I am a bit of a gin snob and, whilst willing to try anything (I know, I'm a real trooper!) I very much veer towards classics such as Tanqueray and steadfastly avoid anything gimmicky which the recent national obsession with gin seems to have encouraged. That's why it's taken me a while to try this Rangpur - one of a series of gins from the brand which also includes Malacca, Sevilla and Lovage - because, well, why would you tamper with gin beyond adding a dash of Fever Tree and waving it casually in the direction of a lemon? You see, I understand how adding rhubarb, cherries, chillies, chocolate etc etc to alcoholic drinks is intended to make that particular drink appeal to people who don't actually like it,but it simultaneously appalls the purists among us. In fact, had this not been on offer in duty free as I passed through on my way home from a business trip, I might never have tried this lovely gin and dismissed it instantly as a 'flavoured' variety and therefore beneath my contempt.Luckily, I was in a daring mood and my bravery paid off as this is absolutely not a 'flavoured' gin as such but a top notch Tanqueray with a hint of Rangpur lime. Well, not even a hint - it's more subtle than that and the lime is more in the nose than on the palate where the citrus element is only just detectable. It's also a lovely sweet gin (in that uniquely bitter-sweet way that only gin manages to be) and carries a bit more of a kick at just over 41% abv. However, it's the taste that counts, so I'll use my other half's reaction after a good slurp of Tanqueray Rangpur and tonic to sum up this product: "Oooh - that's a bit addictive isn't it?"You have been warned!

This is one of several reviews I will be doing of various gins.I have something of a gin habit and rather geekily score gins for both g&t and martini on a spreadsheet (I mix 1:5 with a twist of lemon, well I don't mix it myself thats what husbands are for ) . I score out of ten and I give my go to gin (Bombay London) a 5 out of 10 to act as a baseline to judge against. I score more than once so I get an idea of how they taste over different times and occasions. Please remember these scores are personal and what I like you might not.So on to Tanqueray RangpurG&T 8/10Martini 7/10The rangpur limes (which aren't actually limes but rather a fruit similar to a cross between a lemon and a mandarin)make a very citrus tasting, very fresh G and T. I drink mine without any additional lemon or lime. This is not a traditional tasting gin but if you fancy something a little different then this is an excellent choice. For the martini we paired it with Noilly Pratt and again the citrus comes through very clearly. The martini is not as smooth as my favourite martini gins but nor is it particularly harsh.I think that this gin is excellent value and we are now on our second bottle so it is definitely on our buy again list.

I'm a great gin drinker and I think this is the best Tanqueray on the market. It may not be as versatile as the ordinary but it stands against the expensive 10 for flavour and is better value. It is superior to Flor de Sevilla (which is slightly too orange, tasting more like an orange liqueur) and just above the Malacca (which is under-rated but difficult to get hold of). The scent and taste of those limes makes for a fantastic G&T and a great Martini (if you normally prefer a twist to an olive) and a truly wondrous Last Word. The only cocktail to avoid with this gin is an Aviation as the citrus and violette combination does not work (at least for me).

An excellent gin, my favourite of the many different types that I've tried over the years - it's just a cut above all the others, in my view. I usually drink it with tonic water only (no ice, and no lemon/lime slices) as I find this is best for savouring the subtle rangpur lime flavouring, but I will add ice if it's a hot day - very refreshing! It can be a bit hard to find sometimes, but I noticed it at a very special offer price in last week's Prime Day sale and replenished my drinks cabinet. The bottle design is pretty good too - far better than much of the competition, but the contents are all that really matters...

I don't normally go into flavoured Gin's, I find it a bit of a fad and often find the effects to be sickly sweet or chemically. I like my gin 40% or above abv and mainly juniper flavoured London style paired with a good tonic and a nice fat lump of ice and a wedge of lime. This Rangpur lime gives a unique flavour and gives a taste unlike lime but very refreshing, not too sweet and not chemically. The great thing is if I have no fresh limes I can just pull out a bottle of this. I only mark it down by one as it's difficult to find good deals on it and when there are I buy several.

