced gin and tonics. I have to admit the first taste was not what I was expecting and I decided I was quite disappointed especially because it cost the same as a bottle of gin! The second night I popped an ice cube in alongside the tonic deciding that I really should give a better go because it had, after all cost the same as a bottle of gin, and I was pleasantly surprised. I think the trick is to not approach this as an alternative to g&t - it is gentle, complicated and definately a grower; it is like a hayfield after rain.I have promised myself that I will make up the watermelon infusion thingy as written on the seedlip website and give that a go soon.

This really is a lovely, grown up drink - I find the usual alternatives of cordials and flavoured waters too sweet or bland but this is drink I can actually choose over a G and T or a glass of wine without feeling like I'm missing out! It's expensive - but so is gin and wine and I think it's worth it. I was VERY sceptical about the pea and cucumber flavours I'd read about but it really does work. I don't think of it as non-alcoholic g and t, rather as a botanical spirit without alcohol... Mix with Fevertree Angostura bark Tonic Water or Elderflower Tonic Water for a slight twist or the usual tonic and lemon - I'm sure there are many other successful variations but as a wind down drink in the evening these hit the spot beautifully.Great job Seedlip!

This is a fantastic grown-up alternative to having to drink sugary juices or endless soda when going teetotal. Beautiful packaging and a fantastic aroma really make you feel as though you're having a G&T but without the alcohol. For me, I love the ritual of having a G&T in the evenings and winding down from work, but had decided I'd like to cut back on alcohol a little, and this has made that process much more satisfying! My partner is quite a connoisseur of wine and spirits and isn't keen on the strong fresh pea pod aroma from this (which I happen to love) - so I imagine this might be a bit of a marmite type product. Comes beautifully packaged and looks like a quality gin (which it should do for the price!)- would be an ideal gift.

Reading lots of the bad reviews, you would be forgiven in thinking this drink was horrible. Well I can honestly say it is anything but.Like others I was looking for a way to have a nice refreshing G&T style drink but without the alcoholic content. What this isn't is a straight swap for your standard dry gin. Think more specialist/craft gin. It has a very earthy/grass like aroma (as the name would suggest) so if you don't like that then try the spicy or citrus one.All three are great in their own way and I like this one with the fever tree Mediterranean or cucumber tonics with lots of ice and a slice or two.So for me, along with its Spice and Citrus counterparts, great alternative to a G&T!

I have recently cut down on alcohol and have been trying lots of non alcoholic alternatives with some good and some bad results. I dithered about ordering Seedlip 108 due to the price and polarised reviews but I'm glad I did. The flavour is subtle - herby, earthy a mixture of sweet and sour. Mixed with tonic it's a fabulous alternative to an alcoholic spirit with tonic. The other good thing is that unlike most non and low alcohol drinks, it is calorie free - so a bonus if you have cut down on alcohol to try and lose weight. I liked it so much I have ordered its twin (Seedlip 94) to try next. The only downside is the price but I guess that is mainly due to low volume production.

I recently decided to cut out alcohol and give my liver a rest. However I love the ritual of an evening ‘drink’ to wind down with so bought a bottle of Seedlip Garden. Whilst no one else who sampled it liked it, I love it. It’s very fresh and herbal, I don’t get peas in the botanicals so much as cucumber but taste is very subjective isn’t it? I have a 25 ml measure ( well it is pricey, especially considering the lack of duty with no alcohol) with chilled tonic and I chill both bottles in the fridge as adding ice dilutes it and chills the flavour out of it In my opinion. Very lovely sophisticated drink( my liver thanks you!)

12.12.2017

This stuff is sublime! Surprised at the variety of reviews. Nothing like normal gin, no, but as a greeny-summery infusion/hydrosol thing it tastes deeply sophisticated and really more-ish. Got through a load the other day with friends before dinner as we couldn't stop drinking it to switch to alcohol. Every mouthful a joy.I'd personally avoid the stronger trendy tonic waters as they drown out all the subtleties of more delicate things, I suspect this included. We have it 1 part Seedlip to 2 parts normal (you know the brand) tonic and it is really something.Ought to be cheaper as no alcohol, agreed, but we love this.

13.5.2018

I love this stuff. I drink it with a good chunk of lemon, a splash of slimline tonic, a splash of soda and a shake of Angostura. Ice cubes. Feels like a grown up drink for people with sophisticated palates. Very grassy with a pea flavour. Judging by some of the reviews it's not for everyone, but there is nothing quite like it. Definitely not an alcohol substitute, but a distinct drink. Pity it's so expensive, but I note it's come down in price. The bottle and marketing is very clever, so you feel you are having something special, but I'm sure the profit margin must be huge for distilled water!