Tanqueray Gin is my absolute favourite gin, it has such a distinctive taste but i find it really refreshing. I usually drink it with a good quality tonic, ice and a slice of lime. The Tanqueray Rangpur does not need the lime adding as it has its own rangpur lime mix included and I must admit, this has now become my favourite Tanqueray.Best served with tonic and ice in a nice gin glass, with edge of the rim rubbed with lime juice as a long drink for me, but I could also drink this gin neat with ice as a nightcap for sipping. My last word on this, try it and enjoy, cheers!

Not a gin enthusiast but help my other to drink it from time to time. Don't like the new so called sweet flavoured gin as to me with 20% ABV they should be called liqueur but attract lots of people with sweet taste. So back to the Rangpur, to me the smell remind me of Kaffir leaves used in Asiatic cooking but the taste doesn't reflect the smell, sharp clean taste with a hint of citrus. The combination of these create a very pleasant after taste with a mouth full of flavour, I may be persuaded as I like their 10 too but not as much as my malt whisky ?

I love Tanqueray anyway so was keen to try this. On opening it smells Juniper mainly with almost a hint of Lime zest. The first taste, with Fevertree, I thought that it was quite bitter but I've got to say the more I drank it the more I liked it and the bitterness had disappeared. Its very limey and could probably be drunk without any added citrus slice or wedge. I'll probably be buying more in the future. Is it better than normal Tanqueray? I still love the original so would probably have a bottle of each so that I can swap between them.

I first tasted this gin in a gin bar in Glasgow called Gin 71, it is by far the best gin I've tasted so far. This is how I like to think of my gin -Worst gin - Gordon'sGood Gin - Bombay, Hendrix, Portobello Road etcOn a whole new level gin - Tanqueray RangpurWhen drinking gin I always have singles, by the time I finished my Tanqueray Rangpur (With soda water and grapefruit) I had no clue that I had drank a double as it was just so damn smooth.Get it, you will not be disappointed, even if you're not a big fan of gin in general.

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for; it's fruity, it has the hints of lime, it tastes great with orange juice and if used in correct quantities it simply tastes as part of the drink rather than an overpowering spirit. I tried it with an interesting combination I threw together; orange, kiwi flavoured water, a squeezed lemon and a little sugar, topped off with this. It was great. Not to mention how great the bottle itself looks. This has become my new favourite spirit by far.

I'm a bit of a gin fan, bought this recently from Amazon, it arrived, tried it the same evening before I'd finished the second glass I ordered another bottle. Absolutely love it, rather too much! It's lovely lime flavouring with a dash of fevertree tonic goes down very smoothly and rather too easily. Very pleasantly surprised at first taste, not sure I could afford shop prices all the time as an every day tipple, but will definately buy again, really enjoyed it

Wow! I have often said I find it difficult to decide between my favourite gin. However, I just tasted this Rangpur gin for the first time and there is no comparison to every other gin I have tasted. Usually one gin is plenty for me at a sitting, but this is completely moreish! I'm almost sorry I discovered it as its just so enjoyable to drink. That said, I do love lime so am somewhat biased by the flavour. I will absolutely buy again. Amazing!

I love the Tanqueray gins I have tasted so far and bought this on Black Friday to try. Wow what a difference, I like to add lime (fresh) to my gin as preference but this lime taste is something to try for yourself. Hard to describe but the sharpness without the bitterness is a delight and the drink itself stays so smooth even when drank neat (just to taste honest!) will be ordering again when this bottle is through guaranteed!!

Took a chance and bought this on the strength of reviews here. It is absolutely lovely! I am not normally a fan of flavoured gin at all, as all too often the 'flavours' simply mask the true gin taste and ruin the drink. However, the lime taste here is so very subtle and refreshing, that I'm sure it will become a firm favourite of mine. Served with ice and a good quality tonic it is the perfect gin for a warm summer's evening.

I’ve always been a gin lover and now that gin are high in fashion it’s nice to get different flavours of gin. This one by Tanqueray is absolutely delicious! It has a zesty zing to it and is citrusy. Very refreshing on a hot sunny day. Fever Tree Indian tonic would be the best tonic with this with a slice of lemon or lime in my humble opinion as I think any other flavoured tonic will just drown the beautiful taste of the gin.
